It will turn into a free for all and have and have a survival mode where you try to get out of the sinking ship right? If not im not interested

Shut up with the disinfo. You aren't even a fan. Let me break it down:
1.) James Cameron isn't involved. He isn't even aware of this.
2.) There will be no npcs at this stage. Did you even watch the dev interview on March 17th?

3.) Did YOU even watch the interview? They said it is tasteless to open source the ship to modders. There will be no guns, no Battle Royale, and no sinking for now. They are focused on the ship modelling only and will perhaps get sinking implemented as a simulation, but having people on the ship would be disgusting and shameful.

        >disgusting and shameful

        its none of that

trying to get a glimpse of history is not a disservice towards anyone

NTA but it is all of that
the game as described is a glimpse of history, it doesn't even really sound like a game at all

to actually have to fight to make it to a lifeboat or simply survive would be tasteless. We have no problem making video games about wars, provided you are playing fort the right side. To invoke a simple tragedy for the sake of an FPS is absolutely shameful, yes. Same even goes for that JFK shooter game. Fricked up

following the characters around while giving them choices to make is a game though

and if youre feeling bored with your current character, you can always go hunting for other characters to follow

There's no competition–in the purest sense that is not a game.
              Definitely interactive fun, though.

It's not tasteless, it's not done to mock the people who died, everyone personally affected by the Titanic have long since passed away, and making it a shooter is very removed from the actual cause of the tragedy.

So it's fine, although probably it won't be very fun to play.

So? It's still highly disrespectful to them.

I backed this game in 2015 for $100 and I got told by the devs sorry kid we cater to patreon simps now, if you don’t donate monthly you’re worthless to us

Sounds gay. Who would want to play this crap?

I think it'd be kinda cool for VR to be used as a niche platform for taking you through an educational tour through actual historical events. Like observing Gaugemela or Waterloo

if they do the sinking and show you how people tried to escape, or how some people got trapped, or what certain officers on board the ship did etc, think it would be neat

I'd want to play it purely as a museum piece. To actually see how all the iconic landmarks I recall from the film fit together is neat. It is like interactive behind-the-scenes. Couple it with commentary bubbles about the different parts of the ship and it would be a gem. Ever play the Portal dev commentary?

itll play out like a soap opera with these characters

people love their soap operas, especially when they find out their favorite character has been lying the whole time!!!

got damn, can you imagine the possibilities with this game - they lying, the cheating, the back stabbing, and the murders in the lower decks...

Somebody should just rebuild the ship layout and have it be a stage for a battle royale. but don't have it end with it sinking that would be gay. just a permanently sailing ship
