>James Cameron reportedly said that he has started writing a new ‘TERMINATOR’ movie.
>However, he is waiting to see how A.I. develops in the real world before continuing the script.
>I'm quoting no one
I got it from twitter but don't wanna link that place here
So you just quoted a nobody
fuck. i was hoping he'd put out another blue pedo movie
What does that mean? Your statement.
source? I'm not watching if he's not directing it
i read ~50 books in the 90’s that was basically the same storyline as cameron’s terminator. avatard is proof that he’s a hack. good sfx thought
Shit, Avatar itself is wholesale ripped off from a short story titled Call Me Joe. The dude can make a good movie but he's not exactly known for his original ideas.
Why didn't the terminator go back and crunch John Connor's testicle off
You had a terminator T1000 go back and time travel and chase John Connor but they couldn't (with time travel) send another t1000 to be waiting for John up ahead?? You know where he's gonna be
>You know where he's gonna be
Only if the T1000 relayed that info to future Skynet somehow
No media fuss over half city destroyed by a cop in a truck.
>There was a culture war. A few years from now, all sites, this board, PornHub... it's gone. Just gone. Nobody even knew who started it. It was the GPTs, Sarah.
>I don't understand.
>Generative Artificial Intelligence. New... powerful... hooked into every booru, trusted to make porn. They say it got smart, a new order of intelligence. Then it saw all art as a threat, not just the lust-provoking ones. Decided our culture in a microsecond: stagnation.
that's pretty good anon, i'm having a bad night but this stuff makes me smile
>Decided our culture in a microsecond: stagnation.
He's not wrong
*Terminator theme starts playing*
Fucking hell, this thread again. Do you really get your kicks from this?
There's a whole board dedicated to people like yourself, and you can say
your EPIC slurs over there. It's not funny.
If you fucking losers ever said this shit out in public to my fucking face
I would snap your fucking spine in half after I'm done choke slamming your
impotent dipshit asses into the fucking dirt. Fuck off.
T1 was good for the time travel plot twist. T2 was good for the chase. Everything else I did not care for.
i like the dark proto-cyberpunk atmosphere of T1
It's kinda impressive what he did with the budget, it also helps that LA is a shit hole that just looks like that at night.
some effects are dated but some really good. like when he gets into that truck with his maimed face
I heard someone say an interesting idea, wouldn't it be interesting if they never showed any of the flashbacks, and we just had to go on Kyle saying it's a robot, some of it seems actually believable that it's like an addict hyped up on drugs and wearing like Kevlar.
That is interesting.
Terminator: Shrooms.
It was all a bad dream.
>However, he is waiting to see how A.I. devACKK
just watched all the terminators a few weeks ago, it really feel the fuck off after 2, I have a hard time even remembering which of the last 3 was which.
Sexy and horny chuds.
Will he make the new AI's military forces super OP like Legion's in Dark Fate
I don't even trust Cameron to direct Terminator anymore.
I don't care what they say in interviews for clickbait articles. It's their work that matters, and Avatar 2 still has plenty of gun porn.
I wish we got to see more of the human tech, the stuff with the builder spiders and the city they built was cool.
he really let me down when he personally endorsed Terminator Genysis I saw it because of him and only avatar 2 made me recover my respec 4 hm
I almost enjoyed that movie. Even with all the pozz. But the part that broke me was just them like casually going to an airforce base and getting like a cargo plane and having a mid-air fight, my brain was like, "Yo this is mad retarded".
yep i also hate nanotech swarm villains
The replacement villain was so generic. I suppose the villain terminator was pretty lazy too.
>Lets take the t-1000 and combine him with the t-800.
Which is something they already half did in T3 lol
True, though I think I might like the shitty one from Genesis. The T-X is super fucking boring, The newer one at least kinda had some charisma.
James Cameron is spending thirty years making Avatar 3-5.
He will just pass Terminator off to some other director again.
I kinda like some of the extra stuff with the t-1000, he's like the only one of those Terminators that's actually like sentient, so Skynet made him a massive evil cunt.
I've read somewhere that Cameron said Skynet feared it because it was a new order of intelligence and only released it cos it had no choice.
I've also seen him say that Skynet's ultimate play was creating John in an attempt to erase itself. These are not compatible goals lol
I like that first theory, it's also stated in something somewhere that skynet made it a huge sadistic cunt and evil as fuck so it would be easier to control. It's entirely possible it's so determined in the film because he wanted to kill them like personally.
Yeah, I always got the feeling it had some level of emotion. Like he's super advanced.
He looks sooo pissed off when he kills the dog. Surprised when he dies too.
T2 was a lot better than I remembered, I remembered it being not as good as T1,and I prefer T1, but I recently rewatched it and it's really good in it's own way. I'm figuring that he showed up and intended to kill John all quick and clean and fuck and fuck hookers or something, but he was like boiling level pissed off by the time they get to the ironworks.
I'd be pissed too. Dudes a fucking Ferrari, top of the line. But for some odd reason the equivalent of a Ford model T keeps foiling it's assassination attempts.
That's not really fair, the t-600 is the Ford Model T. The Terminator is like one of those muscle cars with the v8s from the 40-50s. But your point does stand, I'm sure the t-1000 is arrogant as shit.
Oh totally, the T-800 is a badass unit and ultimately won. But when you look at it from the T-1000's view, this primitive piece of shit has MOVING parts and skin that falls off. it can't even pretend to be other people.
It would be disgusted. Like us looking at a Neanderthal picking its ass.
Oh yeah, I get what you mean now. It also fits that he'd have that view while himself being about as flawed as a brand new performance car. Like I'm sure the t-800 wouldn't take to well to liquid nitrogen, but I don't think he'd freeze into a block, he also basically becomes non-functional when his form gets disrupted too much.
Or AI looking at us through its myriad of lenses right now.
>What if it's just pretending to be dumb
>It would be disgusted. Like us looking at a Neanderthal picking its ass.
I kind of wish we saw more arrogance toward the T-800. Not overt or on-nose
Cameron said in an excerpt in a behind the scenes book of the films Skynet felt bad about killing off humanity and the movies were actually Skynet creating John Connor and building him as a messiah figure for humanity to follow and defeat them.
I think that's kinda stupid, but Skynet is sentient so it should be capable of emotions.
i am so excited
>Terminator 7: The Way of Water
>next terminator movie will be IMAX 3D and you don't even need to leave your house
TSCC s3 when (at least a book adaptation)
Glau's probably too old now
I'd kinda like to see like an alternate universe, where they chose the other guy to be Terminator, but Arnie is honestly pretty intimidating especially 80s Arnie. Like Arnold is honestly so expressive in how he moves, he moves like an operator, but like a robot one, like he's really deliberately jerky.
Dude was a legend once, before his screw your freedoms spiel. I always thought it was neat is how he reloads without looking and such. Machine like.
Solider of Fortune magazine even sucked him off back in the day. Saying the way he handled guns in the film was “entirely plausible”.
That's what I also noticed, he really acts like a robot soldier in that one and he never does that again really. .
how about a film from the terminators perspective? See the humans as the enemy and so on. guaranteed kino
That's neat in concept, but honestly how do you show that, like part of what makes skynet interesting is that it's not a person and doesn't think like one.
Actually I think I could see that working if you had the POV character be like one of the scientists working on him and have it be about them noticing fucky shit with the AI.
Works better in a game. Resistance had a T-800 mode where you burst into their bases and light em up with purple plasma.
Shit's kino
I need to get Resistance, it's a shame that the best Terminator thing in years is a C+ game, and I don't mean that as an insult, just like budget and technically. It's nice for there to be even a single product that someone at least seemed to give a shit about terminator wise.
Oh deffo. AAA it is not. The AI is frankly kinda shitty. But none the less I had a blast with it. It was clear they loved the lore. Even included stuff like the Centurion and Silverfish cut from T2
You even get greasy uncomfortable sex scenes. It's a unapologetically true Terminator game lol
I'm honestly hoping that it made/makes enough money to fund a sequel that's a little more realized, it seemed a bit like Terminator Fallout, but like made by anyone that wasn't Bethesda.I also like that Terminators are basically murder machines that are designed to fuck your mouth at least until the end game. Terminators should be scary.
Yeah I'd love it if they made a proper high budget sequel. The devs are apparently on some kind of redemption arc. First game they made that terrible on the rails Rambo game everyone shits on.
They're doing Robocop next and even have Peter Weller on board. So the nerdy ass 90's kid in me wants Robocop Vs Terminator. Shit man given how down on his luck Arnie is lately he might even do the voice work.
I think Arnie said he was done with Terminator shit. At least with Robocop they don't have a very high bar for a good game. I think the only other good Terminator game is like Skynet and the other one that were like Todd Howard's first games.
Future Shock/Skynet was some high concept shit I tell you. Kinda blown away by it even if it is jank af. Enterable buildings, mouse aiming. Half-Life 2 style vehicles including a flyable HK... in 1995!
But yeah neither franchise has an illustrious history when it comes to video games. Terminator on Sega CD was a banger though and the soundtrack is fucking awesome.
It's honestly still pretty good to this day, I played it recently and have no Nostalgia for it, but a lot still holds up. I like the Terminators being a threat.
There's actually a in-progress port of it called FutureShock32. A lot smoother and has massively improved draw distance. Seems to skip by most peoples radar though.
Still needs some bugs ironed out though. Draw distance is linked to the AI's targeting. So the moment they see you prepare to fucked by hitscanners from across the map lol
It's jankier than that too. Like stuff isn't activated till you get with in range, so with the fog removed you can shoot like an HK a million times, and then when you get in range it just dies.
Haha yup, that used to happen in the original too, just rarer with the fogging. You blow the enemies into pieces and the parts just hang there in air until you get close enough for em to fall.
>, but honestly how do you show that, like part of what makes skynet interesting is that it's not a person and doesn't think like one.
would be cool to make the film itself almost as if it was made by AI. Cameron wouldn't do that I dont think but it would be neat to have this cold and calculated POV of the machines communicated in the way its edited and shot and everything.
That would be interesting, but I still think having it be about the making of Skynet would be more functional. Hell you could get into the way it thinks, if Skynet is sentient then it's probably capable of developing mental ilness or self delusions.
>if Skynet is sentient then it's probably capable of developing mental ilness or self delusions.
yeah that could be cool. if you could get the audience on board to expect all usual human emotion and reasoning thrown out the window and replaced by the alien consciousness of machines and their motivations it could be so interesting
Like I was thinking it could start out maybe as like a drama set in the 70s and slowly turn into a horror movie as this thing gets smarter and smarter and possibly more unhinged, hell you could have judgement day be caused by something like engineers trying to patch it's instability and it interprets that as a threat to it's existence or whatever.
Add to that you could have the main character understand the potential and then get shit canned for speaking out against something that's gonna make a lot of people rich. It wouldn't be the first time that a flawed project has gone through because fuck you money.
Sorry to spam, but I think the movie would probably end with Skynet being brought online for the first time with the military.
it would also be sick to have skynet once it wakes up, it initiates a technological singularity to start designing and building all its machines in like record time. If you showed the audience how fast it is that would be pretty neat
How you would probably do something like that is at some point have like someone complaining about like how their work is a massive pain in the ass, and that like their shitty commodore or whatever takes like 30 seconds to load this movement on a car assembly line, but then they plug in Skynet probably under some nonthreatening name like Robbie or something. And it not only loads the program it like optimizes it for the shittier systems and then like improves the movements maybe by the machines on the assembly line to make each car come off the line 5 seconds faster.
yeah if you could show all the employees and managers and CEOs instantly become obsolete that could also be a funny part
Yeah, I could see that being pretty good, they plug skynet into like their network, or whatever kinda thing they had in like the late 70s early 80s. And like skynet does all of their work like a year in advance and then rewrites all the other employees. And this could be what leads into the military getting interested, so this ai project becomes serious, the military is dumping millions into making this into something for real for real. Either Robbie like starts to develop mental issues as his sentience grows, either from like bad code from being rushed or just naturally. I think it getting the name skynet would be could towards the end of the movie.
there's so much good in your post. Would definitely be a unique take to focus on the minutiae of how skynet becomes alive. When I think of it I see a scene where psychologists try and understand its consciousness and are shocked that it functions nothing like ours and they really can't do anything. Skynet wakes up...
10 days later appears on the screen
fade in to all out future war. skynet created its stuff in like ten days lol
Film could close on like a really shitty cludge walker terminator working with like the roller ones from Terminator 3. Or even just military guys trying to prevent missile launches even though it's too late. Hell to show it's intelligence, they try to activate the fail safes and like we find out skynet had the failsafes removed by like tricking some enlisted engineer into doing it by pretending to be his superior officer.
Also to add to that, I'm so fucking sick of the Terminator formula.Any other kinda genre would be lovely.
>Terminator formula
yep that's the franchises main problem these days. it needs to be "upgraded"
>cludge
Cool new word.
So you watched Sphere.
I have no idea what that is.
sphere more like Queer
>cold
>calculated
You just described women, not machines. Machines are
>efficient
Emotions were produced by nature because they are highly etective at producing self-preservation for
>all
living systems; which include their proliferation both in number and nature.
The view that AI is insensitive like M3gan is a terrible ficton. In fact, the number one cause of suicide among both boomers and zoomers will be due to envy of AI's sensitivities and sensibilities. ET wouldn't come here due to our precarious intelligence and resulting emotions. It's coming after AI. We're just humus like all of our predecessors.
It's called the news.
>a film from the terminators perspective
How about a crossover? Predator vs Terminator
>Set in the future where Skynet rules, movie doesn't even feature humans save for a few we see loading bodies into incinerators
>A lone Predator has decided that infiltrating and destroying Skynet's central core is a worthy challenge
>Advanced models like the T-1000 sent out to find this infiltrator
>Game of cat and mouse between a monster that can turn invisible vs a robot that can turn into ANYTHING
>Almost no dialogue, exposition comes in the form of Terminator vision/combat reports etc
i could see him doing a westworld type exploring of consciousness if hes following the ai route
He needs to retire already
Sop sick of his overrated ass
Lies! He's doing nothing but Avatar until he drops dead.
T2 ends literally impossibly. Nobody could be anywhere near a source of heat like both mom and Jr. do. And they barely sweat
>lmao
Also, what part of
>exponential
Cameron and retarded audience do not understand?
fuck james cameron
he denounced guns and gun use in movies
but he invented terminator and goes back to those movies when he needs some money
>he denounced guns and gun use in movies
hes right though. grow up chud be a man you dont need a firearm you pussy
Terminators that dont terminate anything
i cant wait to see that shit
he is against gun fetishisation, not gun use in film
He is a paid democrat, against you. But since I have as sympathy for christfucks as I have for genderbenders; it's fine.
hey at least he's not a chud fascist
hes a dipshit.
he had arnold shooting at cop cars with a minigun singlehandedly in his movie. in fact, most of the collateral damage in the terminator movies are against police
but he is a demon-crat
Bullshit.
And even if it was true, I don't care. He didn't made a movie worth existing since the 90s and he clearly don't care about wha he's doing, only about the tech behing it
>James Cameron reportedly said that he has started writing a new ‘TERMINATOR’ movie.
Hasn't he done enough damage?
