Why didn't the terminator go back and crunch John Connor's testicle off

You had a terminator T1000 go back and time travel and chase John Connor but they couldn't (with time travel) send another t1000 to be waiting for John up ahead?? You know where he's gonna be

I kinda like some of the extra stuff with the t-1000, he's like the only one of those Terminators that's actually like sentient, so Skynet made him a massive evil c**t.

      Anonymous

I've read somewhere that Cameron said Skynet feared it because it was a new order of intelligence and only released it cos it had no choice.

I've also seen him say that Skynet's ultimate play was creating John in an attempt to erase itself. These are not compatible goals lol

I like that first theory, it's also stated in something somewhere that skynet made it a huge sadistic c**t and evil as frick so it would be easier to control. It's entirely possible it's so determined in the film because he wanted to kill them like personally.

T2 was a lot better than I remembered, I remembered it being not as good as T1,and I prefer T1, but I recently rewatched it and it's really good in it's own way. I'm figuring that he showed up and intended to kill John all quick and clean and frick and frick hookers or something, but he was like boiling level pissed off by the time they get to the ironworks.

I'd be pissed too. Dudes a fricking Ferrari, top of the line. But for some odd reason the equivalent of a Ford model T keeps foiling it's assassination attempts.

                Anonymous

That's not really fair, the t-600 is the Ford Model T. The Terminator is like one of those muscle cars with the v8s from the 40-50s. But your point does stand, I'm sure the t-1000 is arrogant as shit.

                Anonymous

Oh totally, the T-800 is a badass unit and ultimately won. But when you look at it from the T-1000's view, this primitive piece of shit has MOVING parts and skin that falls off. it can't even pretend to be other people.

It would be disgusted. Like us looking at a Neanderthal picking its ass.

Oh yeah, I get what you mean now. It also fits that he'd have that view while himself being about as flawed as a brand new performance car. Like I'm sure the t-800 wouldn't take to well to liquid nitrogen, but I don't think he'd freeze into a block, he also basically becomes non-functional when his form gets disrupted too much.

Cameron said in an excerpt in a behind the scenes book of the films Skynet felt bad about killing off humanity and the movies were actually Skynet creating John Connor and building him as a messiah figure for humanity to follow and defeat them.

I'd kinda like to see like an alternate universe, where they chose the other guy to be Terminator, but Arnie is honestly pretty intimidating especially 80s Arnie. Like Arnold is honestly so expressive in how he moves, he moves like an operator, but like a robot one, like he's really deliberately jerky.

I need to get Resistance, it's a shame that the best Terminator thing in years is a C+ game, and I don't mean that as an insult, just like budget and technically. It's nice for there to be even a single product that someone at least seemed to give a shit about terminator wise.

Oh deffo. AAA it is not. The AI is frankly kinda shitty. But none the less I had a blast with it. It was clear they loved the lore. Even included stuff like the Centurion and Silverfish cut from T2

You even get greasy uncomfortable sex scenes. It's a unapologetically true Terminator game lol

I'm honestly hoping that it made/makes enough money to fund a sequel that's a little more realized, it seemed a bit like Terminator Fallout, but like made by anyone that wasn't Bethesda.I also like that Terminators are basically murder machines that are designed to frick your mouth at least until the end game. Terminators should be scary.

                Anonymous

Yeah I'd love it if they made a proper high budget sequel. The devs are apparently on some kind of redemption arc. First game they made that terrible on the rails Rambo game everyone shits on.

They're doing Robocop next and even have Peter Weller on board. So the nerdy ass 90's kid in me wants Robocop Vs Terminator. Shit man given how down on his luck Arnie is lately he might even do the voice work.

                Anonymous

I think Arnie said he was done with Terminator shit. At least with Robocop they don't have a very high bar for a good game. I think the only other good Terminator game is like Skynet and the other one that were like Todd Howard's first games.

Future Shock/Skynet was some high concept shit I tell you. Kinda blown away by it even if it is jank af. Enterable buildings, mouse aiming. Half-Life 2 style vehicles including a flyable HK... in 1995!

But yeah neither franchise has an illustrious history when it comes to video games. Terminator on Sega CD was a banger though and the soundtrack is fricking awesome.

There's actually a in-progress port of it called FutureShock32. A lot smoother and has massively improved draw distance. Seems to skip by most peoples radar though.

Still needs some bugs ironed out though. Draw distance is linked to the AI's targeting. So the moment they see you prepare to fricked by hitscanners from across the map lol

                Anonymous

It's jankier than that too. Like stuff isn't activated till you get with in range, so with the fog removed you can shoot like an HK a million times, and then when you get in range it just dies.

                Anonymous

Haha yup, that used to happen in the original too, just rarer with the fogging. You blow the enemies into pieces and the parts just hang there in air until you get close enough for em to fall.

        >, but honestly how do you show that, like part of what makes skynet interesting is that it's not a person and doesn't think like one.
would be cool to make the film itself almost as if it was made by AI. Cameron wouldn't do that I dont think but it would be neat to have this cold and calculated POV of the machines communicated in the way its edited and shot and everything.

          Anonymous

That would be interesting, but I still think having it be about the making of Skynet would be more functional. Hell you could get into the way it thinks, if Skynet is sentient then it's probably capable of developing mental ilness or self delusions.

            Anonymous

            >if Skynet is sentient then it's probably capable of developing mental ilness or self delusions.
yeah that could be cool. if you could get the audience on board to expect all usual human emotion and reasoning thrown out the window and replaced by the alien consciousness of machines and their motivations it could be so interesting

              Anonymous

Like I was thinking it could start out maybe as like a drama set in the 70s and slowly turn into a horror movie as this thing gets smarter and smarter and possibly more unhinged, hell you could have judgement day be caused by something like engineers trying to patch it's instability and it interprets that as a threat to it's existence or whatever.

                Anonymous

Add to that you could have the main character understand the potential and then get shit canned for speaking out against something that's gonna make a lot of people rich. It wouldn't be the first time that a flawed project has gone through because frick you money.

it would also be sick to have skynet once it wakes up, it initiates a technological singularity to start designing and building all its machines in like record time. If you showed the audience how fast it is that would be pretty neat

                Anonymous

How you would probably do something like that is at some point have like someone complaining about like how their work is a massive pain in the ass, and that like their shitty commodore or whatever takes like 30 seconds to load this movement on a car assembly line, but then they plug in Skynet probably under some nonthreatening name like Robbie or something. And it not only loads the program it like optimizes it for the shittier systems and then like improves the movements maybe by the machines on the assembly line to make each car come off the line 5 seconds faster.

yeah if you could show all the employees and managers and CEOs instantly become obsolete that could also be a funny part

                Anonymous

Yeah, I could see that being pretty good, they plug skynet into like their network, or whatever kinda thing they had in like the late 70s early 80s. And like skynet does all of their work like a year in advance and then rewrites all the other employees. And this could be what leads into the military getting interested, so this ai project becomes serious, the military is dumping millions into making this into something for real for real. Either Robbie like starts to develop mental issues as his sentience grows, either from like bad code from being rushed or just naturally. I think it getting the name skynet would be could towards the end of the movie.

there's so much good in your post. Would definitely be a unique take to focus on the minutiae of how skynet becomes alive. Film could close on like a really shitty cludge walker terminator working with like the roller ones from Terminator 3. Or even just military guys trying to prevent missile launches even though it's too late. Hell to show it's intelligence, they try to activate the fail safes and like we find out skynet had the failsafes removed by like tricking some enlisted engineer into doing it by pretending to be his superior officer.

      >A lone Predator has decided that infiltrating and destroying Skynet's central core is a worthy challenge
      >Advanced models like the T-1000 sent out to find this infiltrator
      >Game of cat and mouse between a monster that can turn invisible vs a robot that can turn into ANYTHING
      >Almost no dialogue, exposition comes in the form of Terminator vision/combat reports etc

T2 ends literally impossibly. Nobody could be anywhere near a source of heat like both mom and Jr. do. And they barely sweat

    Also, what part of
    >exponential
Cameron and moronic audience do not understand?

              hes a dipshit.

he had arnold shooting at cop cars with a minigun singlehandedly in his movie. in fact, most of the collateral damage in the terminator movies are against police

              but he is a demon-crat

hey at least he's not a chud fascist

    Bullshit.
And even if it was true, I don't care. He didn't made a movie worth existing since the 90s and he clearly don't care about wha he's doing, only about the tech behing it
