once you wake up and realize how fake it all is it's hard to go back.
Gaku no Tsukai, comedy troupe, specifically their batsu games are funny. some of their stuff is a bit old now but the early 2000s stuff was their peak.
I remember watching this one show on YouTube when i was a kid but I was never able to find it again. Four dudes were stuck in a gymnasium for 24 hours straight and every so often someone would burst in and try to grab them. If they got grabbed they got punished physically. I think it was 24 hour tag, but idr. If anyone can figure it out, I'd really appreciate it, I'd like to watch it again

A lot of it isn't, most shows are horribly fake, and purely built around displaying big unrealistic reactions. And those idol shows are the absolute worst.
Some of the good shows though: things with Downtown (Gaki no Tsukai, Wednesday Downtown, Documental), Gamecenter CX, and Knight Scoop.
