Well, I doubt she is sane either way. You don't shove a bone around in your womb and stable your hood to your face as a sane person. She's either an "alpha crossed" due to her great self restraint and abnormal brain or has became insane but is immune.
The Sadness came out recently and it was pretty much a Live-Action Crossed film. With The Boys being succesful, it might create interest in adapting another one of Ennis' works.
I could see it as a pervy cartoon, like the boys diabolical but with worse animation and art that makes the gore not as intense to deal with.
no way they do it though, crossed isn't worth the effort and I say that as a fan.
I'm not a fan, personally. I've only read Wish You Were Here so far, but it hasn't really gripped me. I expected far worse torture porn and gore from the way people explained it to me.
it was a product of the times, to me anyways.
It felt like every medium had gone overboard with zombies, everything is zombies. and that felt like people were planning on murdering their neighbors as soon as they turned and oh gee I could totes mcgotes survive a zomebie apocolapyse because i'm so cool and the main character and i'll hook up with a cute girl while slaying zomebies etc...
and then crossed comes out as a giant frick you, you aint surviving shit and you will want to be dead if this happens. there is no victory and there is no hope for survival for you, your friends, your family or any of your buttholes.
Kind of like rami's dawn of the dead sprinting zombies changed how zombies were treated, from shambling unending shuffling horror to I will rape you with my teeth. It was pretty good through the horse riding family but was dead to me by the time the comic book store and stapler scene came out.
You'd have to tone down the rape of course, but it's doable. A lot of the more disturbing moments in Crossed are made so due to the context, not necessarily the blatant depiction of sex with entrails and animals.
For example, the infamous salt circle scene, you could probably get away with as they rip the daughter apart like a wishbone, and the wife is screaming at what a moron her husband is.
One scene from Badlands that always stuck with me is how the cowardly teen Yellow Belly is hiding in a barrel as the circus he's at is overrun. He simply describes his now Crossed dad catching his unlucky little brother as the kid begs his dad not to pull down his pants.
Even a scene like this
Thread's gone, but here's the cover art
you can do by having her blast the cribs. Don't even need any other noise.
They could also explore the concept of the Crossed learning the importance of Self-preservation and restraint. They could have episodes focusing on characters like Smokey and introducing Beauregard Salt as the main antagonist. It could be 1 season of the survivors trying to fight off mindless crossed and season 2 could bring in intelligent Crossed to raise the stakes.
It would be an interesting show for wannabe survivalists and preppers to watch because of the hypothetical "challenge" it would present to survive in that world.
The guys who made the Sadness said they were inspired on Crossed, and tbh it's so similar in nature I wonder why Garth didn't raise an eyebrow to it. Although Crossed's practically dead at this point, with Avatar Press going down in 2018/2019; so it was probably better he didn't bother.
And the best way to tackle Crossed is as some other anons say, tone down the rape and focus on gory shit. Stuff like The Purge, Saw or Terrifier proved you can make a goddamn gorefest and it might work.
I don't even know if she CAN read. Or hold attention enough to read. Crossed brains aren't able to function well unless there's constant chaos going on.
This and Mimic are probably the top of Crossed stories for me. The last volume for WYWH does meander a lot and the memory sections goes on for far too much, but in a way, that's almost fitting. Of all people who'll talk endlessly on and on when they're near death, Skakey is about the guy. It's kinda like how the bad gameplay of Spec Ops: The Line helps with the meta message of that game.
Where did she appear ?
Why is her cross X shapped instead of the classic + ?
Crossed: Wish You Were Here
>Crossed: Wish You Were Here
Thanks mate
She’s special due to the brain damage from seizures keeping her sane.
>sane
sane people don't shove severed legs up their c**ts
wait, they don't
She already had a scar so the rash just filled out differently.
See, this shit is why Ennis should've never been an comic artist
Simon spurrier wrote this. Garth wrote like 4-6 arcs in a series that lasted for more than 100 issues.
Was she still sane at the time she did this or is the virus just making her a mean c**t?

is it bad if i get turned on by some of the rape and murder in Crossed
yes, but also I understand. We're all fricked up. It's probably fine.
depends on how you took the story of that one creepy guy convincing the kid to also get necro rape happy
Why is this being shilled so hard lately?
Is it? I just saw cover art of a nurse with a shotgun in a baby's mouth on /ic/ and I was so disgusted I decided to read the series.

tbh that's the nicest way to go as a baby in universe.
Looks like daz3d

I don't see how you could adapt Crossed faithfully. You'd have to really neuter it for modern audiences.

Clay Pigeon baby was kino though.

This was the only Crossed Story I enjoyed reading. The murder porn got boring after a while. At least this got a nice story.
