I've seen it get shit on a lot but Audrey it's great imo. Audrey is a qt and it's one of Audie Murphys most kino performances even though he's not the star
Oh, please. I read his autobiography and constantly rewatch three of his movies (The Maltese Falcon, The Asphalt Jungle) and Chinatown (actor). Love his voice.
I get it, you're a Bogie fan. Ford is still better than Huston by a mile. He pumped out great film after great film for more than 30 years. He shat out masterpieces, sometimes more than one in a year, meanwhile Huston has what, a handful of genuinely great movies to his credit? There's no comparison
John Ford is an overrated hack. Overly sentimental and clumsy. Hawks is the best of the bunch. Huston had the most relevance and variety up to the 80s though.
Someone had a story about going to meet John Huston at a castle he bought in Ireland, and Huston and Peter O’Toole were out in the yard drunk off their asses wearing kimonos riding horses and shooting guns. I think he would’ve been a good friend.
He's good but Ford and Hawks are leagues better
How's The Unforgiven (1960)? Been thinking of giving it a watch.

Nobody on this board knows who that is

>noah cross in chinatown
>gandalf in the rankin bass hobbit
>voice of mr coffin in moby dick
he's kino incarnate
That's the original Gandalf.
He's on the same level as Walsh and Capra, but Ford and Hawks are above him. Ford is greatest filmmaker of all time
Treasure of sierra madre and African queen mogs fords filmography.
Neither of those would even break the top 10 of Ford's filmography
Not much of a top ten, majority of its bogged down by John Wayne’s stale wooden acting chops.

Too bad most of them are forgettable and dated.
>hates John Wayne
>refers to movies as "dated"
way to out yourself as a pleb homosexual
I’m sorry I don’t praise mediocrity.
"I am so glad I didnt give him the Buck Loner special."
It is impossible to hate this character. He is the perverse troony hater who secretly loves them.
>He mogs Ford
Lol no. Huston is only a 'good' director, not massively original.
>t.Pasty potato Black person hands
>"Jesus is a Trick on Black folk!!"
Love wise blood

He lived a very cosmopolitan life. Was a writer and painter in Paris. Then thrived in Hollywood.
Ford is foundational text. Closeted gay happened to define America.
He was the voice of Gandalf in the rankin-bass cartoons
He's Freud movie looks like the most pathetically sappy, mawkish glorification of Freud imaginable.
red badge of courage is kino
