John Wick 1-4 are really the only action movies I've enjoyed in the past ten years. Should I watch IP man since Donnie Yen was in Wick 4? Does anything compare?

You watched Mad Max Fury Road, The Raid Redemption, and The Raid 2 right?
Mad Max, yes and loved it. Never heard of The Raid though so probably gonna go watch that now.
Fair enough, I never take action movies too seriously so I'm down for it even if it gets a little goofy. Unless it's like Bollywood levels of goofy.
You havent heard of the fucking raid? Dude fuck John Wick forget that shit even and exists and prepare to watch an action movie by a horror director that kicks immense fucking ass.
>you havent heard of an Indonesian action film from 2011??????????
Yeah its a good movie but it was never promoted dude. Not hard to believe someone missed it. Go drink a glass of milk and let your autism rest for the night.
I wasn’t surprised he didn’t know it existed, only putting emphasis that this is way above the wick stuff.
I am better than you
>You havent heard of the fucking raid?
Oh, you say things ironically to get internet reactions. My bad.
>Never heard of The Raid
Weird. It was pretty huge due to the kino chorography.
Just be warned that just like the Wicks, Ip Man starts out fantastic and gets more comically stupid (but still decent enough to watch) with each one
why would you enjoy 3 or 4? are you retarded?
Yeah I'm probably kinda retarded but honestly I know they weren't perfect but I enjoy the world and watching Wick fuck people up.
What kino sirs?
Way of the Gun did gun fighting really well. People werent jerking off to "omg see how he did that!" yet and the movie still made an effort to do a lot of real-world, practical tactical stuff really well. Its also a fun movie.
Again, not everything in the movie is realistic. But there are a lot of nice subtle touches if you have been through a moderate level or training or at least appreciate an earlier film that tried. Good movie.

Oh shit I like Benicio Del Toro I'll have to check this one out
Ohhhh fuck man, its so good. It has so many kino scenes, quotable, good characters, and Benicio is at his best. And the plot is interesting

Watch “Nobody” with Bob Odenkirk in it. Same director or writer as JW iirc, and basically the same style of movie.
I saw a scene from this on YouTube randomly and it definitely had Wick vibes but I figured it was a comedy lol
Yeah definitely gotta check it out.
Okay what Action movie do you think is better? Or do you only "not like" things?
he goes through all that to shoot one bullet and drop the gun, lol.
The Police Story series by Jackie Chan has some top-tier action scenes
I've seen this one but it's a fun choice for anyone that hasn't.
I used to like the first movie the best since it was the most grounded and emotional and before the sequels went off the deep end with bullet proof suits and everyone being a career assassin.
But after rewatching them all to prepare for 4 I think I don't like 1 at all any more. It's at times ugly and imitates toughness and coolness. The following films are less believable but the heightened reality works better and its stylish action is supported by lavish production ripped from giallo or spaghetti westerns.
>imitates toughness and coolness
So an action movie. You want him to get ass raped at the gas station scene and watch Big Bang Theory for two hours?
I agree. They jumped the shark from the sequel onwards. Almost impressive really.
>Nobody
>Violent Night

I don't get the hype for the Equaliser films tbh. It's Denzel Washington being the monotone moral fiber keeping American communities together, but he's also an autistic vigilante. It just doesn't work for me, but 2 spent a lot less time fucking about than the 1st did.
Mr. Nobody is the closest one.
Not the same kind of action but the guy who plays Two Face in Nolan's Batman, works in some good action movies!
*blocks your path*
classic. val kilmer is the man.
Ip Man 1 - 2 is pretty good but I haven't bothered ever since they added nonsense bullshit like Mike Tyson in 3
