Is it really that good?
I only really liked the first one.

Would critics lie?
None of us know. It hasn’t released yet. If you’re one of those “Muh realism” fags then you probably won’t like it though. Seems like they keep upping the ante on each film
>Seems like they keep upping the ante on each film
Yeah, it really does feel like they're trying to one-up the previous film with each installment. What will JW5 even be about? Will John finally find peace?
Apparently JW4 ends in a way that can make it the final film, but still leaves the door open for sequels at the same time. The director also alluded that wick won’t necessarily have a “happy” ending. I hope JW5 is the final one. I can’t see them taking it much farther without jumping the shark
>without jumping the shark
it already has with the sequel and the third, they just went overboard too fast
I think this is supposed to be the final movie. The plan was to originally film 4 and 5 back to back but they didn't, I think they just combined the 2 movies into this one because of how long it is. Now Chad, the director, has said he's done with John Wick "for a while", and the supposedly controversial ending, all signs point to this being the final installment.
>the supposedly controversial ending
Joan Wick?
I hope the final act has John fighting thousands of people in this huge sprawling firefight/kung-fu battle across the city. After an hour, he's down to the last couple bad guys, he's been shot up and beat to shit and they're all barely able to fight. He finally wins and collapses to the ground completely exhausted and close to death. He slowly closes his eyes and the screen turns white. Suddenly his eyes shoot open and a mechanical disconnect sound is heard as something is pulled from his neck. He looks around confused then realizes he's in a bed in the simulation room aboard the Nebuchadnezzar hovership and Trinity has just removed the neck plug pulling him out of their on-board matrix. She smiles and congratulates him on getting the new high score in the game, easily blowing Morpheus's previous high score away.
It'll go full JRPG-mode and he'll fight God at the end.
Chris Stuckman having nothing negative to say kind of gives me some optimism.
The first one was also his favourite and he says 4 is objectively the best, so I'm actually excited to see it now. I really didn't like certain parts of 3, so I'm hoping 4 can redeem it.
/ourguy/ Jeremy jahns also loved it. It’s kino time
Can't believe we have a 4 movies about a guy getting revenge over a dog... Cinema is truly dead....
>ummmmmmmmmmmmm where are muh deep generational conflicts and backstory leading up to world-changing regime conquering stories???
Sometimes you need some guy to take revenge for a dog.
i had no idea there was even going to be a 4th one
Why do people dislike 3? I’m in the minority who believes these films get better with each entry
I agree with you
For me, it's 1>3>2
>Final boss is the nephew of the Iron Chef chairman
nah, bro. Not for me.
I only saw 1 and 3. 1 was alright but felt a bit half-baked compared to the hype. 3 was like a fucking videogame. it was exhausting. some good action but it's so relentless and poorly justified that it loses its punch.
I forget which ones are which and they all start to blend.
But it just lost the tightness of the first movie in the sequels.
First movie was nice and low key
>dude gets fucked with
>turns out he’s actually a badass assassin
>gets revenge
>relatively low key and grounded, 1 man vs the Russian mob
Simple and clean. The action elevates it.
The sequels started going full retard with muh sekrit assassin ring that runs the world. And 30 different assassin tokens of special meaning. It stopped feeling like 1 guy taking on the mob and now it’s a bunch of extremely cinematic set pieces that just makes it feel like a generic movie.
I just miss how simple and tight the first movie was.
in 2 they introduced that secret order basically hinting that he'll take down all of the mafias in the sequels, then 3's premise is him chimping out on santino and losing his privileges for petty reasons, then everyone else decides to help him in some way despite the risk of being killed themselves, and then to redeem him they made up some even higher entity than the board, and then he immediately renounces that opportunity. it's just overwhelming
We're all in agreement we would drink out of a bottle that Halle Berry spit water into, right?
RIP Lance Reddick
lol how do you know about this
There's a sticky, dude.
Oooh. In real life?! Holy shit that's ironic
How so?
I’m a simple man.
I like guns
I like women
And I like seeing men murder their way through crowds of people.
Give me these things and I am happy
Thanks for the heads up, anon. I'm looking forward to it.
Are there more random cameos like Boban in 3?
There are a couple in there, but for the most part everybody is already known.
Scott Atkins was supposed to be a surprise but Lionsgate went full retard
All the John Wick movies are fuckin badass. I can't wait for part 4 bros
:´(
I saw it a few days ago at a screening and I definintely thought it was the best movie in the series. And this is coming from someone who was tired of the series and thought JW3 was overbloated and too long. It includes a lot of the weird JW world lore that I actually enjoy (and make the series more than just a generic action movie) and it ends in a way that seems final
3 > 1 > 2
