It’s because it’s inherently vague and the term puritan is only applied to people as an insult now. It’s stuff like media being bad for you, male identity stuff, nofap, hatred for anti-establishment thought and any belief system that goes against the idea of some things being sacred (like cynicism and nihilism), attempting to bring religiously founded philosophical concepts like hedonism and materialism back into society, resurrecting herd mentality and spreading the belief that people who don’t fit within what they deem as normality are born bad, “bullying is the natural response to pathological behavior!”, “who cares, get a job”, et cetera. It used to be that the internet was a home away from it, now it’s descending onto the internet in full.
In that case I'd say that it the show isn't a representation of those ideas and the claim that the creator is of that entire mentality because of it is wrong.
