isn't there some wacky drug where if you drink it will make you really sick?
recall hearing Scott Hall, aside from just actually being Scott Hall in general, would get violently sick while trying to deal with his alcoholism

Yeah, it exists, but it’s surprisingly useless because of the paradox that if you have enough willpower to force yourself to take the pills every day, then you probably also have enough willpower to not drink without the drug

The sad truth is that it's a lot like playing pac-man: nearly all alcoholics eventually fall off the wagon (then get back again then fall off again ad nauseam)
But don't let that discourage you, if you're feeling good and doing good keep at it

        Anonymous

The secret is to have a mentality of “frick yeah, I just went a whole 30 days without having a drink, I’m getting stronger, next time I’ll do 31+ days” and not “oh no I fell off the wagon after 30 days, I’m such a fricking failure”

I started eating thc gummies instead of drinking

I went nearly 4 months before caving two weeks ago and having a bottle of wine and three beers. I half regret and half feel it was needed to get rid of the notion that beer/wine can be okay because my problem in the past was with spirits. Had a shit hangover, recovered, and now no desire for any alcohol. Got to make it to October now for 1/3 of a year sober

                Anonymous

and I appreciate your words, but even attempting to 'treat' them atp would be pointless as I'd have to invent some kind of way to even qualify it as depression
to go back to my destroyed town analogy .. theres nothing there. just emptiness that for better or worse is filled with alcohol/drugs without me being outwardly destructive in the process

Ngl every post you make is just making you sound more and more like you have severe clinical depression anon.

My argument would be that it’s worth trying treatment, because it’s not as if you have anything to lose from trying, and if it makes your life even 1% better than it would be completely worth the minimal effort involved

Same. My only motivation is to ease off every so often so I don't feel/look like absolute shite. My face tells a bad sad story.

I feel I'm in same situation as you. There's just nothing in my life and no hope for me. I've been completely alone for years and years. TV and movies are the only friends I need.

I'm going to watch some golf kino tonight with Mark Rylance and Sally Hawkins.
