    Kino s1
    Good s2
Terrible s3 with a literal troony ending.

This, but not really the troony thing. You being a different sex in a different dimension goes way back before the troony shit. But it was just trash because it was a terrible story not because of anything else.
First season was insane though, I miss it so much when there were so many possibilities. Sadly almost all of the payoffs ended up not being that interesting or made no sense.

    >Writing a story for like two years about a guy who guys back in time and undoes his own birth for the good of humanity
    >watch dark
    >Someone already made it
    GOD DAMMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT

even if my story is different I can just read the fricking smug Cinemaphile comment now.
    >uhh isn't this just like dark you fraud xd

      tv got filtered by s3

      s1 god tier kino
s2 once in a life time tier kino
      s3 elder god tier kino

      write it anyway
make it great and it wont matter that it resembles dark

      Kino s1

Terrible s3 with a literal troony ending.

      cringe

it's like watching steins;gate on hard mode. can't tell who's who cause it's all german and 3 dif timelines, way too many dudes to learn all the german names etc.
but overall good watch, liked the ending.

It's been a long time but isn't that the story of The Butterfly Effect? Probably others if I thought about it.
There are only 38 stories, you'd have to be illiterate to think you can write something new.

... uh... anon... one of the endings of this 2004 film is the protagonist going back and strangling himself with his umbilical cord in the womb.

steins;gate was more entertaining and had a better ending. dark is nowhere close to real kino.

Maybe one of the most overrated shows on this board, and that's saying something.
It's a CW-tier show that dangles the carrot of time-travel and parallel universes in front of you while the bulk of every episode is moronic boomers cheating on their spouses and a teenage love triangle so tedious you pray all three die horribly. It's basically a fricking soap opera.

Interesting but falls apart and becomes overly convoluted.
Also bait and switch mystery killer for time travel.

I didn't like any of the time travel stuff. Jonas and Martha and the raincoat were cool though.

great show, midwits are filtered very often and will say nothing makes sense or it's convoluted when really it spells everything out for you
s3 actually wrapped it all in a nice bow

if it makes it any better in the end they decided to kill themselves and their two worlds only because they knew there were living without free will, just two pawns without the right to choose, doomed to relive the same depressing shit over and over again
the ending isn't entirely nihilistic, it's kind of beautiful even in its own way

introducing parallel realities was a mistake and definitely made the series jump the shark. up until the very last episodes I still had no fricking clue of what the actual objective of either group was, and I think they didn't know either because the actual origin of this mess was completely unrelated and felt super random.
    >oh btw, this background character who made a timemachine because of how the timeloop works, he actually made a doomsday machine in ANOTHER dimension that created these two
and by the way, what even was the apocalypse? from what they show it just seems like winden became chernobyl but that's it
still, SE1 and 2 were so good that I think it's worth going through 3 regardless of how confusing it was.
I also want to mention that the casting was god tier in this series and basically anyone really looked like their younger and older versions. I had to check that old Ulrich wasn't the main one with just some make up on.

      >casting was god tier
True, nearly entirely white because they need everyone to be related. Why it overcame being in German to be popular anyway.

German existential time travel drama, set in a small misty town in rural Germany, how can you say no?

Yes it's long and winding, you need a fricking chart to remember who did what to who. But I enjoy these kinds of neurotic, complex shows.

I didn't like the attack on nuclear energy as a central theme of the show, Germany is now fricked thanks to shutting down its nuclear plants.

Unfortunately nuclear needs to all be shut down. There won't be people around with the ability to keep it running for much longer.
