Total fucking disappointment. The CGI was way too fucking overdone, the writing was cringe, and the acting was as wooden as a fucking log. Don't even get me started on the forced love story between Anakin and Padmé. It was so cheesy it made me want to puke. And don't even get me started on Jar Jar dipshit Binks. What a fucking waste of screen time. The only good thing that came out of this trilogy was Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi, and even he couldn't save this awful mess.
George Lucas really shat the bed with these movies. Bottom line: if you haven't seen the Star Wars prequel trilogy yet, save yourself the trouble and stick with the original trilogy.
>Just saw this shit for the first time
DUNE sucked as a book, so why surprise the film was bad?
Bot or esl
k
Absolutely based
Attack of the Clones is kino
>t.
/r/prequelmemes is a bastardized version of Sheevposting that started on /misc/ fucking newfag
it's hillarious cause I checked and currently the sub has 2.4 million subs
holy fucking reddit. prequels are peak reddit.
Stoklasa won.
>Stoklasa won.
t.Stoklasa
The worst part is that Mew is represented as one of the heroes in the movie, but you can't even catch him in the main game. you can only catch Mew Two. Wtf, man!
>CGI was overdone
It was the very first movie that used CGI to this level. George invented a lot of techniques for this movie that shaped the current VFX landscape. Do you also dislike black and white movies?
>Writing was cringe
Read more Shakespeare
>Acting was wooden
Nah some couldn't handle the dialogue for sure and butchered performances but plenty of actors in those movies understood the writing and delivered fantastic performances.
>Jar Jar
Understandable but at the same time I'd rather he return to the series than see another Glup Shitto origin
>It was the very first movie that used CGI to this level. George invented a lot of techniques for this movie that shaped the current VFX landscape
So it created the current saturated CG capeshit film industry. Great job George.
>Do you also dislike black and white movies?
Black and white movies were simply held back by technology at the time. George had the choice to do what he did with the original trilogy but he decided to "innovate" with technology that wasn't ready yet.
>Read more Shakespeare
It was wannabe Shakespeare. Plenty of writers pay homage to past works but that doesn't mean that new thing is good.
>Nah some couldn't handle the dialogue for sure and butchered performances but plenty of actors in those movies understood the writing and delivered fantastic performances.
The only standout performance was with Palpatine but we don't get that until halfway through the third movie.
>It was the very first movie that used CGI to this level.
Doesn't make it good.
>Read more Shakespeare
You are genuinely retarded if you think this shit is anything like Shakespeare.
>but plenty of actors in those movies understood the writing and delivered fantastic performances.
You can count them on one hand.
>Do you also dislike black and white movies?
No, because black and white films don't look like shit. Some of my favorite photography (still and cinematic) is black and white and a lot of people hold a specific fondness for it which is why it persists even today.
>Read more Shakespeare
You've never read Shakespeare.
The PT filters another.
I love the prequels because of how scholcky they are. With the terrible acting, schizophrenic plot, and genuinely cool action, they end up coming off as big budget Godfrey Ho movies and I think that's pretty cool
You wish. Go away, George. Grow a chin with money or something.
Jar-Jar is such a harmless non-issue, it makes me wonder if people who criticize him are just regurgitating ancient talking points. he's a comic relief sidekick for fuck's sake, why do people hate him so much? everything in Phantom is absolutely perfect. Attack of the Clones is where it gets shifty but Revenge of the Sith is as good of a comeback as you could ask for.
>he's a comic relief sidekick for fuck's sake, why do people hate him so much?
Because he's a shitty comic relief sidekick.
>everything in Phantom is absolutely perfect
lol
>The CGI was way too fucking overdone
Reddit opinion
PM was mostly practical effects
AOTC was bleeding edge at the time but the tech wasn't there yet so it looks like shit on Blu-ray but great if you watch the original film release
ROTS still holds up
>PM was mostly practical effects
So that's your only example? Even then George covered up a ton of shit with CG.
>AOTC was bleeding edge at the time but the tech wasn't there yet so it looks like shit on Blu-ray but great if you watch the original film release
>ROTS still holds up
Both look worse as time goes on.
>Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi,
It was decent casting, but the prequels don't do Obi-Wan as a character any favors. Almost everything interesting about him is drained out. Even the droll attitude that McGregor captures so well ends up tied to some awful lines.
>Another happy landing.
What?
The movies are so fucking dumb even the incredible posters don't come out unscathed. Just look at Yoda on the ROTS poster.
You talk like a redditor so it’s not surprising that you have reddit opinions.
Reddit loves the prequels
Where are these examples of overused CGI?
Not sure about that scene in particular but the rest of the Jedi Temple was made up of miniatures, so highly likely that one is too
>this guy again
>get called out
>I-I was pretending to be retarded all along ha gotchu!
Looks airbrushed to me.
Man, you've watched this movie "for the first time" like 100 times now. Stop spamming, you retarded attention whore.
OP here, I hadn't even watched Star Wars until last year. I had seen snippets of A New Hope and some of the others but decided to check them out for myself. In my friend groups as a child I was always swarmed with people always asking me "WHAAA YOU HAVEN'T SEEN STAR WARS?" Same thing with Back to the Future.
The prequels are good because I saw them in theaters when they came out as a kid. Whereas the sequels suck ass because they came out when I was an adult. Also, morons.
The Sequels are legitimately garbage though. Kids don’t care about them. The ST is a cancer that is eating Star Wars away in every direction because Iger and Kennedy still want to tie EVERYTHING into those fucking awful franchise ruining movies
Prequelfags are the biggest copers on the internet
>Prequelfags are the biggest
And you know what being the biggest makes us, filthy mousekek? WINNERS. get high grounded retard.
>prequelfags are still doing the “if you don’t like that prequels you’re a Disney shill routine”
It’s all so tiresome
You have shit taste and don’t know what you’re talking about. Take your trash Reddit letter media opinion somewhere else.
I don't watch garden gnomeTube and reddit seems to love this shit for whatever reason. Go back.
Revenge of the Sith is the worst in the entire franchise. Lucas is a shit writer and director, Anakin's arc was ruined in the third instalment, and Lucas' indulgence for CGI is severally outdated and exactly why the MCU has turned into shit.
What's the go with that anon that's always calling George a hack. He knows he's not a hack, right
I don't think it's the worst, but the way people elevate it so far above AOTC and TPM feels superficial to me. It's the movie where all the shit people expected happens, but it's not really much better than AOTC otherwise.
Don't get me wrong, the Disney schlop sequels are terrible, and I'd watch the prequel trilogy over them any day of the week, but anyone who says SW fiilms are objectively good outside the OT are either trolling or autistic.
You just said the prequels are better than the sequels
Yes, I did. I'm comparing dog shit to cat shit. Both are shit, but one of them tastes better.
I'm so glad someone finally decided to tell it how it is with these movies. Well done, OP, and thankyou for taking a few minutes out from fucking your 10/10 gfs tight snatch to bring us these original, groundbreaking views. Fucking fantastic stuff.
Well see that's what happens when you direct from a comfy chair with a nice assistant delivered latte.
>The CGI was way too fucking overdone
Have you watched any blockbuster movie the last 10 years?
Yes, and most blockbusters with CGI fuck fest scenes are garbage films. What's your point?
>The only good thing that came out of this trilogy was Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi, and even he couldn't save this awful mess.
you're totally on point
You, sir, do not have kino taste. You lose!
1 and 3 are the best movies in the series.
>virgin incel: on love
Kek.
>ruined anakin story
This was the end route from the start. You don’t understand his character
