I assume directors are always responsible for bad acting but not always responsible for good acting. So I assume this director in my opinion is a very good sequence director if thats the right term but not a very good performance director. And I think that may have something to do with why Art the Clown is silent. Which works really well but I think its possible that came from a place of necessity. Because as I recall every single performance in this film was fricking atrocious especially the mother's was absolutely rancid. Except for the lead Lauren LaVera who I was extremely impressed with. Which I assume was not a result of Damien's direction.

No, the point is to be entertained and for the movie to have a vibe that allows for some amount of talking and funny comments. I wouldn't suggest something like A Serbian Film for horror movie night because the disturbance factor outweighs the entertainment factor too much.

I plan on watching it again, but my first watch impressions last Halloween night were that it still felt too low budget (which I don't feel works in the modern era), way too long for the kind of movie it wanted to be, and the only thing it really offered was the Halloween setting and the gore scenes.
It's closer to the kind of movie I want to see from young directors, but I fear that Damien Leone is getting up his own ass too soon, when more self-awareness could help him become a great name in modern horror

Art goes on a new killing spree, lures Sienna into fighting him, pretending to lose, then overpowers her at the last moment. Sienna gets brutally tortured by Art and the clown girl and is turned into burger patties used at a local restaurant. Her brother Johnathan picks up Sienna's sword and becomes the next hero, killing Art in a brutal fashion. Clown girl suddenly appears in front of Johnathan and punches a hole through his chest.
