I loved it. I enjoyed the way the violence was portrayed as petty, ugly and almost pathetic. It made you feel disgusted. No aspect of the violence was portrayed as cool.

Did we watch the same movie? List three scenes that meet that description because it all fell short to me. Wasted the talent of people like Tony Soprano and Tyler Durden.

The scene where they beat Ray up, the scene where Brad Pitt double taps the fat middle man, and the scene where Brad Pitt shoots the main character in the head in the car

yeah the scene in the parking garage alone refutes that filtered dork

Bloated, preachy, pseud leftist allegory that fell very short. The movie took itself way too seriously, I think these people forgot that they are pretending and not actually from the mafia.
Also, nobody fricking talks like that, it is all so... manufactured. Compared this to the fun of Casino and Goodfellas.

Nearly flawless casting, Andrew Dominik's take on the source material is fantastic and it's a very competently made movie altogether. I can see why Pitt went through fire and water with Big Harv to make this happen. It was clearly a passion project for him.
Too bad most people went into the cinema with completely wrong expectations. Keep in mind this is not necessarily their fault. I just wish the creators communicated better what the KTS experience is about, though I can't say how that should've been achieved.

Pure kinography that started my Scoot McNairy obsession. Insane to think I share a board with mouth breathing morons filtered by a simple yet effective flick like this. Also works amazing as a sort of unofficial Sopranos continuation.

Ah yes, that guy I keep thinking is called Skeet Ulrich.

Chopper is an utter classic and Assassination of Jesse James mostly bored me aside from Sam Shephard's cameo. I'm not ready to for another Dominik film.

A bad script well-directed. There's stuff I liked in this movie but overall it's not a good movie

whoever was most responsible for how this looked, either the director or DP or both, really tried to make this movie look cool
if you watch movies for how they look, and practically nothing else, you should check it out
I didn't like the movie overall. just a lot of talk talk talk, but without anything interesting or memorable. a pretty crazy stacked cast, but that just made it even more disappointing
also they used "Heroin" by the Velvet Underground during a scene where the two dudes are doing heroin. whoever made that decision deserves to be shot

Thanks anon, I'll never watch this movie now. It already looked very on the nose from what I've seen. Shame we'll never get a reckoning for 2008, they got away with it all.

It was so corny. The Obama/McCain voiceovers are so fricking dated. And Brad Pitt was one of the worst parts of the movie.
