Lincoln signed the first federal income tax into law, favored government spending, gave HUGE handouts to immigrants and employers seeking to employ immigrants, but his response to the argument of "states rights" is probably what's best known. Big Government Northern Liberal.

You're correct, but what i should have said was "short term normie nostalgia", when the fiilty stinky normies gather in a row to post "I REMEBER DAT OMG DOPE NO CAP". Sometimes, like in the case of bayformers, the normies will be successfully captured, but that didn't seem to happen with this one.

I mean it's got people talking about He-Man more than they have in years, which probably translated into toy sales. You can argue "they're talking about it because culture wars" but to Mattel a sale is a sale. Beyond that it was on Netflix's Top Ten for longer than is normal for an animated series.
It wasn't a Breakout Hit to revitalize the fandom, but it's probably gotten a good return for the investment.

Netflix's She-Ra got people talking about He-Man more than either He-Man show did. It may not have been a flop, but Mattel just didn't give people characters to latch onto.

That's reasonable, i guess. That said, although hopefully the people at Mattel are levelheaded, Nowadays if it isn't an earth shattering groundbreaking success, it's considered a disappointment (see: the DCEU). It got interest, but who know if it's getting the results they want.

That's the best part, it's literally coming out of Kevin Smith's cargo short pockets.
I express extreme skepticism. "Executive Producer" is an extremely nebulous term. Even with movies it doesn't always mean "they paid for it" and this isn't a movie.
Mattel went to him. I doubt they went to him and said "please make this show. Also please pay for it."
Then why wouldn't he just be the "producer", "Executive Producer" implies that an individual is supplying more monetary support and a more passive role (who makes the final dissension) rather then anything to hands on.
Again, they went to him. They asked him to write/direct. It'd be weird as fuck for them to also go "and pay for it too." A lot of hollywood titles are meaningless. "He wanted a better title than just director, so we said he's an executive producer too."
It would be really really strange for Mattel and Netflix to ask Kevin Smith to pay for a He-Man show to put on Netflix.
Go ahead and brag now trannoids, but you won't be laughing in the end. If this isn't canceled before release, it will be an utterly forgettable wet fart that no one watches accept to make fun of it. When that happens, I can't wait to see how quiet you fucking homosexuals get.
What canceled Netflix show would they have wanted that got canceled while this got made? Nobody alive wanted Antiracist Baby, not even on the twitteriest corners of twitter.
You can't spin this as somehow a win for the chuds that hate the show. This isn't 5D chess, it's just a show getting more episodes while haters seethe.
I mean, I'll take it, but damn if I could've picked this, Bone, Wings of Fire, Glitch Techs, or any of half a dozen other "dead" Netflix animations, I wouldn't have picked this.
Still better than most of what's being announced over on Disney+ though, and when this and a couple other things wrap up it's gonna be bleak as fuck for the next few years. If you're older than 12 it's looking to be the start a new dark age of American animation.
This show wasn't on the cancellation slate like those listed because it was produced by Mattel Television, with animation by Powerhouse Studios. Netflix Animation Studios has nothing to do with it, and Netflix itself only dedicates resources to streaming it, nothing more.
[...] >increased toy sales! >All the Revelation exclusive stuff shelfwarmed for months
You know that Masterverse consists of more than just the Revelation subline, yes? The three(!) other sublines more than cover Revelation's shortfall.
Looks like the Toyline is "course correcting". There's also She-ra & Catra in the Masterverse stuff.
For me, Revolution represents a second chance to have a Masterverse Oracle (provided that he's not killed off again), a and shippers' hope for the continued(?) existence of Evelork. Toot toot.
>and Netflix itself only dedicates resources to streaming it, nothing more.
That's a lie.
Kevin Smith made it very clear that Netflix exec Ted Biaselli was in control of story and characters, and Biaselli confirmed in interviews that he was directly responsible for making He-man's grandfather black and race-swapping Andra.
He said he'd be down for a crossover (which would never happen for legal reasons anyway) and also said "it was incredibly original, they took the material and made it into something new that more people could appreciate than ever appreciated before."
>i-it increased toy sales!
Unless I see definite proof that the increase isn't a one off thing to own thd chuds, I refuse to believe MOTU made any positive impact towards the brand.

And it DID increase the toy sales because the toyline we're talking about wouldn't fucking exist without Revelation
AND that toyline is, by Mattel's own reports, one of their top three lines right now, mentioned alongside their Jurassic World line.
>course correcting
Masterverse was always intended as an all-encompassing MOTU flagship line, just like Marvel Legends or Star Wars TVC/TBS. Hence the name of the line.
Except the tie-in cartoon was Revelations. They didn't launch with Teela. They launched with ugly dude with shaved head.
From where I'm standing, it's course correcting. Because other than Savage He-man and Skelegod, there was nothing of worth in that show. But I could be wrong and they'll release a He-vil Lyn figure. At the very least, it'd be funny to put into a jar.

Was this that popular? Outside of culture war bullshit and normie 80's nostalgia, i didn't hear much about this one
No, so this is likely some 2 season+ deal. Disenchanted had a multi season deal, Netflix lost a lot of money on that.
The trailer for part 1 of S1 had over 8 million views, the one for the second part only 1. Outrage was all it had
The cgi kids show version was unironically better lol
He man also literally can't transform without the sword in the original and it's a sequal to the original
Most animation shows get multiple seasons deals. It flopped big. The second half didn't even made it in Netflix top 10 anymore
Meh. Tell me when they announce season 2 of Seis Manos.
I’m just disappointed that Kevin smith still has a career. I don’t get why trannies and homosexuals are such corporate whores though.

The first season was disappointing, but there's always the possibility of improvement.
Not with the same writers that shat out the first season. The only thing this new show had going for it was good looking animation.
That alone put it above the other MOTU shows for me. I'm not optimistic. I like MOTU but it's never had much luck with fiction for whatever reason.
Do I still need to have seen the original He-Man to understand what the fuck was going on or what?

It's as woke as it gets.

He wouldn't know.

Just pointing out, Adora would be a MUCH bigger deal. Not even disagreeing.

This never happens.

Fixed that for you.
Huh I kinda forgot this existed uh well back to to not watching it
