Masterverse has been selling fairly well, yes.

      Is that the shera sword?

No, the Sword of Protection has a blue gem set into the blade.

Do I still need to have seen the original He-Man to understand what the frick was going on or what?

Despite claims to the contrary, it is in no way a sequel to HMatMotU.

      Who's footing the bill?

Mattel. It's their toy commercial, after all.

Lincoln signed the first federal income tax into law, favored government spending, gave HUGE handouts to immigrants and employers seeking to employ immigrants, but his response to the argument of "states rights" is probably what's best known. Big Government Northern Liberal.

You're correct, but what i should have said was "short term normie nostalgia", when the fiilty stinky normies gather in a row to post "I REMEBER DAT OMG DOPE NO CAP". Sometimes, like in the case of bayformers, the normies will be successfully captured, but that didn't seem to happen with this one.

I mean it's got people talking about He-Man more than they have in years, which probably translated into toy sales. You can argue "they're talking about it because culture wars" but to Mattel a sale is a sale. Beyond that it was on Netflix's Top Ten for longer than is normal for an animated series.

It wasn't a Breakout Hit to revitalize the fandom, but it's probably gotten a good return for the investment.

                Anonymous

Netflix's She-Ra got people talking about He-Man more than either He-Man show did. It may not have been a flop, but Mattel just didn't give people characters to latch onto.

                Anonymous

That's reasonable, i guess. That said, although hopefully the people at Mattel are levelheaded, Nowadays if it isn't an earth shattering groundbreaking success, it's considered a disappointment (see: the DCEU). It got interest, but who know if it's getting the results they want.

I express extreme skepticism. "Executive Producer" is an extremely nebulous term. Even with movies it doesn't always mean "they paid for it" and this isn't a movie.

Mattel went to him. I doubt they went to him and said "please make this show. Also please pay for it."

Then why wouldn't he just be the "producer", "Executive Producer" implies that an individual is supplying more monetary support and a more passive role (who makes the final dissension) rather then anything to hands on.

          Anonymous

Again, they went to him. They asked him to write/direct. It'd be weird as frick for them to also go "and pay for it too." A lot of Hollywood titles are meaningless. "He wanted a better title than just director, so we said he's an executive producer too."

It would be really really strange for Mattel and Netflix to ask Kevin Smith to pay for a He-Man show to put on Netflix.

I mean, I'll take it, but damn if I could've picked this, Bone, Wings of Fire, Glitch Techs, or any of half a dozen other "dead" Netflix animations, I wouldn't have picked this.

Still better than most of what's being announced over on Disney+ though, and when this and a couple other things wrap up it's gonna be bleak as frick for the next few years. If you're older than 12 it's looking to be the start a new dark age of American animation.

This show wasn't on the cancellation slate like those listed because it was produced by Mattel Television, with animation by Powerhouse Studios. Netflix Animation Studios has nothing to do with it, and Netflix itself only dedicates resources to streaming it, nothing more.

Those are Origins (5.5"), not Classics (7").

Well anyway, they're a version of the original figures, I'm keeping fingers crossed for more of those, netflix garbage be damned.

    >Chud

And you lost any argument you had, I refuse to take anyone who uses that word unironically serious. That word is stupid and childish and shows your insecurities by raising a shield to deflect any constructive criticism.

I'll give this he-man one thing, he made me watch the original and the cgi one and that is much better than this piece of shit show.

So go ahead hide behind buzzwords, hide behind slurs but at the end of the day calling me a chud will not sway my opinion and you can stew in your anger about it.

      How churlish of you.

I'm not the one forcing a word no one takes seriously in defense of a show that slapped fans in the face by a liar who sold his nuts to Hollywood

The best thing that came out from nuShera was the chance to talk shit about abusive lesbian relationships everyone simped for. That train has gone long time ago, what do we get from the new season? Wasn't the story already written with a start and finish? What season 2 has to offer we already didn't get?

    Straight to dvd material.

    >Netflix is trimming out woke in order to profit
    >LET'S GIVE KEVIN SMITH HE-MAN A SEQUEL
Kevin Smith must give really good blow jobs.

He-Man Revelations getting the "woke" label is one of the most surreal animation-related experiences I've had in recent years. It's astoundingly devoid of "woke" content. Amphibia is more woke. Fricking Bobs' Burgers is more woke.

        LOL.

The show sidelines the main character He-Man in favor of Teela and later Evil-Lyn, raceswaps Adora and make her a love interest of Teela (who is now suddenly lesbian), raceswaps He-Man's grandfather into a black dude.

It's as woke as it gets.

Mixing up the name Adora with Andra, omg!

Just pointing out, Adora would be a MUCH bigger deal. Not even disagreeing.

I am excited to see He-Man and his friends fight stuff and I think Hordak will be cool and evil

So this show is allowed to use Hordak, but not any other She-Ra characters, correct? Seems weird.

The MOTU rights look like a sentence out of The Critique of Pure Reason. Despite originally being long-lost siblings and portrayed as such in the 80s show, the comics, and the planned Season 3 to the 200x series, He-Man and She-Ra can no longer actually appear in the same show.

Is this season 2 of HeMan and the 3d-cgi moba champions of the universe? Because I like that show and look forward to more
