Kinda unpopular but..

Does anyone not trust Disney with Deadpool or am I alone here? I feel like the recent MCU stuff has been shitty. I know people are excited but he’s an easy character to flanderize and turn into “LE FUNNY CHIMICHANGA”, also I really dislike the TVA.

You guys can get excited, I don’t care, I know Cinemaphile likes the current MCU multiverse saga. But Disney handling Deadpool gives me a bad feeling in my gut….

You mean like Ryan Reynolds already has with the character and the previous movie ? That's all he is and all he will ever be until people get tired of the shtick, hell they already were until he had to bring up washed up jackman to boost the movie sales, that movie was going to be a dud without him.

I’ll give them this, I agree Tom was pretty handsome in the earlier days of Marvel, and this is coming from a bisexual man. But now I don’t see the appeal. Maybe if we’re talking about modern Comic Loki I could see it. Not to mention, Loki overstayed his welcome after Infinity War, I never hated the character like some people on this board do, I thought he was kinda interesting, but come the series I really ended up disliking him. Disney will keep milking him for some reason, however. He’s already going to be in DP3 and Avengers 5.

          Deadpool lack of iconic villain

Eh, a character doesn’t need a main villain to be good.

The first two movies, relative to costs and marketing, were highly profitable. Unless this movie makes less than $700M, it should be considered profitable and a success, and if it makes closer to $900M or more, it can be considered comparably comparable to the prior two films.

Like most discussions of box office on Cinemaphile, this is all stupid and genuinely imbecilic, in any event, before July when you can at least point to facts like pre-sales and tracking data. And even that isn't useful and helpful, since pre-sales and tracking for The Flash didn't indicate it was going to fail as much as it did - until the final tracking dropped by quite a bit (likely as a response to the social campaign against Ezra).

Marvel's making it PG if it goes to the MCU and I don't want that. Same for the xmen. It's just not gonna be the same, but their main target audience is emotionally underdeveloped adults unfortunately.

They already made a point of saying FRICKING like four or five times in a less than 2 minute trailer for the final trailer. MPAA does allow ONE frick in a movie and let's you keep a PG-13 but even if there's no blood or gore or violence, two will get you an R rating.

I never really liked Deadpool to begin with

        me neither

Panels can be entertaining, the books themselves even are meh.

I don't trust ANYONE with Deadpool. He's always going to be an annoying over used over promoted character

this is closer to my opinion but I'll still probably go see the movie in a theater but on a Discount Tuesday day at $7 a pop.

I still have zero hope in this film being good simply because I don’t trust Disney. But there’s no doubt in my mind it’s gonna be phenomenal and overhyped. All MCU films this big usually are, shit or not. Look at Loki and Endgame. Two things that are mid and terrible and the normies still wont shut up about them being mastepieces. So no, I’m not denying this film will blow it out of the park, I’m denying it will be good. And I’m saying they’re using washed up, aging actors like Jackman and Hiddleston to draw in a crowd and random comic cameos. Normies are easily pulled in by that. What I’m also not looking forward to is the rerise of Deadpool cosplayers coming to local cons, as well.

      Deadpool survived Secret Wars intact.

Ms Marvel was the one who got fricked over, as after Secret Wars, she ended up being dragged into the greater Marvel Universe and sales on her book collapsed because the few non-comic readers reading her books bailed because they didn't want super hero shit or crossovers, just slice of life garbage with their self-insert.

Eh, people are saying Loki and Moon Knight saved the MCU because they “weren’t woke” and the MCU is still trash. (Granted, I liked Moon Knight and didn’t like Loki.) I don’t have much hope for Deadpool 3, and I liked the first two films. And the fact the TVA and Loki are involved is a recipe for disaster to me- mainly because I dislike the multiverse saga (And Loki fans). :/ I’ve given modern MCU way too many chances, and I don’t think a masculine character like Deadpool or Wolverine can save them, especially since we know Normies love Waypool. (I mean, look at these dumbass cosplayers acting like complete morons.)

You gotta think, there’s been plenty of MCU actors who loved their characters and defended the hell outta them that allowed the Mouse to frick them up. Whatever hope I have for the MCU is dead and I’m honestly, unless a miracle happens, am done with it. I like Jackman and Reynolds, but there’s no saving the MCU. Though I like your optimism.

Rob Liefeld and Fabian Nicieza described the creation of Deadpool as Rob designing a character who was originally just going to be a one-off villain with a look that was meant to be sort of an evil ninja with a vaguely Spider-Man look and build, but Nicieza pointed out the plot is about an evil merc fighting a team of teens, and how that's Deathstroke's whole thing, so they leaned into it by making Deadpool's real name an in-joke based on the Deathstroke connection. That's all there really was to it.
