it depends on how much the actor shot up until their death. terry gilliam handled it well with heath ledger and the imaginarium of dr. parnassus by using what ledger shot and then recasting him with multiple different actors to serve the narrative. while it wasn't the best movie, it was a fantastic way to honor the performance that was given yet still salvage the plot in a whimsical, engaging, and poignant way.
with disney specifically, they've been wildly inconsistent with this sort of thing. invariably they'll end up doing whatever satisfies the contracts and makes them the most money. boseman was a good actor and deserves better than to be used as a prop to conjure up george floyd 2020 imagery for a superhero movie trailer. it's an odd choice to have the audience experience the feelings of grief and loss vicariously through the characters, very manipulative and duplicitous. how can you give what is basically a memorial to a real human being a bad review? whatever the answer to your question is, it certainly isn't what is going on here.
