Possibly the most overdone story in movie history. Why not Wolfman, invisible man, Jekyll and Hyde? Anything.

Fine if you want to make slop I guess, just use the most popular thing you possibly can so people will go to your movie just for the name and keep beating that dead horse. I guess that's what you want movies to be.

have you read frankenstein? like the other anon said, most movies don't follow the book at all, this one will
Sure i'd love an adaptation of jekyll and hyde, it is one of my favorite books, but i'm not gonna be mad that del toro is making frankenstein

Actually looking forward to this. Great cast and his style fits the story

The vast majority of adaptations don’t even follow the original book, this one will

Wolfman already had the best remake possible, the other del Taco was great in it, Invisible Man is too perfect and doesn’t ever need a remake, Jekyll and Hyde could use one but current, uh, politics, mean that shouldn’t happen for a while. I think del Toro can do a decent job with Frankenstein, though it’s painful seeing that Arctic setting and knowing we’ll never get Mountains of Madness.

Why thr frick aren't there a ton of indie movies being made from public domain characters? I'd rather see a gritty grindhouse $5m budget movie of Frankenstein than a $200m epic esg horseshit adaptation by a director with vision and passion for the project. Also Del Toro is a shit director, he has been carried by a good cinematographer and vsx director.

Anglicans are Catholics who have no relationship with the Pope and no real reason to exist whatsoever other than monarchical politics from 500 years ago.

They're really just the English church, and everything else is flexible. Want to larp as a Catholic? Anglicans can do that? Presbyterians? Plenty of that look. Unitarians? Bet your sweet bippy you can eb that.

Unitarians are not Christian; they are either Muslims without Muhammad (old Unitarians) or batshit insane woke atheists larping as religious (Unitarian Universalists).

Most of del Taco's works are extremely derivative of his prior ones, and not in a good way. He's no one trick pony, more like a two or three trick pony but I can't say I'm very interested in this. Never bothered with his Pinocchio either (why would I when Garrone just made one?).
