I remember reading back around the time the second movie came out that they had scripts for roughly 'five or six' movies already written or being written.
So Po masters another new skill without trying while humiliating masters and veterans because he is a trash Gary Stu? Even if they avoid doing this I hate these shitty movies by now. The main character is shit and it's way too fricking late for me to even pretend I care about the Jobber Five. Anyone who likes these movies? Get cancer and die.
I actually agree with this. The first two movies were fine with Po's arc as a martial artist, but by the third movie he is firmly in gary stu territory. The simple fix is to refocus back to the Furious Five more.
>I'm too old to watch cartoon movies with my family
That's why you kidnap a child and take them to the theater, it's not weird if there's a kid with you.
They always wanted to make 2 trilogies, with the second one focused more on chi.
That’s why 3 ends with Po teaching everyone how to use it; so the second trilogy can be the DBZ trilogy to the first one’s DB
From way back in 2010 so things could've easily changed >"Yeah, there’s probably a fourth there. Kung Fu Panda actually has 6 chapters to it, and we’ve mapped that out over the years. How To Train Your Dragon is at least three: maybe more, but we know there are a least three chapters to that story. There are actually 8 books."

It's funny how the 2016 threequel had a production so intimiately entwinced with the Chinese government. They even released it in China before the US. I doubt they'd dare do that now
They are bringing back a ton of already dead loves because of the new spiderverse like animation that everyone likes. Get ready for a new madagascar too
It has printed money in China the past and if there’s one thing Dreamworks likes, it’s milking their franchises as much as they can.
That’s why they also keep Dragons going with spin-offs, to sell more toys
The first few shows and Race to the Edge were pretty good. Especially some of the later stuff in Race to the Edge, when they got into their groove and realized that showing death isn’t all that taboo.
(The first two shows were basically just the first two seasons of Race to the Edge, when you consider episode amounts and stuff, but some of the stuff in them do reappear in RTTE)
Great. Another movie where the F5 are sidelined so Po can once more be the Only Important Character. Also, presumably another story about being useless slackers somehow grants you superpowers.
Because the hidden panda village sits on top of the wellspring from which all chi in the universe originates and so generations of living so close to it gives a really big Chi Adept multiplier as a racial trait for all pandas
It is pretty funny that they've essentially invalidated the message of the first movie that the ultimate secret to Kung Fu and becoming the Dragon Warrior was simply believing in yourself when Po had special panda chi powers all along.
They will never surpass 1 or 2, but I'm still excited. I love the characters, animation style and world from KFP.
The only fourth entry from Dreamworks was Shrek 4, which while not great, was way better than 3 and had a good message about Shrek as an overall character. I'll be satisfied with that for KFP.
What could IV be about? Po can come back from the dead, obliterate warlords with chi blasts, and is a kung fu master. What are they going to do, pull a page from the Boruto book and have the antagonist be the evil lunar rabbit clan?
>Acts like a total cold-hearted b***h in the first movie >It's implied that she's like this because she never had a family >Prequel short film shows that she was in fact an orphan >No explanation of how she became one tho >KFP2 comes out >She becomes a lot nicer and more charismatic >Strong implications that she's emotionally hurt deep down because she lost her family just like Po >Think that it's an obvious setup for KFP3 and that the story will be focused on Tigress seeing how the first movie was about Shifu, and the second one about Po >Third movie comes out in 2016 (it took them this long because the story was apparently changed halfway through production) >She does absolutely fricking nothing in the story besides trying to beat sense into Po and make him stop acting like a little b***h >KFP3's official concept art even shows that in the original version of the story she was going to play a bigger role seeing how she was to get hit by a poisonous arrow and Po was supposed to carry her all the way to the panda village to nurse her back to health wich Interestingly ties to plot describing Oogway and Kai's backstory
>Shifu is accidentally killed during sex with Mei Mei >The fat panda's ass shattered his skull and deprive him of air
They are bringing back a ton of already dead loves because of the new spiderverse like animation that everyone likes. Get ready for a new madagascar too
>New Madagascar means more Gloria
Dreamworks, please. I want a higher quality of Gloria's ass. Make her fatter.
>Dreamworks, please. I want a higher quality of Gloria's ass. Make her fatter.
Didn't the last one end with them on a flying circus? Wonder where you could go from there.
KFP2 would've been good if Shen had a stronger backstory/motivation or if he wasn't annoying, if Po was less tediously inmature, if the wolf army wasn't bumbling comic relief, if Tigress was fleshed out (they tease fleshing her out, but don't deliver), if the jokes were funny, and if it didn't have that opening narration. More Shifu would've been appreciated too
KFP2 was great, funny jokes, character development and clear message and unlike other sequels like every single Pixar sequel it actually had a reason to exist and was not forced, Po origins and powers were teased ever since the first one.
>Shen was a manchild
Yes, that is his character, congrats on identifying something so basic. >and his backstory involving that "warrior of black and white" prophecy sucked}
You can just say you didn't get it

Man that would be better then the lew tigress, no homo.

I cant be the only one that felt it, right? How bad will 4 be?
..You’ve already had him master Body, Mind, and Spirit. The 3 keys to becoming enlightened. Literally each of the fricking villains matched each trait (Tai Lung was a physical threat and Po had to hone his mind, Lord Shen was a psychological threat and Pon had to hone his soul. Kai was a spiritual threat and Pi had to hone his very soul.)
Never watched any of the series, anything interesting happens?
I imagine this would be a direct sequel to 3, but would be nice to have a time skip, it's been 6 years
I don't know where they could possibly take this series. Po is almost a god among men with how powerful he is at the end of 3. It,'d be really cool if we got to see other parts of the world. Maybe Po makes first contact with animal people from medieval Europe or ancient Japan.

East vs West is really the only direction I could see the series going and have it be interesting (TV series aside,) but while I do think that the KFP series is uniquely suited to a powerful EvW movie, they're absolutely not going to do it. We're going to get another Kai. We're going to get a guy who shows up out of nowhere, beats up everyone in China and then loses when Po once again learns to believe in himself.
Like, where do even take Po as a character? They were lost for direction by the third movie, there's nothing more for the guy.
They are never going to let the movies rest.
Wasn't KFP always planned to have 6 movies?
I remember reading back around the time the second movie came out that they had scripts for roughly 'five or six' movies already written or being written.
It's popular in China, what do you expect?
Weren't there six movie planned anyway? As long as it's better then 3 it'll be worth it. I'm hopeful
It's been eight fricking years already, they had a very long time to rest
Better late than never, right?
You're thinking of Disney
So Po masters another new skill without trying while humiliating masters and veterans because he is a trash Gary Stu? Even if they avoid doing this I hate these shitty movies by now. The main character is shit and it's way too fricking late for me to even pretend I care about the Jobber Five. Anyone who likes these movies? Get cancer and die.
It is going to be called kung fu panda 4rever
> trash Gary Stu?
nah he is great, he learns fast in his own way which is kind of the message of the movie. The jobber 5 do need more screen time
i just go to the movies during weekdays.
Brappppp
Seethe harder
Seek help
Tbf i wish the Five get the spotlight for once, i have never seen these mfs do anything but jobbing.
I thunk they're colorful enough to carry a movie with Po as support. Maybe have him captured and the 5 have to come save them
I actually agree with this. The first two movies were fine with Po's arc as a martial artist, but by the third movie he is firmly in gary stu territory. The simple fix is to refocus back to the Furious Five more.
If you are talking about the Chi thing, I would say the entire village + tigress learned it first
>https://www.twitter.com/Dreamworks/status/1558181533055193088
>it's real
Wtf
About time, but i won't watch it until it hit torrents. I'm too old to watch cartoon movies with my family UNLESS the movie is god tier
Looks like we have someone trying to fit in with the cool kids. Better not let them catch you watch cartoons!
>I'm too old to watch cartoon movies with my family
That's why you kidnap a child and take them to the theater, it's not weird if there's a kid with you.
>UNLESS the movie is god tier
it's KFP of course it's gonna be god tier. Or at least better than most animated films from 2024
Why do I get this feeling 3 was going to be the grand finale, and no one really wanted to make anything past 3?
They always wanted to make 2 trilogies, with the second one focused more on chi.
That’s why 3 ends with Po teaching everyone how to use it; so the second trilogy can be the DBZ trilogy to the first one’s DB
I know what they said publically. I also think that was a lie, that's all.
where'd you get that information wtf
From way back in 2010 so things could've easily changed
>"Yeah, there’s probably a fourth there. Kung Fu Panda actually has 6 chapters to it, and we’ve mapped that out over the years. How To Train Your Dragon is at least three: maybe more, but we know there are a least three chapters to that story. There are actually 8 books."

Yeah it was egregious in KP3.
With this one though, I feel like by releasing it DreamWorks is trying to prevent World War III.
Not watching unless the villain is The Joker
How is Tigress going to get cucked in this one?
It still hurts.
Not watching unless the villain is Kai's apprentice and also voiced by Aaron Paul
>2008
Don't worry, your soul will be reincarnated. Or you will find a way to extend your lifespan. Both is always an option.
By the time it releases it will have been only 4 years away from the first being released 20 years ago. Fricking think about that...
What possible direction could they take his character now? Is he going to become God?
Parenthood
FINALLY.
he might have actual disciples of his own now.
like actual disciples instead of the shitty panda army he gathered in 3
he already had some in Paws of Destiny
that's not canon
not canon and he just told story to the frickers. I mean a movie about po having to actually teach kung fu.
Yes. KFP4, 5 and 6 will be about cultivation, Daos, and apotheosis. We Xianxia now.
That’s gow Corey actually looks
they finally found a story idea for chapter four?
Turn on CNN, Shark Tale 2 just got announced
They are bringing back a ton of already dead loves because of the new spiderverse like animation that everyone likes. Get ready for a new madagascar too
Dead movies*
I would much prefer a new Madagascar or something to this
Honestly of all the dreamworks franchises, I think Monsters vs Aliens needs a sequel the most
I completely and wholeheartedly agree with you
I just want it to be cute and cannon.
>4 movies
>3 cartoons
Why does dreamworks like this fat panda so much?
It has printed money in China the past and if there’s one thing Dreamworks likes, it’s milking their franchises as much as they can.
That’s why they also keep Dragons going with spin-offs, to sell more toys
Isn't that show dead?
New season on the 18th
Didn't they shove it onto Peawiener?
It's on hulu too
>milking how to train your dragon
The franchise was supposed to be an expanded universe ever since the early novels similar to pokemon.
To me it will only be 3 movies. That's it.
>It has printed money in China the past
That's an understatement, it single-handedly kickstarted China's animation output entirely.
KINO IS BACK ON THE MENU
Bold of Dreamworks to go into essentialism.
They will introduce a brand new strong independent women, for Tigress must suffer.
It is pretty funny that they've essentially invalidated the message of the first movie that the ultimate secret to Kung Fu and becoming the Dragon Warrior was simply believing in yourself when Po had special panda chi powers all along.

He fights literal gods
Is not him god tier right now??
God, please let the movie be about her finally
>Acts like a total cold-hearted b***h in the first movie
>It's implied that she's like this because she never had a family
>Prequel short film shows that she was in fact an orphan
>No explanation of how she became one tho
>KFP2 comes out
>She becomes a lot nicer and more charismatic
>Strong implications that she's emotionally hurt deep down because she lost her family just like Po
>Think that it's an obvious setup for KFP3 and that the story will be focused on Tigress seeing how the first movie was about Shifu, and the second one about Po
>Third movie comes out in 2016 (it took them this long because the story was apparently changed halfway through production)
>She does absolutely fricking nothing in the story besides trying to beat sense into Po and make him stop acting like a little b***h
>KFP3's official concept art even shows that in the original version of the story she was going to play a bigger role seeing how she was to get hit by a poisonous arrow and Po was supposed to carry her all the way to the panda village to nurse her back to health wich Interestingly ties to plot describing Oogway and Kai's backstory
Please Dreamworks don't frick this one up.
po is the only character dreamworks cares about so he's the only one that will get character progression
That and Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy won't come back for another Shrek movie without a significant paycheck.
Sorry po ate tigress character development
>po ate tigress
Hot!
Wasnt the third movie outusourced to China or something like that ?
I can't wait to see Shifu again. They won't kill him off will they?
>Shifu is accidentally killed during sex with Mei Mei
>The fat panda's ass shattered his skull and deprive him of air
>New Madagascar means more Gloria
Dreamworks, please. I want a higher quality of Gloria's ass. Make her fatter.

If he is in the film, he's obviously being recasted

>I didn't like the writers' decisions therefore movie bad
Just another reminder most people cannot review movies.
Yes you stupid redditor frick face, the writer's decisions have consequences you worthless consoomer piece of shit. Get cancer and die unironically
KFP2 was great, funny jokes, character development and clear message and unlike other sequels like every single Pixar sequel it actually had a reason to exist and was not forced, Po origins and powers were teased ever since the first one.
>KFP2 would've been good if Shen had a stronger backstory/motivation or if he wasn't annoying
Congrats on having the worst taste of all time
Shen was a manchild and his backstory involving that "warrior of black and white" prophecy sucked
Fortunately, everyone headcanons the original draft backstory where he really was despised by his family due to being born albino
>Shen was a manchild
Yes, that is his character, congrats on identifying something so basic.
>and his backstory involving that "warrior of black and white" prophecy sucked}
You can just say you didn't get it
I can tell you're seething rn at the news
Can Po be more competent now and not just at the end of the movie. I want more fights like the beginning of 2
Tournament Arc please just give it to us.
Surely they won't make an entire movie about Po going through an identity crisis for a fourth time, right?
The journey of self discovery never ends
Not complaining if it’s handled well, but I’m surprised this series wasn’t marked as completed.
Ugh why
Why not?
Money
I like when she pegs Po
For the LOVE of god! Can we please have the movie center around anyone BUT Po?!
Him being the chosen one in all three films became stale halfway through the second one. The third one dropped the ball hard when they made him a semi-god that banished death. What else is there to do after that?
we need more tigress
Are any of the other characters even worth focusing on?
>What else is there to do after that?
Surprise buttsex. I'm surprised they haven't gone with the romance/"add a kid to spice up the cast" dynamic before. It's funny to see, this franchise is basically the anti-Ice Age.
Whatever they do, they should do a better understanding with the characters, The buffalo dude didn’t really do anything with Turtle dude, it was pretty weak.
Kung Fu Panda 2’s ending still gets me
>I know who I am
>You do?
> I’m your son
So can they finally give Po some nice new outfit that will make him look like an actual leader? A sleeveless version of his black and white outfit from the end of the third movie would be nice.
More Tigress please
>They finally give tigress the body/outfit she deserves.
Man, it might not make the movie good or better. But in my opinion would save it.
Honestly, the 3rd movie with the panda villiage was meh. The po spirt dragon was stupid. Like spirit energy ok, spirit dragon...for no one (but all that china money/veiws)
I'm not sure what Kp4 could even do.
What if Po trains a student and they turn bad? (just like with shifu in 1)
Should shifu die of old age for drama? (Like oogway, also in 1)

Po gets poisoned? (Kinda like goku before saved by trunks)
I do think the po student idea is kinda good.
What if, a female is the villian?
A sexy female. Made she couldn't find a man strong enough for her.
(Ends up lesbo for tigress in end)

What’s that pic from?
Apparently this, I had to google it. I hope no one watches it, i haven't seen it, but i can tell, it looks bad.
Even though i found that dragon image before, my idea of real dragon in kfp came before i found the pic.
Sure, why not. Need more Tigress and Po love moments.
Eh, 3 was really lackluster so I'm going to have my reservations about this.
i know comedy is a subjective thing and everything, but i didn't think the second film was funny, despite trying hard to be
This thread isn't about the second movie moron. We don't care about your opinion on the second movie.
Most of the time, it wasn't really meant to be funny.
Compared to the first and third ones, 2 was a fairly straightforward action flick.
>it wasn't really meant to be funny
except it kind of was? Even the Shen scenes have comedy, like the goat wanting to chew his robes or his interactions with the wolves
Tipo bros will it finally happen?
nah, it will never happen. they'd rather bring back Tai lung from Po's cornfield and make him tigress love interest than giving the shippers what they want.
Tigress is for human men
Smiling happy Tigress is best Tigress.
Po isn't done fricking other species of bear yet. Tigress has to wait in the cuck corner.
Will they move away from the panda village? That's the thing that will make or break the movie. The panda village was the worst decision the franchise has made and it's killed not only Kung Fu Panda 3 but the two animated programs made after it.
Po's comedic antics/one liners didn't work in 2 because, unlike 1, he's no longer unexperienced in kung fu and trying to win the respect of others, and because Shifu is not there as a personality contrast (he barely appears in 2) The point is that Po is a tolerable protagonist in 1, but not in 2
Go away sharktalegay
i couldn't root for Po in 2. His personality was tedious, far more than in 1
>this entire thread
I should've figured Cinemaphilemblr would hate kung fu kino with a straight white (and partially black) male lead
>that furry baratard who inserted his gay fantasies against the creator's intent
KFP4 is gonna have more
>Kung Fu Panda 3 had a cheap feel to it
>Empty town, No cuhazy battle against the Jade Clones across town, only on the rooftops with zero civilians
>The villain hunts down the warriors in desolate areas
>Only the Panda Town is the one to get civilians
>Final battle is in glorified empty room
I cant be the only one that felt it, right? How bad will 4 be?
dreamworks recent movie track record has been pretty good so far, so I'm hoping KFP4 will be an improvement
Is there any way to make them reconsider?
..You’ve already had him master Body, Mind, and Spirit.
What the frick is left?
I wonder if they'll keep using the "cartoon" style they've used in TBG and Puss
They just released that Dragon Knight mini-series and even got Jack Black for it...anyone watch it?
Never watched any of the series, anything interesting happens?
I imagine this would be a direct sequel to 3, but would be nice to have a time skip, it's been 6 years
Why though?
Kung Fu Panda is just American Naruto in a Chinese setting. Change my mind
Are we finally gonna get a plot that doesn't involve his parents?
i only liked the first movie. 2 missed the mark for me. I didn't think it was entertaining
The 4th villain should be a Majin Buu and follow the tradition of Guillermo del Toro sneaking in DBZ villains into KFP
When the frick has he done that
>2024
I'm not going to count my gray hairs for fricking Kung Fu Panda.
When it's ready i'll watch it if I'm still alive.
its gonna explore Po's relationship with his two gay dads
I don't know where they could possibly take this series. Po is almost a god among men with how powerful he is at the end of 3. It,'d be really cool if we got to see other parts of the world. Maybe Po makes first contact with animal people from medieval Europe or ancient Japan.
>It,'d be really cool if we got to see other parts of the world
It seems like that's what the new Netflix show is.
Is it any good?
It's for young kids.
It's average.
