Basic Instinct was an improvement across the board. Hitchwiener is obsolete

    Disagree. Loved it
That said, why do people pretend the CGI effects can make one dizzy?
What do you think of the ending made for censorship standards.

its ok if you don't understand anon, but you don't need to put your moronation on display.

Hitchwiener is wildly inconsistent, on one hand he was an amazing innovator and the way he told stories could be incredibly engaging, but he's got appalling performances from actors and shitty dialogue riddled throughout most of his films. His attempts at humour fall flat often too.

North by northwest was pretty funny. The rear window ending where the photographer uses shutters to blind the killer is silly though, and while funny it was dumb as well.

and no one is capable of actually saying what's so great about it either, so i'm pretty sure they are just echoing popular opinion from 60 years ago

What would be the point of telling you about the dream symbolism and anima depictions when you just wont understand in the first place?

Vertigo is a masterpiece because of how it portrays the delusions and obsession the protagonist experiences, as well as how he only overcomes his fear by losing the woman he loved enough to cause said tribulations.

The movie got mixed reviews on release.

This. What a wonky ass flick. Collective pressure or something drives people to say the silliest fricking things, like Vertigo (5/10) is the best movie ever

I kind of liked north by northwest but I thought Cary Grant gave a very lazy and unimpressive performance.

It's good but I don't see how it's one of the greatest movies ever. Not a big fan of American cinema in general but liked Jimmy Stewart in this, he's very charming in all of the Hitchwiener films he's in. Out of like 15 Hitch flicks I've seen Vertigo is one of the weaker ones. Everyone knows Psycho is way more deservant of being called one of the greatest but farthuffers who vote for stuff in all of those shitty polls are afraid to admit that horror can be better than all of that psychological drama shit they like to circlejerk

I like Vertigo a lot. It's a more subtle film than other movies you might be used to though.
