If anon was in downtown NYC(clear inspiration for this Gotham), there's a 90% possibility they would indeed all be blacks or, at best, spics.
The best part is that while the movie is pozzed as frick, of course italian-americans are portrayed with the same subtlety of Edward G. Robinson in Little Caesar, a movie from the 30s.
Seriously, there's not a single good white guy in the whole movie, even Batman's father who has always been a good philanthrope is portrayed as a guy asking favors from the fricking mafia to silence brave journalists.
Batman himself is shown as a pure moron until he gets enlightened by the street wise black woman.
The black mayor is also the only clean politician in the city, when one quick glance at Detroit and Chicago would open your eyes regarding Black politicians in crime infested cities.
Oh I forgot, of course the most dangerous menace to the city IS LITERAL Cinemaphile INCELS WITH BOLT ACTION GUNS AND SHOTGUNS FOLLOWING A WHITE NERDY GUY.
The part where the homosexual erectus is written to actually have a conscience and empathy while we all know Black folk are the inventors of the knock out games and are 99% of the random aggressions of Asians, for shits and giggles.
Oh and to answer OP it was shit, Batman shouldn't take 5 punches to the face to ko some no name thug, at that point he's less scary than Mike Tyson.
Five years ago, I would have known these are troll posts but at this point, there are so many autistic morons here that I genuinely can't tell. Do you people even have friends or does your paranoia and smugness keep you from having any social interactions irl?

It set the tone perfectly. There's this long monologue about batman scaring thugs just by existing. And in the next scene a bunch of crackheads almost beat him with multiple bonks on the head. I knew this movie will be shit immediately.
the most un-Batman intro ever >walks out of the shadows like a moron to face a gang of thugs head on instead of using the element of surprise or trying to be stealthy using the shadows picking them off one by one
it's consistent with it's own logic atleast. What would have been gay is if he used stealth to take down the Clowns and later take machine gun bullets head on.
I like how it opened (except for Batman just walking out of the shadows like a normal dude which is what happen a lot in the movie). And then it never backs up any of that shit about Batman being like this terrifying shadow. He's just a regular dude nobody is really scared of at any point.
So i didn't see any trailers before seeing the movie in Imax. When they were showing the criminals looking into shadows and dark areas it was geniunely suspenseful. Almost scary as you genuinely didn't know WHERE Batman was going to come from. Then I was pleasent surprised as Batman not only beat the shit out of a group of thugs but ALSO took a few hits. I've never seen Batman get hit in a movie before this one. Immediately I'm interested. I even enjoyed the Rorshach/Year One-like monologue. It works as thought bubbles bought to screen.
I liked the movie
I stopped watching it when Catwoman started b***hing about "white privilege" or whatever.
But I liked the gothic aesthetic and the dark, ominous music with the bells tbh anons
Why did that upset so many people? She was literally standing in front of Bruce Wayne who proved her wrong. And the speech was about how no one cared when her hooker friend got murdered but they did when a mayoral candidate did. You aren't meant to agree with her
>She was literally standing in front of Bruce Wayne who proved her wrong. And the speech was about how no one cared when her hooker friend got murdered
The movie tried to portray her indignation as being in the right, and Batman right there in that scene was proving her right, because Batman until then also didn't care for Catwoman's hooker friend. He was a out of touch judgmental sob.
It is only through the help of Catwoman and the black mayor, because they kept calling out his behavior throughout the movie, and then by seeing his toxic actions reflected on the Riddler and his incel goons that Batman is able to wake up and realize he has been a privileged and toxic white boy that needs to do better.
Why should he care about her hooker friend?
Why are these people so uppity and preachy? Batman literally fights criminals and they want to judge him for being a spoiled jerk. What are they doing other than b***hing and moaning?
Because the movie is all about showing that white men are privileged, and that often they use their privilege not to help but vent their frustrations or get their way. Even the best of them. The Riddler could have helped, but he wanted to vent his trauma and frustrations. Batman could have helped, but he also wanted to vent his trauma and frustrations. Even Thomas Wayne could have helped, but he fricked it all up because he wanted to save his wife's reputation.
The whole movie is about showing that Batman is privileged, out of touch, toxic, and ineffectual. Him using his money to go around beating up petty criminals isn't good or helping.
I loved the prologue other than Batman saying that he has been doing this for two years but throughout all that has been basically played the role of a beat cop scarring and beating up random petty criminals, acknowledging that this hasn't helped the city in anyway and then trying to justify himself that he can't be everywhere.
homie, you're a goddamn billionaire capable of funding and building lenses capable of recording shit and magical armors capable of deflecting anything. It's not like this is your job and you've a boss to answer to. You've all the time in the world. You can sit your ass down and plan this shit better. Do some digging, go after the big players, disrupt some key operations.
Then in the next scene Batman goes and undo all that cool shit about him being the shadows and scaring petty criminals with his lack of presence by walking slowly into the open and calling all the attention in the room with his loud ass queer boots, which ended with him being mocked by random thugs because he looks like some random weirdo wearing some goofy ass military garbo.
This movie take on Batman is just something that i fundamentally disagree with.
>Do some digging, go after the big players, disrupt some key operations.
Exactly what the riddler did.
Batman would've been 100% on riddler's side if riddler just beat his victims into a coma instead of killing them. And then didn't do any of the stuff after he was caught.
Yeah. The movie made this Batman dumber so Riddler could do what Batman do in most movies, but in a lethal way. Meanwhile Batman is nothing but an ineffectual beat cop going after random petty robberies night in and night out without ever really stopping to think his next move. That is, until the Riddler started to draw him in.
If you're talking about the monologue, it was the only decent part of the film, and it was about as good as a youtube fan video. The rest of the film is dogshit that gets hard carried by the work the production designer did. >get photos of everyone leaving the iceberg lounge >never go to the place where the photos must have been taken based on the angle >if he had done that he'd have found the apartment and actually stopped some of the shit the riddler pulled
Bale's batman was a far better detective, but morons see the sonar tech in that film and the Fincher ripoff shots in this one and forget what's actually happening onscreen.
I was talking with some friends who felt meh about the film for how homosexualy the writing and overall approach to batman was, especially when compared to Nolan's trilogy, and one of the best points one of the guys in the call made was that, for all the talk about how it's "gritty" and "realistic", Nolans trilogy touched on all these evergreen, larger-than-life, grand narrative ideas that made it resonate with people all over the world. A lot of people just chalk up the popularity of the series to Ledger but Nolans trilogy has the best narrative for batman, because it focuses on him first and foremost as a son trying to live up to his father's heroic legacy, who ages into a man that doesn't believe he can ever find happiness in the world, and eventually learns to appreciate life at the end of the trilogy, and in the end manages to conquer his demons and make it out.
Nothing I've heard in a theater, not even marvel stuff like thor showing up in wakanda or the three Spidermen swinging out together, ever came close to the kind of reaction I remember of the crowd losing it when they saw Bruce climb out of the pit, and absolutely nothing - not even those youtube videos of Indians screaming in movie theaters - compares to the reaction I remember my theater having to Bruce and Selena being happy at the end. Edgelord snydergay autists seethe over that trilogy, but most of us agreed that it's the last great one that ever got made.
And then one homosexual on the call cut in and went "uhh well its really funny how you talk about great narratives but seem to have totally missed the part where riddler brings about a FLOOD?? Hmm?? You know the GREATEST narrative ever?? And what about le sins of le father hmmm??" Just malding about how unfair it was that we didn't worship Matt Reeves, calling us Nolan fanboys. That's basically the fanbase for this thing. People that are just like season 1 Pete Campbell, obsessed with Don. But unlike Pete, they'll never learn anything.
>Edgelord snydergay autists seethe over that trilogy, but most of us agreed that it's the last great one that ever got made.
Never seen a Snyder's fan say anything bad about Christopher Nolan's movies.
All they did was take batman and use him as a vehicle for their social justice obsession with evil white men that need to be held accountable, and this newfound obsession with turning batman into an "ally" instead of the criminal hunter that he's always been, which really kicked into high gear once that homosexual Tom King got his hands on the character. Someone made a point on here that the film is really about discovering all this rotten horrible shit in society, and then channeling all the opposition to that shit onto low class low status white men. I'm not an amerimutt whitoid and I don't care for their people, so I wasn't angry about that on a personal level, but it's moronic to see this dogshit mentally ill amerimutt obsession taking over every fricking character in every fricking medium, and then getting overpraised by insecure homos that keep trying to compare it to older classics that simply can't ever be beaten due to the fact that they were made in a better time. You see the same time of homosexualry happening with fantasy world being constantly compared to lord of the rings, when any normal person with a working brain could tell you that it's pointless to even try to act like it's possible for homosexuals like Matt Reeves or the people working on the Amazon LOTR show to ever outdo any of those classics. All this new shit is made by homosexuals that have had their ideas of life molded by american twitter. As such, they simply have not lived real lives, and all they can do is engage with each other in this endless homosexualy "conversation" that's really just a big fat struggle session for rich homosexuals to signal about how virtuous and worthy of respect they are.
Pretty much the only people that can make anything good now are relics of that past era like Tom Cruise, or occasional exceptions that prove the rule like that gay Daniel scheinert who made a great film despite being totally pozzed.
many defend this film for aesthetics only, but that is only part of the whole that kino does.Everything feels forced and pretentious that I am still surprised by the impact it had on some people. It is as if thanks to this film they discovered the noir genre
Modern movies have become so fricking godawful. The Batman was refreshing for me because atleast it looked nice. Can’t say that about the Capeshit and Star Wars shit I see nowadays.
It was a solid movie up untill the point when they make the villain shoot the babies and kick the dogs because he's been having the right take all movie
It felt like I was watching a sequel
The monologue was stupid but I liked the visuals.
woke garbage
the intro scene was woke? Which part?
The white guys in the gang pressing the black guy into doing what normally blacks do.
I'd love to watch you explain to the people wanting to knock you out in an alley that they didn't meet your racial expectations.
If anon was in downtown NYC(clear inspiration for this Gotham), there's a 90% possibility they would indeed all be blacks or, at best, spics.

The Knockout game is also known as polar-bearing or polar-bear hunting now try to guess why.
Wouldn't happen though because they would meet my racial expectations.. how redundant.

this honestly
its really good
Soundtrack is godly as well.
If only the Nolan movies had the aesthetics of this movie.
Nolan movies are visually and musically boring and bland.

stop it with the mental gymnastics tr00n, don't justify woke propaganda
So will they made a film with nubatman, Keaton and Bale/Sandler?
I just liked the music

I liked it. Felt like a good intro for a young Batman that's soaking up all the edge and still hungry for direct confrontations.
I never watch films more than once now that I'm older. I saw The Batman twice in cinema and once from HBO Max. Probably going to see it again.
He stole Nolan's Bane shadow line.
Garbage.
Why is Cinemaphile hating this again? Aesthetically this movie is beyond anything the MCU has produced in this year.
Because everything else is garbage.
Disney shills can’t stand when you praise other products
>nice aesthetics
>better than MCU
if a film ticks off these boxes, no one should ever criticize it
I watch it for she
a nigress and a israelite, what a combo

best part of the movie, which made it even more disappointing as I slowly just fell asleep over the course of the next 2+ hours

Not as good as the original

Nah, the movie got stupid before that.
its fricked how they took elliot rodger, framed his death, trooned him out and put him in this film. what is the world coming to.
Best looking shitty movie ever. Bring back Snyder. Reeves was a mistake. Snyder is God.
