That's obvious, but it's pretty cheap.
I was thinking, even not understanding it you go to internet, investigate a little and come to like the movie even more and appreciate the little details, maybe watch it again and enjoy it more.
The “science” in this movie is a fricking joke. Yeah they got the special effects for black holes right but almost nothing about the movie makes sense from a scientific standpoint >creating a perpetual motion engine for space travel would cure a crop plague because…it just would, ok? >that planet where time is really slow, we got the thumbs up message but they’be only been on the planet for a couple hours. We can see from orbit that it’s entirely covered in water and the air is not breathable. If something goes wrong you could waste a decade or more just to find out the obvious. Maybe check it out last? >I want to go to the planet with my boyfriend on it the most… and that’s a good thing >this space shuttle that required a rocket to leave earths orbit can launch off of a planet with 20% higher gravity than earth like the millennium falcon >Jon lithgow isn’t funny anymore, alright?
you dumb frick you try calculating relativity
>love is the only thing that can transcend space time
>le ironic robot
They are actually explaining that to the audience, not to the characters
Except when you do the math - the gravity on that planet would make it impossible to survive as a human
Show me the math anon
Time dilation equation is 1/sqrt[1-2GM/(c^2 * R)]
M is mass of the planet
R is radius to center, so when you do the math its damn near R=2GM/C^2
This puts the mass (and thus the gravity) WELL above anything humans would be able to survive....like black hole dense
the movie takes place in a world where your equation is gay bullshit
You just posted equations, not results
I get that you haven't even taken relativity for dummies, but if you google it you can find the newton constant and c is the speed of light
Its ok anon, we won't judge you because you couldn't post the actual math after all.
That's obvious, but it's pretty cheap.

because you're a dumb frick who doesn't know they're watching a movie and not actual interstellar discussion between astronauts in the future.
Bullshit. 1 minute is 1 minute. Time doesn't change. Scientists make this shit up to sound cool.
1 minute will always be a minute from your pov, but it's still relative
Relativity is a complete joke and scientists 500 years from now will mock us like we mock flat earthers.
Except it's proven by satellites and GPS
No it’s not. Not at all. Yes I know what you’re talking about. No it has nothing to do with relativity.
>it's proven
>in a way that you could never test yourself
isnt mcconahey a farmer and hathaway a biologist?
What is science but a farmer persisting?
wrong

Do you think is a clever observation? I mean honestly.
No, what makes you think I was trying to be clever?
if relativity is such a good theory why has the entire field been stuck since they adopted it
How many years did he spend watching MURPH alone in her room from that bookcase?
Shouldn't they have known that that would make the signal they recieved unreliable?
