been tinkering with ideas for a Danny Phantom reboot for years, and Sam is probably the character that would receive the biggest overhaul in character compared to canon, indeed pretty much the only traits she kept in common are the name Sam Manson, the fact that she's Goth in style, and that she's rich, everything else got tossed(especially anything to do with the Hippie Activist aspects of her canon self)
The first episode has her put the entire school in danger because she's the only one to refuse the Lunch Lady Ghost's offer to continue the current meal program and keep her memory alive. It's not enough that Sam could just bring her own crappy vegan lunch to school, she HAS to force her lifestyle down everyone else's throat.
In short, Sam is extremely self-serving, and causes more problems than she fixes throughout the show because of her contrarian personality.
