So? You can bring your wives maybe. Maybe some of them will want to play too (haha wouldn't that be so much fun and not totally make everyone hate eachother?) or they can just sit and take part, or sit in the next room and watch movies or heaven forbid, make you guys setting appropriate food.
You know this may be the most autistic thing I've ever said, but I think I may honestly lack the social skills... to play D&D. I've watched a bunch of campaigns on youtube because I was really interested in getting some groups of people together and playing campaigns online. I'd love to DM so I can express some of my fantasy story ideas. I've added numerous servers on Discord for D&D and other tabletop games, and I still have no idea what would actually be involved either in playing or in DMing. I feel like I'd try to do something and everyone would laugh and be like "Yeah, you can't just do that." or "You already acted dummy, it's my turn." or something. I feel like my campaign might not be that well-received.
I tried it in online chatrooms a few times when I was like 12, and every time I ended up having to create an npc character to physically drag the party wherever I intended to take the story. Maybe my players just sucked, I don't know.
I wish there was a step-by-step guide to it somewhere.
Join a discord group and just play mate, it's the way we all start. Roll up with a character idea, established players should be more than happy to help you out with mechanics.
Start a session, involve yourself in the roleplay and have fun.
