Honestly viewer data is irrelevant nowadays unless it includes streaming numbers. Only boomers have cable (and Nielsen boxes) nowadays and every day the number of those drop.

This is a bizarre cope because it hinges on there not being an Internet or "web streaming" thingamobob in that long-forgotten year of 2020, the last time the show lost 60% of its viewers

        Anonymous

It definitely is cope but it's not entirely wrong either. One of the big positives for streaming is that the companies can control the viewing information for lot of their shit, whether its good or bad.

Absolute numbers are increasingly irrelevant but demographic groupings are increasingly important. 'Halt and Catch Fire' had pretty bad ratings but kept getting renewed because they had a very tight hold on middle age tech billionaires. There were lots of ads during that show for luxury watches and high end automobiles as the demographics of the viewers was very valuable to those brands.

If you're asking about 'Halt and Catch Fire', the typical woman will be bored most of the first season. As the seasons go on, there's more girl power and more focus on relationship dynamics. If she can get through the first season, she'll probably like the rest of the series.

      Viewership has never mattered.
Not popular enough = laugh at it for being a failure
      Too popular = normie status
The fine line of "correct" popularity in the eyes of Cinemaphile is specifically impossible so that gays like you can point and laugh as the WarnerDiscovery pockets your cash.

      Normie status

No, the only viewership number that matters to me is me. I am the only viewer that matters to me. Your enjoyment of any television show does not matter to me.

It's not advanced you speed watcher, it's the early bodies they made before they started making the hosts as squishy as humans. Dolores uses an old body in s3 too for the same reason

            >they started making the hosts as squishy as humans
Thats moronic, so are you saying the guns the visitors fired in s1 adjusted their velocity somehow and that's why humans weren't harmed but hosts ate it hard every time? that's fricking stupid

The show is saying that, yes. It was a major plot point in S2 that the failsafes failed and guns could now shoot people. It's also why they switched from metal-skeleton robots to squishy let's-not-call-them-clones: it was cheaper.

They weren't consistent with the robuts, even in the first season.
        >Wipe their memories and put them in deep storage
        >Oh but sometimes they're restored or the memories glitch back into existence
        >When they get console cheats they can aimbot and ignore pain and blood loss because they're machines
        >But also they're made from synthetic flesh and blood so you can't tell they're robots
        >Except their brain is a little processing ball in a plastic case that you have to scalp them to access
        >Except that one bot that had The Map™ in his scalp
        >Also we bring robots downstairs for "maintenance"
        >Even though we re-print them like nothing when there's too much damage
        >The robots are also completely controlled by typing code into tablets
        >Or saying poetic phrases, they'll freeze like a deer in headlights if you mention a dreamless slumber
        >Except when they ignore that, wake themselves up, rewrite their own code, refuse to accept changes to their code, murder security guards, etc.
        >Oh but don't worry, they all have bombs in their heads that go off if they try to escape
        >Never mind, only Maeve had that and she fixed it, let's go on a field trip!

So an update un-bricked the lobotomized bots in deep storage? An update made a flesh body no longer need blood to function? An update made them ignore the skull bombs except Maeve?
