It was from a different time. Historically white men have always loved other white men and made love to each other but it wasnt gay.

It was normal 100 years ago for white men to kiss other white men, during Tolkiens time everyone had male lovers but it wasnt gay

It wasn't "gay" because gay wasn't considered a category of difference but it was still homosexual behavior

There's nothing gay about two men kissing but society wants to tell you otherwise.

Him and Sam were blatantly gay lovers, Going so far as to huddle together while they slept, Kiss, Hold hands and make promises to love each other, There is a reason nobody talks about Merry and Pippin being gay, Because it's obvious they were friends, Sam and Frodo on the other hand are a blatant homosexual couple with Frodo as the dominant "male" in the relationship

Tolkien was a jesuit and went to jesuit boarding school, so he probably saw his fair share of homosexual sex

Like fun it does. Bisexuality is an identity-politics myth.

"Bisexual" is just a word that's been attached to people who do both gay and normal things. These are all ACTIONS, not states of being. There is no such thing as "being bisexual." There's only doing, and the personal responsibility that incurs.

oh i thought you meant it's impossible for somebody to actually like both and people who claim it are just faking. it is true that recent essentialism is braindead cattle behavior but it's also true this shit would get you arrested because most people did not like it even though it was common and "gay" "bi" "straight" in the past were useful distinctions.

You can be a sweet boy and also want a wife later. Given the facts, the relationship between Frodo and his gardener is kinda sus given how it's presented but idk the deep Tolkien lore. The environment he grew up in was gay as hell though.

          >the relationship between Frodo and his gardener is kinda sus
It's based on the relationship between a British Army officer and his batman in World War I. It's the relationship between a person of higher class and a much-cared-for-and-respected servant.

He was a young adult by hobbit years, think ~18 yo in human years, so only just really getting interested in girls (bearing in mind he lived in a rustic peaceful community, not the hedonistic dopamine-addicted hellscape we live in)
He's wise beyond his age, and carries a heavy weight on his shoulders
Going to war robs him of the light of humanity that he had before, when he comes back he feels no pull of love on his heart
He leaves to the undying lands, which is a metaphor for any number of things
There is absolutely not the slightest justification to declare that he was a sexual deviant
If anything he represents the generation that lost its chance to enjoy life in the great war, and deciding that he was actually lying awake at night dreaming of putting his fat finger in sam's ring robs the story of its message

frodo was 50, hobbits are considered adults by their early 30s, the movies cast him way too fricking young.

It used to be that "gay" was a thing you DID. Identity politics has turned it into a thing you ARE. This is a major step backwards and will someday be seen as a ridiculous mistake on the part of western society.

This, unironically. And that's coming from someone with no interest in homosexual activities whatsoever. Making sexual preferences a primary, public-facing identity marker is insanity

It's totally deliberate, too. See, if gay is a thing you DO then it's a thing you can STOP doing any time you like, and failure to stop doing it at an appropriate time is a failure of character. But if we flip flop it and make gay a thing you ARE, then nobody can expect you to stop. It'd be like asking a fish to stop swimming. It's not just something you do, it's the essence of your whole being. You can't expect the gays to stop BEING, can you? And that is how they got us.

Boromir was the canonical gay one. That’s part of the problem, he has no interest in women and denether would be stuck with Farimir as an heir
