Even when I was younger going through a wigger phase I never understood the appeal of this gen x shit. It’s forgettable mediocre east coast 90s shit. Might as well talk about noreaga or cormega or some shit. Why the frick do people like wu tang so much?

first cool huge Rap-Crew, built their own mythology and gave their fans the feeling of being a part.

Also Method Man was just a great rapper.

      [Verse 3: RZA]
      >Aiyyo, camouflage chameleon, ninjas scaling your building
No time to grab the gun they already got your wife and children
A hit was sent, from the President to raid your residence
Because you had secret evidence, and documents
on how they raped the continents, and it's the prominent
      dominant Islamic, Asiatic black Hebrew
The year two thousand and two, the battle's filled with the Wu
Six million devils just died from the Bubonic Flu
Or the Ebola Virus, under the reign of King Cyrus
You can see the weakness of a man right through his iris
Un-loyal snakes get thrown in boiling lakes
of hot oil, it boils your skin, chickenheads getting slim
like Olive Oyl, only plant the seed deep inside fertile soil
Fortified with essential, vitamin and minerals
Use the sky for a blanket, stuffing clouds inside my pillow
      Rolling with the lambs
Twelve tribes a hundred and forty four thousand chosen
      Protons Electrons Always Cause Explosions

      [Verse 4: GZA]
      >The banks of G, all cream downs a bet
Money feed good, opposites off the set
It ain't hard to see, my seeds need God-degree
I got mouths to feed, unnecessary beef is more cows to breed
I'm on some tax free shit by any means
Whether bound to hit scheme or some counterfeit cream
I learned much from such with cons who run scams
Veterans got the game spiced like ham
And from that, sons are born and guns are drawn
Clips are fully loaded, and then blood floods the lawn
Disciplinary action was a fraction of strength
that made me truncate the length one-tenth
With his thump, tweaters hits like air pumps
RZA shaved the track, homiez caught razor bumps
Scarred trying to figure who invented
      this unprecedented, opium-scented, dark-tinted
Now watch me blow him out his shoes without clues
'Cause I won't hesitate to detonate, I'm short fused

this is the completion of hiphop. there's no idea even making hiphop after this.

It’s not really funny or interesting. Not conscious enough to be thought provoking or making any kind of point. Not talking about any real gangster shit either. That style didn’t age well. Even Canibus and Immortal Technique held up better than that. It’s always the whitest people ever listening to it too. There’s some weird dissociation there. I got into my 30s and mostly grew out of it. I just walked through a black and Hispanic neighborhood with a gay ass benson Boone song blasting out of my phone. I wish I lived somewhere nicer but whatever. Compared to when I was young driving around the suburbs blasting this shit out of my car. I find people are much more intimidated by me now because I’m a massive homo.

          Immortal Technique is a homosexual
          >don't trust the government!
          >unless they are democrats!
Funny how he only releases music when republicans are in power

I agree with you. I’m just saying even his verses stay on topic and make some kind of point with what they’re saying. Not like this shit. Immortal technique speaks Spanish and claims to be an actual communist and he has millions of dollars. The fact that he doesnt just move to Venezuela proves that he’s a massive hypocrite.

On a side note, I think blasting rap in a white neighborhood is so much less satisfying than blasting corny gay shit in an ethnic neighborhood. The majority of blacks and Hispanics are still so homophobic that it’s like a cheat code for trolling.

I just know that when I first listened to 36 chambers it was extremely refreshing compared to what I'd listened to before. Most rappers sound like other rappers, Wu-Tang sound completely unique to me. The samples, the beats, the lyrics and weird references. There's a million rappers out there just talking about how many people they shoot, how much money they have and how many b***hes they frick. It gets old. Wu Tang were different, although they never quite reached the magic of those first few albums again.

Cappadonna was great, U-God is whatever, Masta Killa is great. Redman also but he's not wu-tang.

U-God on Forever does arguably better than ODB and Method Man

U-God has some great verses on songs. Killa Hill homies on a Cypress Hill album, Gravel Pit, Winter Warz

Cappadonna was really good on Cuban Linx and Ironman. After that, garbage.
U-God has like one good verse in total (36 Chambers).
Same with Masta Killa. homie mumbles and raps slow as shit except for his verse on 36 Chambers.

U-God was in prison for most of the album. He has a bit on Da Mystery of Chessboxing, and Protect ya Neck.

I know he was, doesn't change the fact that his all time peak was on 36 Chambers.

so the prospect of retro, practical effect oriented kung fu-kino set in space with rap-assasinations on a chessboard filled with dialogue and songs filled with abrahamitic and comic books motifs doesn't intrigue you? i'd say you are filtered.

The wu tang american saga series did a series of tv movies based off the 95 solo albums and the liquid swords ep was seen as a highlight (my fav was the ob4cl ep however)
