He was coerced into doing it by Kidman. He did it for love and he ordered his nephew dead because he knew what would happen if he survived, which did end up happening.

She only wanted Ethan hawke killed, it was just too dangerous to let amleth live so she agreed to add him to the kill list. She did it for her freedom.

>so she agreed to add him to the kill list
You just said she's the one behind the whole thing. Who is she "agreeing" with?
>nearly 1/3 of the poster are actors who only appear in cameos
Who was in the wrong? Me for believing Cinemaphile and falling for hype. This movies was dogshit.
*yifs and farts in your general direciton*
It's weird how Fjolnar was sort of humanised a little when he explains to his son the importance of working, and also his comments about Aurvandil being evil and thus Amleth also being evil.
The movie shows nothing of Aurvandil's "evil", Amleth's clearly an idealistic boy at the beginning and only becomes a revenge obsessed berserker because of Fjolnar and Fjolnar is shown to be complicit in Aurvandil's raids and summarily kills his slaves.
Was the point that Nicole Kidman and Fjolnar were just fucking deluded?
Aurvandil did his entire life exactly what the vikings do in the raid scene. Amleth's mother was a random slave that caught the King's eye after she birthed him a child. Fjolnir was probably already envious of his brother's success and the Queen gave him the final push to actually act on it.
Amleth was the one most in the wrong. His father was supposedly a drunkard asshole to everyone but him which is why he got killed.
At the end of the movie, he almost lets go of his rage and decides to travel with Anya to start a family. Yet he leaves her and their unborn children because of his misplaced pride.
He goes on to murder his mother, his brother (who is a fucking child), and his uncle. Then he dies. His children will grow up without a father figure, just like how Amleth's father was stolen from him.
This whole movie could be an allegory for how trauma passes from one generation to the next, but what do I know.
>He goes on to murder his mother, his brother (who is a fucking child),
To be fair this was self defence. And his justification for going back to kill Fjolnr was protecting his children, not “pride”.
>He goes on to murder his mother, his brother (who is a fucking child)
they attacked him first. >he leaves her and their unborn children because of his misplaced pride
it was to make sure fjolnir didn't go after his family for revenge.
Fjölnir would never come back, dude was a broken man at that point, with no resources to do anything ever. Instead of protecting his future kids from whatever may come in the future, he still dwells on what was.
Amleth's fate from the start was for him to die while killing Fjolnir. His only room for free will was to do it out of love for his wife and children rather than revenge.
His "fate" was just him coping. He changed his supposed "fate" to fit what he wanted to do at the time. There were no wise seers and witches, it was just Amleth the whole time.
I just want to point out that it's a good thing that this movie is able to create debate.

>women >loving anyone other than themselves
lol
I know the film veered into the supernatural at some points, but the human elements were still based on reality
Men is actually much, much better and artier than OP's piece of shit, and I went in expecting it to suck. I even wound up enjoying the ending which I never would have believed if you'd described the content.
>Slaughtered his uncle's entire family and ended his bloodline >Fathered twins >Went to his paradise in the end after dying a glorious death in battle
Amleth clearly came out on top.
obviously the mother and uncle. >wahhh he was an oaf and a meanie and he even had mistresses! >:(
they're fucking vikings, that's like 80% of their culture and lifestyle - get the fuck over it and maybe don't commit treason, sedition, kill your husband, and attempt to kill your own son at the same time in the process? it isn't hard. if the implication is that the uncle was a good boy viking that didn't rape slaves and dindu nuffin then that's bullshit because it was more than just common at that time: it was standard operating procedure.
Anya for doing that cringey hand pose on the poster
Amleth obviously. Fjolnir was just living a comfy farm life with his wife and sons.
with slaves
Different times. Fjolnir was still much better than Amleth's dad.
how do you know? because nicole kidman said so?
Because he cared about his family more and wasn't a warmonger that craved a warrior's death.
>Because he cared about his family
>Care about family
>Murder your loving brother and order your nephew killed just to get some "fresh" pussy

Da slaves were wite pepol so it's aight
he said comfy
>Poster with lots of drakkars
>Only see one in the movie
There were like 3, but honestly I wish they had a larger fleet for the "maybe Moscow in it's infancy" invasion.
ummm theres a very prominent long-take of one when we first see adult Amleth, not to mention at the end before he goes to the volcano
>nearly 1/3 of the poster are actors who only appear in cameos

Nicole Kidman was the bad guy
duh
She's a guy? I cant keep up anymore
her pronouns are bo and tox
THE WOMAN
one of her children is a tranny

By showing the raid on the slavs one can easily make the connection that that’s what amleth’s father was doing ehen acquiring his wife
I think we are meant to sympathize with fjolnir by the end as being under the influence of an evil woman, but the revenge must still be fulfilled
The white race for existing.
Amleth for abandoning his pregnant qt wife to people he had never met to go fight an elderly man.
He was based
If they guy missing his nose and not lied about it, none of this would have happened. So all of this is because of him.
>Believe a guy that got his nose cut off and is exhausted
There are many plot points such as this that don't make sense.
Also no one ever points why this is considered "good"
Amleth was the one most in the wrong. His father was supposedly a drunkard asshole to everyone but him which is why he got killed.

You don't know that. Amleth just killed his son.

they attacked him first.

You missed the part where he said or implied Fjolnir would hunt down and kill his children
Egg for making such a painfully mediocre film.
Fjolnir, Amleth did everything right. Revenge is the sweetest thing
His mom and Anya being so beautiful and attractive
After learning the truth he should have just taken Anya with him and fucked off.
Fjolnir was wrong. Imagine killing your brother beacuse of some ex-slave woman that is mad because she is not fucked by the king.
His mother. She was the only cunt. Otherwise, you cannot judge neither Halmet or Fjolnir with contemporary morality standards.
Violence breeds violence.
but in the end, it has to be this way...
Eggman for creating this shit and the studio for funding it
The bitch that got both of her families dead and had no ounce of love for her eldest son
>women
>loving anyone other than themselves
lol

This is a troll post btw, I haven't seen Men but every posters here universally agree that it was bad and disgusting.
This is the best film of the year. Only women would say otherwise. "Wahhh, I'm bored" no.... you're a woman.
>This is the best film of the year.
There have been like 5 movies this year
why the movie sucked or who was wrong about storyline?
as for first question, because vikhang movies are overused meme and they really suck
Go take your estrogen pills and calm down.
not him but he's right. ever since vikings we've been bombed with viking shows that are all alike.
its literally so incel whiteboys feel better about themselves. israelites play no sides
This movie is way better than vikings. You're an idiot too.
>vikhang movies are overused meme
name 5
Capeshit doesn't count
You homosexuals for hyping up an average movie. It wasn't even bad, but its not capeshit so you had to act like it was God tier.
we gotta take what we can get, man
Were there any better movies from this year?
It's not average in that films like this are a rarity these days
The mom. She wanted strange new dick and destroyed her family, two men, and her son's life in the process.
100 percent
OP, as always.
The message of the film is that women bad

>Slaughtered his uncle's entire family and ended his bloodline
>Fathered twins
>Went to his paradise in the end after dying a glorious death in battle
Amleth clearly came out on top.
But technically he continued his uncle's bloodline because Fjolnir and Aurvandil's father was Amleth's grandfather
He continued his uncle's father's bloodline, not his uncle's bloodline.
Not the same thing.
obviously the mother and uncle.
>wahhh he was an oaf and a meanie and he even had mistresses! >:(
