Travis actually rp'd his low int to perfection since he didn't want to do romance in C1, which is why grog is both the comic relief and a hulking monster that annihilates most things in combat. His sexuality being more akin to a kid about play videogames. Where scanlan tries to be smooth to feed his ego, grog just sees it as a treat when he gets to visit "the house of lady favours". And since he basically can't count, someone (scanlan) usually goes with him.
To elaborate, grogs int modifier in the campaign was low, so he is too childish/dumb for any woman to take him seriously (unless, of course, they just see that slab of meat and say "eh, frick it", and even then it takes a special kind of person to want to frick someone who mentally is 9. Which is why it's usually down to prostitution.

Scanlan and Grog feel like that one character in a party that has no real hang ups or tragic backstory to fall on so it's pretty funny when the party are getting hit with their hang ups by the Sphinx and concept art of a Street Fighter character and all Scanland and Grog get out of it is a joke about the Sphinx not really caring about Scanlan which can be served as a meta-joke about how he has nothing to work with and Grog's encounter feels like the DM forcing their player to do "something" or "anything" other than what they've been doing
I know they have a thing going on but compared to everyone else getting their arc and the twins having an arc spanning 2 seasons now, it's very little
Funny you should say this, because Grog and Scanlan have the best story beats later in the game because of that. Scanlan especially nicely deconstructs this "joke character with no sad backstory" later on.

He was trying to make a spinoff show completely on his own with Tiberius as the main character, but it...wasn't very good. He's not exactly Matt Mercer or Sam Riegel. And he vastly overestimated how much the fans give a frick about Tiberius.
For some reason, they tried to include Tibs in the Vox Machina Origins comic book at first (after a few issues they had him get called away to Draconia and leave), and when they were doing the kickstarter campaign for the animated series, they first announced that the season would start when VM first arrives in Whitestone, which is not when the Briarwood arc starts because they first meet the Briarwoods at the dinner in Emon, but it IS immediately after Orion leaves the streams never to return. So for some reason they really thought they couldn’t just retcon him out of the story and start from the beginning.
Now, all that being said, they eventually did go back and include in the cartoon things for which Tiberius was present in the campaign, without Tiberius. But at one time they seemed to be trying not to retcon him out of the story, which I found kind of absurd. Either include him or don’t include him, but adapting only the parts of your story for which he wasn’t present just seems like the worst possible option.
I think it should be noted that Orion is/was their friend and was DnDing with them prior to them streaming their sessions. They probably still feel something for him and want to include him in the best they could
As for how it affects the show, if you're new to Critical Role and watching the show first it won't have any real effect on you, like me
But if you've been keeping up with CR since their first session it's all gonna feel weird and disjointed at time. Can't be helped considering the circumstances involved

Episode 49 IIRC. It happens much differently in the campaign. Grog pretty much stabs Pike by accident, but throwing Craven Edge at random. Also, they are not fighting a dragon at this point, but solving the sphinx's riddle.
Also, Travis pretty much solves the riddle on his own, but then realizes that Grog is too stupid to figure it out (because he can't even read), so he stays silent.
In that case I appreciate the show took the creative liberty, because I keep thinking during the show how some things happen *too* poetically to be born from the chaos of a DnD campaign, no matter how railroaded it is.
The show is DEFINATELY not 1:1 adaptation of the campaign, there is A LOT of changes made to serve a better story. The idea behind the scenes is still there, but the context is changed and cleaned up for the better flow. Like that gag with the doors in episode 5. Yes, the gang had a lot of trouble going through those fricking doors, together with some abysmal rolls, but it looked much differently in the campaign. In the show, they kept the overall idea behind it and changed the situation a bit.
I have heard of the infamous gold fish incident with Keyleth, you think they'll change that in the show?
Maybe, the scene is pretty much near the end of the campaign, around the time Vecna shows up, and really doesn't really bring anything to the table, so I dunno. But it is a hilarious scene, although mostly due to everyone's reaction of "why would you do something so fricking stupid".

The problem isn’t that the sword makes him go crazy during battle it’s that the sword was pressuring him to draw blood even when they weren’t in battle. They showed this in episode 5 when the creatures from the Fire Plane didn’t have blood and the sword pointed itself at Pike, and again in episode 6 when the sword drew Grog’s blood and said “if you won’t feed me I’ll feed myself”

What do you think will happened first in S3: Anna Ripley's fight or Vorugals?
Well in the campaign Scanlan uses the gate scroll they found on the island to help them in the Vorugal fight, but I suppose they could reverse the order for the cartoon. I think it could work either way. I also think a lot of the details of the Vorgual fight will play out differently given that Draconia will almost certainly not appear in the cartoon at all. So where exactly is Vorugal, what city did he sack for Thordak? Do they have the fight with Vorugal at Whitestone? That might be a good opportunity for Raishan to reveal herself and warn/aid them, which would also go a long way towards convincing VM she’s telling the truth about working against Thordak and leaving her in Whitestone would be an excellent added stress for Percy if they then go to Marquet and do his story after that.
I have a feeling that the S2 Cliffhanger will be Raishan showing up and the first episode will be them making a deal with Raishan
Yeah that sounds about right. Not looking forward to the keyleth meltdown as it’s going to feel kind of out of character for this animated version of the character, but since it happened in the campaign they’ll probably include it.
Feels like perfect Season ending Cliffhanger. Thinking about it i feel like they would want to kill Anna Ripley first considering based on her orb thing and what she told the CC, she has the means of spying on VX which makes any suprise attacks against Vorugal useless ergo logically it makes sense to deal with her first before fighting Vorugal. I wouldn't be suprised if episodes 1-3 of S3 is Ripley and then 4-5-6 is Vorugal.
I think when they go to Westruun later this season they’ll probably run off Ripley and she won’t be in league with the dragons in season 3, or if she is she’ll be off in Marquet collecting vestiges and not around to spy on VM for a the conclave.
Potentially, either way Ripley's fight is definetly not happening in S2 based on leak titles so its probalby happen at the start of S3 or the middle. There is a possibily they will wait till S3 to do the Raishan deal but for the sack of a TV Production it makes sense to do the Raishan bit at early as possible so we get more time to them fleshing out her dynamic and interactions with Vox Machina

sorry I don't give a shit about leredditdnd show. I watched like half of season 1. It's too fast story wise, never gives the viewer a chance to catch their breath and has MCU style humor. It's a cancer on the TTRPGsphere and I dispise it.

The one question with Ripley is will Percy be dead/dead and they have to use ressurction or will he be close to dead but Vox Machina think he's dead leading to the brutal murder of Ripley
I could see the possibily of Vorugal and Ripley's fights happening at the same time t personallly i would rather they keep it seperately
I have a hunch they will leave a Bard's Lament for the first episode of S4 and have the final episode of S3 just be Raishan
It would be a killer way to end a season and I think they will end season 3 that way, but obviously we’ll have to wait a while to find out.

Actually it would be season 4 if it happens. It takes place after the Chroma Conclave arc.
And after Chroma Conclave, that's Vecna right?
There are some side quests that happen before Vecna. I think they would probably have the Vecna arc be season 5.
