Just watched this with some free passes because my daughter still likes the MCU. While not as bad as Dr. Strange, this film was trash and unbearable for most of the picture. There is no story, no satisfying arcs, no setup and payoff, no earned triumphs, no real loss, and the whole script is one long, awful reddit post with quippy talk producing zero laughs. Marvel movies are so terrible they are angering to see to the point where even a free pass isnt worth the cost.

the MCU is just a soulless franchise. You can't run with something forever, they are trying to change it up but it's definitely for the worse.

It's all murky calculations at this point but it's likely to turn a very mediocre profit at best. Meaning, from the investors/shareholders' pov, it flopped because they put money in it expecting a much higher return.
That's even before going into the fact that it hurt both the Thor franchise specifically and the MCU brand in general.

They have to claim it was a massive "yas kween success" and take an even bigger loss by distributing the "profits"... and you know how they like to make out even those films that pull massive numbers "never make a profit".
The production budget was 250mil. Justice League was 300mil and the break even point for that was 750mil. So Love and Thunder's will be a bit lower and will make a little bit of money BUT that's still a failure. Disney doesn't make huge summer blockbusters to break even or not bring in serious profit
