      Gods punishing the world.

Its probably a modern and more a surreal version of hell. Like Dante's inferno but less elegant and more industrial and edgy. Kino visuals from start to finish though. No wonder it took so many years in the making

that's all well and good and all, but the movie explicitly tells you that its earth being subjected to the wrath of god for defying him. or, rather, defiance of god resulting in endless amounts of man-made horror.

I thought that it's about existentialism and how we as self-conscious beings try to combat it by wanting to create things by destroying past things, resulting in a loop of creation (therefore the tower of creation sawn in the film) that makes us Mad Gods in a way. Never satisfied until we have the last say even if it needs to happen countless times.

The world is fricked and will be over and over again. The whole film brings an aura of fatalism and pessimism.

its not about anything its just a demo reel of stop motion techniques

This movie proves that practical effects are a relic of the past and the move to CGI was well deserved.

I can’t wait until they CGI your wedding. It’ll look better than having a real woman there.

By the time the octopus thing got its kid eaten I had gotten sick of the torture and just wanted Mad God to be over, and for the baby work to get mutilated to death (which was pretty fricking obviously going to happen) so I could take a pee.

It's OK at best and that's mostly because of the stopmotion.

uh, you didn't watch this sober did you? this is going to be that obscure shit that stoner 15 yr olds find in 20 yrs and THEN it will get it's frothing at the mouth cult fanbase

because we have 15 years like that haha

its too inconsistently avant garde for that. also the bible quote automatically turns away any stoner.

As someone who watched this high as frick like six months ago, I didn’t really like it honestly - it’s an outstanding technical work but it’s 90 minutes of obtuse nonsense. Weed doesn’t make it any more enjoyable.

Try redoing some of your house's electrical work next time you get high, or maybe go night swimming.

Not him but I watched it stoned last night and it was a drag. No it's not hard to understand, it's just a boring movie. Some effects were cool but the dude should just made a music video or something because there is not an hour and a half (or thirty years) worth of decent content

i am more intelligent than you

    >saved cinema
    >saved stop-motion animation
you have to be moronic to think this. there were better stop-motion films released in 2018 and were actually full stop-motion films and not use using shortcuts by having live-action or having the puppet drive an RC car. Mad God is trash, it has 20 minutes of stellar stop-motion animation spliced between garbage live-action segments made by the hanger-ons that took Tippett's original and shat it up in a vain attempt to getting the film a wide released after the kickstarter campaign.

and if you didn't understand the story you're just dumb.

How come this movie has a similar aura to Tetsuo The Iron Man, despite being completely different

because tetsuo used a mixture of stop motion and live action as well?

The only things I know about this are that it's apparently hard as frick to watch and the plot is edgy meaningless bullshit.

Junk Head was better, watched them both the same night.
