I had the same experience when watching it the first time. Watch it again.

don't defile a good film like magnolia with the plebeian critique of "duh ending"

          Shhhh

I love the story of the wiz kid, and how this one finally realized it wasn't his fault, and that its just something that happens to super smart kids.

Indeed, I'm not a hack and I'd never frick that ugly puerto rican creature from SNL
also is this you from the comments?
        >such a good scene. I think a lot of this movie deals with generations not understanding one another, and therefore making the same mistakes. Here is a comdemning statement in the discourse of the generation Y hip lingo. Because of that, the police officer dismisses it as senseless rabble instead of taking the time to understand the younger generation. Scene's capped off with him saying the cliche limeric "be cool stay in school."

I rewatched it a few months back. I like elements of it, but some of it is amateur hour. The sound mixing is way over done and the use of music is clumsy at best. Julianne Moore's performance is terrible. Should have edited more out of it.

Liking Magnolia is the universal test of identifying who is an empty reddit npc. Nobody with a soul likes Magnolia because it’s an empty husk of a film pretending to be something it isn’t.
