Producing Parker is a show about an overworked woman who produces this female daytime talk show. Most of the episodes are her boss asking her to do something unreasonable while the rest of the cast just makes things worse by taking advantage of her timidness and then she like cries or gets stripped naked infront of everyone or some junk.

Yeah, I tried watching it, and while Parker is kind of cute, the whole TV production setup filled with obnoxious vapid characters just made it hard to watch. They're not even fun as caricatures, they're just annoying.

I hate the whole "characters NEED to be likable" argument, but you're not entirely off-base here. The characters are only really tolerable in small doses, I usually tap out after a few episodes at a time because they just get tiring after a while. This was very much a show made for syndication, and doesn't translate well to binge watching.
