The only alternate opinion I could be convinced by is if someone prefers the original to Fury Road.

Fury Road is a really great movie. It's incredible how great it is. I even think it's the last great American movie.

        > It’s truly an honor to be in the presence of such mental moronation. Honestly, give yourselves a hand
Fury Road was aggressively bad. Academy award for “visual design” or whatever means absolute Jack shit without a compelling narrative.
        > oh no bad guys are bad and everyone needs water in the desert, they are chasing us uh oh uh oh
That shit isn’t interesting. It’s fricking boring. Throw in a cavalcade of unappealing, unrelatable characters interacting with each other and that’s exactly why the movie was a financial failure (taking into account marketing +ad buy over production budget)
Please Kys homosexuals. Movies are worse now because you morons keep buying tickets to shitty ones

First half of Thunderdome is great but it dives right off a cliff halfway through and turns into the most soulless Spielberg wannabe kiddie friendly shit. Absolutely awful. I refuse to believe that anyone sees the movie through and likes it over the age of 12 unless they just get too drunk in the first half to pay any attention to what's going on.

I enjoy Logan's Run: The Series, and Ark II. Both are enjoyable post-apocalyptic TV series.

Both of those are trash. Road Warrior is the only good one. At least Mad Max is okay for a first time director's no-budget production, Fury Road is a giant cartoon.

perhaps you might provide some actual reasoning for why you think its good? rather than jumping to the typical “people who dont enjoy it are bad!”

I think Mad Max and The Road Warrior should both be remade.
And by that, I mean go back in time and give George Miller extra funding to add to some of the action scenes. Not too much, maybe like an extra 5 minutes per film.

Road Warrior = Fury Road >>> Furiosa > Mad Max >>> Thunderdome
The first movie was shit, thunderdome was ridiculous
if Furiosa didnt have such terrible CGI and they cut about half an hour of useless scenes it would be a good movie

I just rewatched Mad Max. It’s a solid 70s b movie, it’s more entertaining for imagining how they made it more so than the plot. But it’s short and sweet has a killer ending.

Fury Road is an awful sequel to Mad Max.
All the other movies were also awful sequels to it.

Mad Max 2 might as well have been a completely new series.

It's an undeniablke fact that most people think of Road Warrior when they think of Mad Max, its post-apocalyptic imagery for cars, clothes and characters basically defined the post-nuke genre and its influence can be seen almost everywhere in loads of manga, comics, games, all the Italian and Philipines ripoff movies, etc.

But I, for one, prefer the first movie, I like that it's set in a world one the verge of falling but that still barely manages to hold despite being fricking insane. I like the slow burn story of Max that only becomes Mad in the last part of the movie. It also has cool villain characters like the Night Rider and the Toecutter, and an awesome cop like Jim Goose.
