This woman's hairstyle reminds me of the comedic movie There's Something About Mary. Specifically the scene in which the character Mary inadvertently puts semen in her hair thinking it's hair gel that the main character didn't work into his own hair properly.

She directly shamed and humiliated a vulnerable person to their mother, violating patient confidentiality.
Which in turn resulted in a suicide.

In response to this event she was assaulted, to which she responded by lobotomizing the person who assaulted her.

its abuse of power. she may well care about her patients but does not see them fully as people to be cared for, but to be protected from themselves at often cost to themselves.

theres no reason for her to be so harsh other than to maintain a sense of control and authority. so that she is listened to in the most dire of circumstances and the final straw was her grasping at authority as a razed earth tactic.

one of your patients kills himself because she barely let him be a man and she respond with- basically mentally murdering the one who still had some semblance of perspective on your awful behaviour.

people who believe she did nothing wrong see her as knowing better than her patients whats good for them just because they are factually ill- but that doesnt excuse her from denying them basic comforts and humanities as an authority

                >people who believe she did nothing wrong see her as knowing better than her patients whats good for them just because they are factually ill
Yes, that is the job of trained medical staff, not of drunken reprobates that rape children.

                Care is not control

You're trained to care for them. Not power trip.

Disciplining them when they misbehave is caring for them. Only children argue otherwise.

She disciplined a vulnerable patient in her care. And she didn't even do that, all she did was threaten him with the prospect. He was vulnerable but in her eyes the threat was from the drunken criminal that brought a prostitute into a hospital ward to assault someone underage. Just imagine if Billy's and Ratched's genders were reversed. You really think a man protecting his friend's daughter from sexual deviancy would be seen as a villain? I'm sorry you support the sexual assault of minors like poor Billy and the young woman that MacMurphy assaulted to end up in prison in the first place, but as a God fearing Christian I can't support that and I fully stand by the corrective measures taken to end that serial rapist's reign of terror. Any sane person would.

That’s the beauty of the wickedness of women, they know exactly how to control, extort, manipulate and break people but never put a toe over a tangible line that would give anyone concrete cause to name that hideous glimmer behind their eyes every time they open their mouth to twist another screw in your spine and loosen another in your head. When you see that look you need no more evidence of wrongdoing than a woman does when a man gets that look when they’re alone in a room together. You pounce and swing until the light goes out behind those wicked headlamps.

She's not evil at all. She cared for mentally ill people unable to care for themselves. We know they can't care for themselves because of what happened when they didn't listen to her. She deserves a lot more respect.

Is it true that "ratchet" in ghetto slang is a reference to this character, as in calling someone ratchet is a way of saying "your behaviour is so poor as to be equivalent to nurse ratchet"?
Seems like a pretty clever slang, not one the basketballs are usually known for
