stand up comedy cannot be saved. the only time it's actually funny is when it wasn't meant to be stand up comedy in the first place like the paradigm shift ted talk, or that daniel larson moron being allowed to speak at a black lives matter demonstration. anytime it's like "comedy night" with open mic and circus and peanuts for a room full of "comedy enthusiasts" to watch what is basically show and tell / physical laugh track for prewritten comedy material it's hardly ever fricking funny. inb4 someone comments about sam hyde, that particular bit was funny because it was a ted talk and not stand up, anytime that israelite actually does a regular stand up performance it's the most unfunny shit except a brief period in the mid 2010s i.e. the mike brown stand up routine which was only funny because of the audience's triggered reactions and not because sam was actually funny.
