Sam is only passably competent and does literally nothing of worth, he’s always saved by Ursula and it’s likely Sam died before the season began.
Ursula looking at the small alien is many episodes before Sam gets stung by the clone pods, Sam doesn’t get infected at that point he gets taken by the raptors for not watching where he stood. What a moronic post.
The writers made it even worse with the characters' backstories. Sam is an experienced space hauler and Ursula states she never experienced much other than concrete and metal before the crash. Granted they spent about 50 days on planet before episode 1 but how tf does that trump presumably decades of experience visiting planets??
Everything in this show is bad on so many levels and is usually pretty easily fixable (maybe have Ursula be more experienced in wilderness survival if you want her to be the one with good instincts and to survive all the way to the ship??) but the writing is utterly incompetent. The more you think about everything the more annoying it gets.
"Women can never be bad at stuff" is a virus that's corrupting storytelling.
