Are you going to receive the signal Cinemaphile?
https://metvtoons.com/
The channel should be broadcasting this weekend now. Check and see if you are able before 6am Tuesday Morning. I'm literally going to be waking up to watch The Real Ghostbusters and Beetlejuice like I did when I was 6.

You're in the wrong neighborhood pal.
Shut up coomgay.
At first I didn't think it was coming to my area, but it looks like I should be able to pick it up on the antenna. If not, there's always streaming.
Shut up gay boy
I don't have a digital antenna in my TV and Xfinity has the other Weigel channels but not MeTV Toons yet 🙁
Since it's a free service, do they have an app I can watch it on?
they do but I gotta pay like $5 a month
not that anon
but if given no choice
I would discontinue my discovery+ for whatever app this is on
so glad my area has the signal
They said there will be a free streaming version of the channel on some kind of roku type service, but it won't be the exact same as the broadcast version.
Your TV should be able to receive over the air broadcasting and an antenna can extend the range.
Probably Tubi, but they haven't said anything yet.
There hasn't been a reason to, but for the news and putting something on for the background is good. The living room TV where I am is on MeTV most of the day or the news channel.
Bros you can watch all the episodes for free online now lol
More than half the shows have no legal ways of watching them. Plus a linear schedule is comfy.
who the frick still watches tv lmao
I don't but I will for the first time in 20 years on Tuesday.
t. zoomer who binges The Office for background noise
people who fricks
Why do people like you feel the need to repeat this verbatim whenever a TV channel is discussed? Obviously some people are interested in the channel, otherwise there wouldn't be a fricking conversation about it.
People who like being cozy.
I know you're joking but even my boomer mother doesn't watch tv anymore. My Grandma maybe, but every time I visit it's never on. People can watch anything they want on tablets and phones now.
no one cares dude go create a blog
not OTA but i already have philo
More so I'm glad to have a channel I can leave on anywhere while working. Nothing gets me in the zone like some fricking cartoons playing in the background.
Hype

They finally added a city close to me so I will go pick up an antenna this week to see if I can get it
We should have a watch along party or something. If someone is willing to stream it.
I'm hoping some anon will attempt, but modern day watch parties are easily killed by bots and foreign corporate watchdogs DMCA report stream takedowns. I certainly don't have the means to stream it, and discord streaming is not going to work to host hundreds of possible anons.
you guys think theyll do anything interesting with the channel after the reruns play out after a year or two or is it going to be abandoned later?
I also notice during the late night they've decided to play a bunch of britbong cartoons
There is literally info drops saying they will have special original programing to explain the celebrate the history of animation in the past. Toon College or something to that affect.
I'm really stoked.
Although I know they probably won't do it, since it's a syndication channel. I want them to play animated movies down the line that couldn't really fit onto places like Adult Swim or Cartoon Network.
Stuff like Pink Floyd the Wall or Night on the Galactic Railroad would be nice to see on public television.
There are empty blocks designated for anything. They also mentioned they will mix up the line-up now and then. They obviously know there is an audience for classic cartoons as people are excited for it even with commercials. This is going to be THE lightning in the bottle on saving television as they know it to the older demographics.
I like boomer animation like hanna barbera but im just saying I hope they branch out to other types of stuff, theyre kinda doing that already by playing british stuff at night, but it would be cool to get retro pre 90s anime there (especially night on the galactic railroad) and soviet/eastern bloc stuff, just have a little slice of everything
Totally Tooned In looks like something for that. Would be like O-Canada airing random toons I'm hoping.
>2 Stupid Dogs only has one timeslot
True but it's part of that awesome Saturday night block. Something great to look forward to every week.
The late nite timeslot with Duck Dodgers and Freakazoid is pure kino and I'll be watching that often
Better show up on time, namegay
Ed grimley should take the 2am slot
Yeah, odd addition there. Not sure who asked for his show. I'd say is was cheap for residuals.
I'd love a ToonHeads-esque show
Cartoon All-Stars will probably be like that to. I dont know what Toon In With Me is either.
If by interesting, you mean original animated programming aimed at children or stoner college aged kids, then hopefully not. There's a dozen and a half zoomer cartoon channels that fulfill that purpose already.
If anything we will most likely just have threads like the Toonami (not)Generals. Since it is a network, and every anon will be experiencing the same line-up. So we have that going for us.
I wonder what kind of bumps we'll get. Like Nick at Nite, Cartoon Network, Cartoon Planet?
Apparently so, just need an portable tv antenna.
Evidently east central Illinois isn't worth it as the site says it's only on streaming services. I can't pick up any stations at my current location even with an antenna anyway, probably due to all the interference in the area.
>nothing for Sioux City, IA
boo
Nothing for Maryland, either. I ended up doing the Frndly TV service. Hopefully they actually have it at launch.
I already pirated my favorite cartoons from the 80's and 90's so...got all my childhood faves at hand. I think this is more for millennials and their pathetic children to discover when cartoons weren't agenda-driven shit by queer creators who hated the original version, ironically attempting to cash in on previous incarnations' good name.
I'm used to this attitude with games but why do so many people hate fun? "Oh, I'm super intelligent and pirate everything. Watch shows? Oh no I just have a digital hoard." It's fun to have a old style television cartoon channel again. One I can just have on while I game or do things for work. Sometimes it is nice to let someone else decide what is on to watch.
MeTV is mainly for boomers.
Linear TV is dying. Pay channels like Boomerang even more so. There's nothing WBD can do to change that, so they might as well try monetizing their library some more.
Remind me again, what the frick happened to Boomerang?
It's mostly a streaming service now. The TV channel still exists, but hasn't changed in a long time
>https://www.boomerang.com/
It's TV viewership started declining due to streaming and how it was commissioning shows for the channel.
>The channel should be broadcasting this weekend now.
I don't have an antenna right now. So is there a placeholder promo playing on the channel until it launches right now? Like this?
If so I'd love if some anon could record it. Witnessing the birth of a new animation channel is crazy.
Yep, turned it on, it's playing a promo of what they'll be playing.
Here you go, someone put it up last week https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_-Ae1aHvYQ
metv is kind of a shitty name
>Walked into a convenience store recently.
>A guy had a Darkwing Duck shirt on. I told him “cool shirt, man.”
>I walked to the back of the store where the coolers are. While deciding a beverage, I heard Darkwing-donned-doomerboomer talking to the cashiers “(something something) tells me cool shirt. I’m thinking he doesn’t even know what this is! Too young! *chuckles* Don’t compliment it if you don’t know what it is! Haha!”
>He walks out
I shouldn’t allow strangers the ability to cause me such feelings of dejection, but something about being accused of not recognizing a cartoon character of whom I knew of cut deep.
should've told him that you were the terror that flaps in the night.
If that homosexual even knew about the character he'd know he was very prominent in Ducktales and was at the end of that shitty Rescue Rangers film so nerdy zoomers would be aware of him regardless
The mixed media one? With ugly sonic?
