Frick off and take this off-topic shit with you.

    >hurr hurr it's a com-ACK!
Power Rangers is a bootleg version of live-action Japanese shlock. Frick off and talk about something that actually has the right to be on this board.

Anon I hate off-topic vermin as much as the next guy but that's like saying Cinemaphile can't discuss Dragon Ball FighterZ or the Batman Arkham Series
At least OP isn't making this an obvious trojan horse and is actually asking about the comics and not pulling a lazy ass "What if Rita Repulsa was freed on 616" question that's just begging for off-topic discussion

        >Cinemaphile can't discuss Dragon Ball FighterZ or the Batman Arkham Series
They shouldn't be talking about those things, because neither of those are video games, just like how Power Rangers isn't a comic book. Frick adaptations and the loophole they create. This is why the entire site is plagued with Star Wars spam.

By your logic, Cinemaphile couldn't talk about James Bond, Jaws, Jurassic Park, Silence of the Lambs, LotR, Rambo, Harry Potter, etc
And Cinemaphile wouldn't be able to discuss HTTYD or practically any Disney film adapted from fairy tales
Or Cinemaphile can't discuss Anne of the Green Gables, Moomins, etc
Or Cinemaphile can't discuss the Witcher

Mixbag but more good than bad
Darkest Hour's a slog though, it really shouldn't have lasted as long as it did and going back to one ongoing made things feel even more decompressed not helped that it's set-up also felt decompressed
    >lined up after they finish this run?
They outright confirmed we'll be getting news on the future of Power Rangers comics
Either next solicitations or something at SDCC
I'm crossing fingers for an anthology series ala Brave & The Bold if we're not gonna simply move onto Season 3 of MMPR
    >Why is the final issue of the Darkest Hour arc titled Issue #1?
The same reason why Shattered Grid ended on Shattered Grid #1

Yeah I'm not enjoying Darkest Hour much myself, it's pretty dull. I feel as though the Grid Shattering was a much more significant and life threatening event.
      >They outright confirmed we'll be getting news on the future of Power Rangers comics
Oh wicked, that's good, I haven;t heard about that myself. Good to know! If I have my say in what we get, I want MMPR to finally advance to Zeo, then (in a perfect world) we can get Rob Liefeld's Image Comics to put out another Power Rangers Zeo comic lol
      >The same reason why Shattered Grid ended on Shattered Grid #1
Gonna be honest, I hadn't even thought about that.

I have bought so many of them because I love the cover art and even the interior art is good. The colorist on these comics is doing a great jjob.

Yeah I buy them all too, partly to support the franchise and partly because I love the cover art. I'm collecting the zombie covers for Darkest Hour, I think they're great.

How could someone dislike these covers?
My only gripe is that the grid infection doesn't spread further down the lightning bolt as the series goes on.

It's a bit much for my taste
I thought the idea of zombie Rangers might be a tad tone-deaf for obvious recent reasons but at the same time, I sort of wished they did this and just go full Blackest Night and the grid infection right now by Dark Specter's just results in something like, BFTG palette swaps more than anything else

It really does feel like they're cleaning house
The one thing I am wondering though is if they're gonna correct the timeline with Scorpina
Her place in the canon makes zero fricking sense and before it can get even more confusing, having the universe reboot itself (again) seems like a decent patch

Recently read the TMNT/MMPR II crossover and enjoyed it. Art was great (pic related). Been reading The Return from the original Pink Ranger actress, its fine but forgettable.

      >its fine but forgettable.
The Return is better than I thought it'd be but not really blowing my mind after all the "hype"
I didn't really expect much but I do dig how the artist went above and beyond in trying to replicate the look of the show, especially with the Zords and Rangers themselves
Pic related is probably gonna be what's gonna linger in my head whenever I think about it though

It's in my shelf, but I haven't gotten to it yet. It's good then? I backed The Return on Kickstarter so I#m going to wait for the trade to arrive before I read it. A shame it's forgettable, all the same.

I actually think the whole "zombie ranger" thing was greatly under utilised. The Death Ranger is dope, in my opinion, and I would have loved to see them up to more shenanigans. So hyped up and given so much attention, just to fade away into the background of Darkest Hour.
      >having the universe reboot itself (again) seems like a decent patch
I'm not opposed to another reboot, especially now that Kimberly has been visited by the Pink Emissary and gotten her Shattered Grid memories back. It makes me feel like we're getting closer to having a cast that is aware of everything that has transpired and is better prepared for whatever the future can throw at them.

They're honestly just so pretty and stylized i love all the gradients they use and the poses

My favourite ranger aesthetic is the Ohranger/Zeo aesthetic. I would love for MMPR to evolve into the Zeo era.

Some of it feels like a retread of the Once & Always 30th Anniversary special. Overall its fine so far but nothing that special. Will see how the final issue goes.

Grim. I look forward to reading it when it arrives here, but in the mean time I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that it has a satisfying ending.

Ah, a fellow Zeo patrician. Nice. It still sucks that Turbo was a total regression from everything Zeo was setting up, all because David Yost (Billy) had a total mental breakdown over his gayness and fled without warning.

I used to think the comics is the best thing coming out of this franchise, that was during 2017-2018 when the israelite Saban is still holding the franchise and actively ruining it. Then Beyond the Grid happened and after that it's a steady decline to the point where the comics are embarrassing. It's also the prime exaple of Tumblr-people ruining comics.

But legit though, Go Go Power Rangers is pretty much the ideal Mighty Morphin for me.

I only got those because of Dan Mora's art, although the crossovers have always been fun. Honestly want an animated movie of Justice League/Power Rangers.

To add further, Boom's original designs are so fricking terrible. I hate the Omega Rangers (even more when there's an SPD Omega Ranger), Solar Rangers and much else. Really lacks that Sentai design cues.

Picked up Ranger Academy and found out that it's smaller than the free comic book day issue. Apparently this new size format is done to try and compete in the manga scene, which is just strange to me.
    >First issue has a they/them character with pink hair.

Digest size is made to make things cheaper for people to actually buy
If they don't sell it at actual bookstores though, it's a waste of time
Honestly, I just zoned out of Ranger Academy even before the FCBD issue came out
It's clearly not for me, so I'm not gonna care
I doubt it's gonna last as long as GGPR which longevity was apparently a surprise; at most it'll probably just last 4 trades total

Do Jungle Fury and Dino Thunder get any representation? Those were the only ones I watched (and finished) as a kid. Never finished Wild Force and Mystic Force but I remember liking them too though

Shattered Grid but not as main players
Higgins admitted Doctor Oliver not being incorporated was a missed opportunity that came down to room for the event though Darkest Hour is hinting on that opportunity finally being explored
As for Jungle Fury in specific, the last arc of Mighty Morphin involves Tommy and Kimberly fighting off reflections of future season villains consisting of Sledge (Dino Charge), Trakeena (Lost Galaxy), Void Queen (Dino Fury), Ransik (Time Force), and Dai Shi in Jarrod's body (Jungle Fury)

Well at least those seasons are still in people’s minds. I mean I should’ve guessed they wouldn’t be main characters since it’s Mighty Morphin specifically. I just hope characters like Doctor Oliver and RJ show up. And I hope this all leads to other seasons getting their own spin offs

Provided you're reading everything in order, I would suggest going back and giving them another try, there's so much to dig into at this point, something like 8 years of content.
As for the JL crossover, I thought it was kinda terrible, I bought the hardback for £5 though.

My advice is that if you're gonna try out BOOM's Power Rangers, at least read pre-timeskip GGPR
It's the perfect revamp of the Mighty Morphin formula

Yeah this is wisdom. Go Go Power Rangers is great. Not essential, if you ask me, but still very good.

I hope that after the current saga they finally arrive in the comics in season 3 (or at least have Rita and Zedd romance).

That would be pretty dope. I'm personally hoping for the Zeo era, but Season 3 is definitely a possibility too, especially seeing as how the Metallic Armour has been introduced which is, iirc, S3 material.
