What you're describing is definitely done by newbies who are desperate to fit in and be ahead of the curve in a sense.
But it's also kind of intrinsically true that things old-Cinemaphile would like are reddit because historically everything Cinemaphile has created has filtered down to the wider internet over time at which point it's no longer cutting edge and funny it's just fricking lame and old hat. Things that were being posted here in 2006 stopped being edgy enough for us in 2007 and 08 and became quintessentially reddit. Fricking trollface and shit became discarded as pure reddit slop for YEAAARS after being an original Cinemaphile creation.
It's meant to be constant evolution and pushing boundaries and conventions to stay on the cusp. Or it was. That's not really Cinemaphile anymore, it's lost its edge, it's full of normalhomosexuals, it's a mainstream site now and has been for years.
Discovered it recently. Really enjoying it. Episodes and jokes can be hit or miss. The fact that it's inspired, truly creative, and trying to be real art, all on a shoestring budget, makes me love it more
It's a sanitized version of a lot of those guys' work on Newgrounds in the early 2000s, but it's still okay. I miss Stamper so fricking much its unreal though.
