This got me thinking, because the new zombie girl was the villain, and she was the only zombie who could talk and the rest were literally morons. And the rest of the cast was not interesting at all.
I didn't like MH in that sense. I know it was for kids but they didn't dare to do anything with the setting or the characters. In Ever After High you knew that going to that High School was an important thing, and so was following their destiny or going in a different direction.
In MH there was some message about discrimination but then there was a whole monster world and that became irrelevant. And then it was about tolerance but it was just flat stupid because there was never an issue with different species in the same high school.
I would love to see a Monster High with the same level of writing as Ever After High.
In my opinion, zombies could be the rejected among the monsters, something like the gothics or the metalheads of MH.

Huh here in México city we had an event of those dolls two days ago, people actually fought to have one of those dolls and the waiting line was bonkers at the mall, it even was on the news.

There's always been a pretty active fanbase for MH and Mattel had only really recently started releasing collectors dolls and reproductions of the original dolls, along with other monster movie collector dolls, so hype has gone up

I never realized how much I appreciated Monster High just dropping us in the setting right away in G1 rather than giving an origin story like G2 or seemingly G3. Obviously G1 went into it later, but it hit the ground running with it.
