>most effective martial art in history
that's not BJJ though??
BJJ loses to wrestling
never. BJJ is the perfect counter to wrestling.
Never, Wrestling with strikes allowed negates BJJ.
?si=ZHrX8MXVnPAjtLVd&t=490
The most effective would be mma. Bjj will never beat mma.
MMA isn't a martial art
At this point it is, as you would approach an MMA fight in the same general way, not standing too upright and staying light on your feet.
>as you would approach an MMA fight in the same general way
Absolutely not. Style is still the deciding factor in most MMA fights, it's just that there's more overlap among fighters now. That's why you often see a rock paper scissors situation.
It's true styles make fights but winning in MMA more to do with playing to your strengths, If you're a great grappler but shit on the feet and I'm a good grappler but technical savant I could negate your grappling and win the decision or get the finish. there aren't too many fighters in the UFC that only fight in one style exclusively that is just stupid.
No way. MMA is integrated now and has been for years. Some of the top fighters have no base style and have been in MMA since day 1.
More integrated yes. Fully integrated absolutely not. How could you possibly say that when you have Alex Pereira able to come into MMA and win 2 titles within a few years? Top fighters still have glaring fundamental weak spots in their games.
Being big is an acceptable substitute for being able to grapple well at those literal garbage weight classes. Sean O'Malley has no foundation style at bantamweight, a real division.
Anyway you don't grapple the same in mma as grappling only, or strike the same as in Muay Thai or whatever. It's its own thing.
>present your anus to your opponent during a street fight
>his buddy jumps on your neck when you aren't looking
BJJ is insanely overrated.
every martial art is going to lose to being outnumbered
Apparently not if it's some asian mystical bullshit
According to morons, the average muay boran 'fighter' could take down a platoon of marines fully armed, including with combat vehciles
Nobody was even arguing for Muay Boran
>thread is about muay boran...
anon, SEVENTH time
they train by standing there and hoping they get a lucky hit in
In reality, the average boxer would murder them
Muay Boran and Muay Thai are two different things idiot.
Muay Thai is superior to MMA. They train for striking and practical "grappling" (i.e. knocking opponents down on the ground so they can pummel them.)
in a real fight, that's usually may have you jumped, it's better to keep moving than to roll on concrete
Pocket sand!
But even in a 1 on 1 situation, getting on your back and expecting your opponent to not just jump on your throat (an illegal move in UFC) is ridiculous.
He said "martial art" not "gay rape"
>most effective martial art
Anon, it doesn't include basics like: eye gouging, throat hits, shots to the balls, kidney punches, finger breaking, etc
it's generic 'magical asian shit'
this is a person that has never been in a fight before
please saar, make sure to demonstrate le 'magical dance to respect the magical ring'
"Magical asian shit" just watch a Muay Thai fight.
It's the same as the 'true matrial arts' of everything from that shithole area
>bro stand here, don't fricking fight with logic, let me just beat the shit out of you and you do the same to me
Kyokushin is the prime example of it along with muay boran
>bro we STAND here and do NOT move
Like yeah great
Now do that shit against Tyson in his prime and see how well 'take the hit' works
You're obviously trolling on the wrong board go to Cinemaphile.Just watch and if you think it's the same as karate have a nice day because your brain is fried from media.
>5:50
ah yes, the 'fight'
It's a fricking show, not a fight
same as shit like MMA
You can take your sport and frick off
It's useless in a fight against a proper fighter
We've known this for eons that 'sport' is not a fight and never will be
>b-b-but it's totes real, like they get hurt and shit!!!!
Bear baitng was also a 'serious' thing too
>It's useless in a fight against a proper fighter
You're the type of homie that starts shit then gets dropped by muay thai amateurs that have been training for 3 months
>homie
Ah, my sincere apologies, my black warrior
Let me rephrease
ooggaa booogaaa
You're right i concede, professional fighters are risking brain damage and or death to "put on a show" https://youtu.be/uV9e-Bw_HsU watch people get starched with proven techniques that work in the street or in the cage/ring and notice its bullshit against a proper fighter.
MMA = fighting without rules
kek
Alright then go challenge an MMA fighter to a no holds barred street fight. I'm sure you'll win right? You'll probably throw dirt in his eye like a ninja and put him down with a nut shot. Easy. You should do it.
>clearly you're an expert
I never said I was
But thank you for, the fifth time of moving the goalposts
Will you be doing it again, saar?
But anon you know about the secret forbidden technique of poking someone in the eyes which MMA fighters have never heard of. How could they possibly stop you? You think an MMA fighter even knows what a throat hit is? You got this man
annnnd trolling
have fun sweetie
It's obvious you're either trolling or completely moronic, You're welcome for wasting your time sweetie xoxo.
When everyone everywhere calls you a moron that's not "trolling" that's a bunch of people telling you the truth
this was a recent finishing combination in the ufc
The whole nut shot, eye poking, throat hit thing is legit though. I doubt it would work on a seasoned MMA pro but it would definitely work on rando drunk guy on the street.
Infinitely less useful than being able to effectively grapple and control another person. What are you going to do when your buddy gets a little rowdy at the bar, rake his fricking eyes out and collapse his trachea? Krav Maga shit is just silly and impractical. If you ever need to defend yourself to that degree you'd obviously just carry a gun.
Grappling isn't all that useful on the street. That being said it's a good thing to know, especially if you don't want to catch a case. I just hate how MMA caters to grapplers. It makes matches so boring.
It is very useful and absolutely essential to know. If you only know striking that leaves you prepared for 50% of a fight. If some guy bigger and stronger than you decides he's going to tackle you, you're absolutely fricked. You aren't going to eye gouge or nut shot your way out of it. You are completely subject to the will of another man.
Fightlet
I grappled in a street fight and caught a felony strangulation case just for leaving red marks on the hispanics neck.
Case was dismissed, but felony strangulation anons, don't touch the neck or cowards will walk away while you rot.
It's not that it doesn't work, it's just not as good as actual skill
What’s the minimum amount of martial arts training one would need to confidently beat almost any untrained person? I’m not really worried about trained fighters, they don’t pick fights in public for no reason. ’m worried about being jumped by some Hispanic or hassled by a drunk at a bar
You never said you were a moron either but everyone figured that out about you. I'm not the same guy you were responding to, either.
You stupid gay, if you get caught with a straight punch and go to sleep would that mean since professional fighters in a fixed ruleset use it that it doesnt work on the street?
was meant for
>sport
People always say this and it's always fricking stupid. You know what martial art used to big back in the day? Archery. Everyone used to train in it and big, eloquent books were written about it. Fights with bows and arrows were commonplace and archery training was 100% what we these days would call "for da streetz bro" and practical as frick. Then guns were invented and archery became a sport because people still wanted to do it out of interest in cultural heritage or just for fun, and nowadays if someone said to you they could teach you "street archery" for "real fights" you'd think they were an idiot because real fights have been won with guns instead of bows for the past 500 years.
You know what martial art beats Muay Thai? Pepper spray. It also beats karate chopping dudes in the throat, eye pokes, and even ball kicking. Get real you wannabe tough guy homosexual. A 79 year old woman with a $20 can of OC spray could BTFO a "real fighter" no less easily than she could a 14 year old that does taekwondo.
archery isn't a martial art, moron
By the literal definition of the term it absolutely is.
>Now do that shit against Tyson in his prime
Prime Overeem would skullfrick Tyson
>MUH KRAV MAGA
Okay, Shlomo.
>ah you must be israeli for... uh... I don't know? For not worshipping a fricking fitness contest about the art of the fight?
Look, you can your racist shit elsewhere, mmkay?
>Look, you can your racist shit elsewhere, mmkay?
You overplayed your hand.
aka crimes
>finger breaking
Have you ever even been outside?
ENTER
That's silat, you pleb.
pencak silat was my favorite browser game
Aikido is the only effective martial art
anyway, you can go on worshipping your magical ki morons who think 'standing there and hitting one another and trying to not move away because it's not fighting' all you want
put the average muay boran against an actual fighter and they'll die 11/10 times
Fact is, in a muay boran 'fight' where a boxer has to act like a moron, they'll lose.
put them in a real fight, the boxer kills them
Muay Thai doesn't do "ki."
I have never seen a grappler deal with someone who will bite, eye gouge, fish hook and nut shot.
Is this any good?
Muay Thai is based but it's still mostly dominated by brown asian manlets who mostly look the same and have weird names. It doesn't have centuries of history like boxing did in Europe and such, hence it doesn't have the same cultural impact. We'll probably see more MMA movies because of UFC so that's probably as close as we're gonna get
