Dark Side of Dimensions had a promo but because I live in Canada, I wasn't sure we'd get them. I ask both the theatre chain and the distributor. Both tell me the promo cards will be U.S.-only. I decided to stay home since it's basically a $20 ticket. I check Twitter later that night to find out that my local theatre was giving away the cards.
Yeah, it's a huge cost, but we also also had ways to getting Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl on the field pretty quick at that point, often on the same turn. From there the 'tribute' summon is actually a special summon, so doesn't count for/against your normal summon.
The real selling feature though, is that it says 'you can' negate. With Jinzo, it bars you from traps too, but with Sorcerer of Dark Magic, you can still use traps or let your opponent use traps (if the costs will fuck them). You have complete control over traps. ...at least until dude gets hit with fissure and is dies.
Having to draw him sucks too. What a weird time for Yu-gi-oh. It was speeding up, but still confined to that OG style of rules and didn't rely on the Extra Deck for everything.
I remember back in the day you'd go see a film and come out feeling like you've actually watched something worthwhile, this was well over a decade ago but still the best promotional item that I can recall
My dumbass mom saved these but not the actual cards because she thought they were useless and the gold ones will be valuable one day. So if anyone wants an extra jigglypuff i have like 5 of them
>raised by single mom >get her to take me to pokemon movie with friends from school >she flirts with guy handing out the cards >me and friends each get a handful, several complete sets
You'd think it'd be a good memory but all I remember is shame and embarrassment watching her lay it on thick like that.
She got her kid those cards he wanted, that's a win for mom in my book. Not enough modern men who appreciate working women. That's really the problem with this country I tell ya what.
when I found this card I got excited thinking it became a collectors item and I will make some money with all the pokemon tcg hype but nope its pretty common and cheap
im telling you the landing area of the dollar theater where you buy the tickets was completely crowded. last time i saw it this crowded was for the lego movie
Loved that about Pokemon and YuGiOh movies back in the day.

promo pack’s code is “MOV”
Kino
I remember getting that gimmicky pyramid of light and the sphinxes card from the first Yugioh movie, good times
they look cool as fuck but were unplayable garbage
These cards sucked ass.
lmfao all that to get a jinzo?

My mother worked with an Indian woman when this came out and I made her take the card to work so she could translate it.
I member the scratch and sniff era. Was total dogshit since you couldn't see which part to scratch and sniff in the dark theatre but still, I member.

Anyone remember these shits that you could get at Burger King?
Yeah, remember when they were valuable for like 3 years then everyone realized that there were tons of these
>playing the kiddie game
Pff, couldn't be me.
I only remember getting the spinning tops but my brother and I would battle with them all the time
My dumbass mom saved these but not the actual cards because she thought they were useless and the gold ones will be valuable one day. So if anyone wants an extra jigglypuff i have like 5 of them
God damnit mom
Stupid fucking bitch. That FUCKING WHORE.
>SON'S GONNA FREAK
I remember those but I also remember these 🙂
I still have these and my SSJ Goke base still lights up.
man I must've had like 30 toys. even had some pokeballs too
thanks pops
yeah but i didn't buy any
Forced my dad to go to the pokemon movie. He was probably bored out of his mind but I'll always associate this art with him.

Wholesome
Lmao everyone at summer camp assumed these were basically priceless. Only me and 2 other kids had em and it set us apart in the Pokemon card economy.

>card looks fake as shit but ends up being valuable
I thought these were fake
I'm pretty sure I got an Electrode one of these in a trade for another fake shiny I owned
If you have one of these in good condition it’s worth $10 gorillion dollers
I have a pile of them still in the wrappers because the lgs was gonna throw them away. Where do I collect my fortune
NTA, but TCGplayer or EBay are good starting points. Sealed Ancient Mews are about $100 on TCGPlayer.
Sealed ones sell for $30-$40 on eBay. No one cares about the listing price on some random website.
I’m convinced you have no idea how the trading card sphere operates. TCGplayer is the main online market for Yugioh and MTG.
who gives a shit, he just told you where to get one for 30% of your gaysphere's price
neat
>Weakness - Psychic
wut
Ghost types don't have their own symbol in the TCG, they share it with psychic types
That makes sense then
it was such a letdown to find out that the card was so shit. 30HP for fuck's sake
still have mine
even the dollar movie passed these out. maybe they were showing pokemon at the right time because of how popular it was
They got a crateload of cards to give with the movie. Too much even. TPC really thought it would top titanic given how popular it was at the time.

I had the Woola trading card from John Carter in my wallet for years.
That card was so fragile.
it was a sticker slapped on cardboard. I peeled mine off.
Surprised nobody has posted those popcorn vessels yet.
