>be a korean cop/detective >have your gf killed by a maniac >ask your gf's dad to magically bring the list of suspects that police fails to arrest and interrogate for some plot reason >start beating everyone on the list instead of investigating the murder (it's morally justifiable to beat the shit out of a dude jerking off to a porn in his own property for some reason) >finally catch the maniac >instead of locking him in a cage to torture him like he intends to do anyway, just put the tracking device inside him and set him free to take his revenge in return on cop's relatives/friends, and beat him time to time >cry a lot in the end because you took a life and not because your stupid actions led to further sufferings of your close ones
This movie not only insists upon itself, it hardly delivers the message it tried to deliver. I tried to like this movie tbh.
Lmfao way to out yourself as a complete brainlet that actually missed the point of the film. It essentially is about gazing too long in the abyss and realising the abyss gazes also. Cope more, try hard homosexual.
Just because you didn't comprehend the movie doesn't mean it wasn't good.
I know that movie tried to prove a point that "revenge BAD", and that revenge will eventually backfire on the main character, but it backfires just because MC is fucking stupid. What was he expecting by setting his worst foe free? That he will torture him for eternity with no consequences? It's just childish for a character that they tried to portray as responsible as possible.
Could've been kino if the cop killed oldboy's family along with him, becoming the same person he swore to fight with, and therefore continuing the cycle of violence. But alas, this movie is too pussy to do it and I expected korean cinema to be more mature in that regard.
The movie would have worked better if the cop had become a serial killer in his pursuit for the actual serial killer, just because he lost his shit after he found all these killers that associate with the actual serial killer.
When people have tunnel vision they don't usually come up with elaborate plans to occasionally beat the same person who killed their loved one to prove some point to the merciless killer with no regard to human life, in the instance of the main character, they usually just kill them. It does not justify the stupidity of MC's actions.

Luckily the film does something more interesting with that than what you usually get in the serial killer revenge genre. He intended to torture him the rest of his life and make him live in fear and despair; because to the character that fate seemed worse than death, which is also freeing.
The plot of fucking dumb just get over it

so now he's not in the wrong? you have some moral issue to work out you fucking robot
he has tunnel vision. that generally means a fixated point, which is what he has
He literally does continue the cycle of violence and despair by traumatizing a child for life (son of the serial killer). That might end up being another tale of revenge in itself, or something just as dark or darker. And your complaint about a 'responsible' character doing something outlandish that backfires not being realistic is absurd; as if people always act logically and never make mistakes in real life. And lmfao if he would have killed his family that would have been shock shit that doesn't make sense to what the character actually is. That definitely wouldn't have been more mature, you teeny zoomer brainlet. Aside of your shitty 'le plot stupid' arguments you forget to mention the cinematography, world building and general atmosphere of this film is all very high tier - and so is the music and acting.
revenge is... le bad
nice le argument that can be superimposed over everything you degenerate.
>change the topic from plot to muh cinematography to avoid the awkward questions
Meh, I've seen better cinematography in oldboy and memories of the murder. I was expecting for at least the plot captivating me and explaining why the cop does the weird shit he does, but movie doesn't and instead insists on that "revenge le bad m'kay???".

Have another you, kid. I know it's hard to be young and undesirable. If you stop being a homosexual maybe your parents would love you.
Oldboy and Memories of Murder are the only truly great Korean thrillers. I Saw the Devil, Bittersweet Life, Man From Nowhere, Chaser, Mother, The Wailing all range from OK to trash
Why don't you fucking retards get what I'm saying?
The film makes no logical sense, no cop would immediately come up with a complicated plan, he'd just shoot the guy. The director just wanted a convoluted story to justify a le deep ending.
Zoomers and urban types don't belong on /film/
everyone likes this movie. what kind of homosexuals are you hanging out with?
>everyone likes this movie
Prove it
I like it

his wife died and he had tunnel vision. that's what most revenge movie are. how young are you?
>its generic
Great argument

Why do all Korean movies insist upon themselves so fucking hard
I found it too fucking dumb to really enjoy, korean films always go overboard with their melodrama
I watched this with an ex-gf and it like traumatized her, dumb bitch.
What's so traumatic about it?
he raped her during the movie
Ugh yikes
More like Citizen Lame

This but unironically, I'm the only conscious person and so everything I think is actually an objective fact
You are literally nothing to me

If cop movies were realistic it would be completely boring shit no one wants to watch, movies are escapism entertainment and not reality
Okay cool good thing you're ass isn't in Hollywood then. Mommy mommy give me shooty shooty, pit this monkey against that one. Fuck off man, seriously.
>a cop
did u watch the movie
Did you?
He's a literal dishonest pig just like the rest of them. If that was the angle this film was going after then yeah okay...its fine I guess.
Loooool this guy didn't even watch the moviee
I really enjoyed it. Just torturing his wife's killer while contues trying to kill.
No cia movies are that good.
