The big thing with eating fast food all the time is the salt. It's difficult to meal plan to meet your calorie and nutrient needs without 5000mg of sodium.
Super Size Me could have been interesting If it was one guy doing meticulous meal planning and never touching a soda and Spurlock doing what he did eating as much as he could with soda and alcohol at every meal. But that's not the story he wanted to tell, he wanted to say "if you consume 20,000 calories and 15,000mg of sodium and a liter of liquor every day you'll get fricked up and therefore fast food BAD" and not "you could eat just this stuff but it takes a lot of thought and planning and most people are too stupid for either of those things"

Source is the man's own mouth
In the dual protagonist ideal version of Super Size Me the one eating as much as possible being a raging alcoholic would work, a person with one extreme unhealthy habit is likely to have more and that would represent that comorbidity. Him doing it alone and hiding it just proves the whole thing is bunk

besides the low quality oils used instead of animal fat there's nothing wrong with fast food boigahs that you wouldn't get buying the cheapest off-brand ingredients at the store and making it yourself. other than that there may be some traces of fluorine and plastic from the wrappers and packaging but that's pretty insignificant and common many food products

It's not "great" for you, it's just not the dangerous poison Spurlock and all the diet-gays online will have you believe. Some items from some restaurants are worse than others, but people losing weight eating fast food on moderation has been documented. some dude ate 1 fish filet for every meal for an extended period and lost weight. There's a guy who has a world record for basically eating nothing but Big Macs and he's not turbo fat or anything. If you go balls to the wall and do nothing but chase double-quarter-pounders with Milkshakes and coca cola, and then throw a large order of fries on top of that and consume that shit every day or every other day? Yeah, you're gonna get Fat as frick real quick, especially if you're boozing in between meals like Spurlock And don't exercise.

Given how many people eat fast food on a daily basis, I'm kind of shocked at the fact that people really trusted the message of this film at face value. Not a single person questioned any part of it. I mean, even beyond the "yeah obviously if you overeat thousands of extra calories you're going to gain weight, where's the story here" part, but the idea that he would be vomiting in his car and experiencing serious health issues after eating a handful of McDonald's meals, come on already. No, I'm a defender of people's choice. If you have a legitimate right to speak about that choice, like, they create a strain on the health care system raising the prices for you, then get to the root of the problem, which is people's lack of resources, whether it be time, money, or education. It's not their fault that things weren't disrupted in the best manner for all.

Linseed oil or flax, has the highest omega 3 to 6 ratio of all oils. A problem that most industrial and post industrial societies have, is a 3 to 6 ratio about 1:20, when a healthy one is 1:4 to 1:1. So stop badmouthing flaxseed oil. It will decrease cardiovascular and neural degrative diseases in the population. Stay in school kid.

I'm no doctor but in order to confirm anything with the liver you have to have blood tests done. Unless you jaundice or pain where your liver is a doctor can't look at you and say "Yep, no problems with your liver".

You have to specifically test for liver function though. It's not a test they do everytime someone walks in for a physical. I'm 38 and I've never had a doctor ask to test my liver function in my entire life.

Why are linking to a generic page about blood testing? Did you even read what you posted?

You must be young, I'm guessing under 20. When you go in for a physical they don't test for everything, they only test for things if there is a reason. For instance a liver function test is only recommended when:

                >A comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP) can provide helpful information in many different situations, including:

                >If you’re experiencing symptoms related to kidney, liver and/or metabolism issues.

                >If you’re experiencing a general symptom, such as fatigue. Since a CMP measures several important aspects of your blood, it can help determine or rule out certain causes of a common symptom.

                >If you had a prior test result that was abnormal, your provider may want to test again to see if your levels have changed or remain abnormal.

                >If you’re taking a treatment for a medical condition, your provider may test to see if the treatment is working.

                >If you’re starting a new medication that can affect your kidney or liver function.

The fact is that no one knows what hell they did because the records were never released. I wouldn't put it past this scam artist to intentionally not mention anything about being an alcoholic to the doctor the first time he went. So the doctor never did a liver function test. The second time he went the doctor knew that he was eating an extremely high fat diet(more than any reasonable person would consume) and probably thought a liver function test was appropriate. The doctor didn't know he was a raging alcoholic, if he did he probably would of told him to not even try eating fast food for 30 days.

so if he was such a con artist, why didn't mcdonalds just sue him?

Optics mainly. They would stand to lose more than they gain. Is it really that difficult of a concept to understand? McDonalds is a publicly traded company, they have an obligation to the share holders first and foremost.

You can believe what you want to believe but the fact they never released any logs or records for the entirety of the time the documentary was being filmed speaks volumes. Almost like they were trying to hide something.

It takes time and constant abuse for something like fatty liver disease to happen. There is zero chance eating fast food for 30 days would cause it. But what would cause liver issues is if starting to drink when you 13 and never stopped.

Yes, he did. All of his symptoms were caused by alcoholism. Nothing he experienced could be attributed to poor diet, not that quickly.

If being an alcoholic tainted the results of the experiment, why was he so healthy before he started? Wouldn't he have been an alcoholic then, too?

                >why was he so healthy before he started?
He wasn't. Him paying a doctor to say on camera that he was doesn't mean he was. Did he release any medical records related to this?

Because it was better PR to say "yeah, we have been doing things wrong, we're going to improve by adding healthy options and removing the Super Size, thank you for shining a light on how we can be better". Which headline will garner more public goodwill: "McDonald's sues documentarian!" or "McDonald's improves product in response to documentary"?

Unironically though, businesses shouldn't be allowed to defend themselves against any allegations of wrongdoing. They can't be trusted to tell the truth. If a business is accused of wrongdoing it should just be forced to pay damages immediately
