Name a comedy with more SOVL
>dream project for the creator

Monk, but I like both.
I feel both are about the same in terms of quality
The recasting ruined it imo (the comfy factor)
Comfiest show ever
even comfier then arrested development
It's okay. The writing becomes so insanely idiotic and the pacing so awful it's hard to watch past the first few seasons. It is comfy as hell though.
Season 6?
Six is the absolute last season I'd watch. They forgot that shaun was a smart guy acting like an idiot and just made him an idiot, among many other very bad changes.
Same. Last Night Gus is still among the funniest episodes in the later seasons though
characters getting dumber/ becoming more archetypal is something that happens with most long running shows.
Why is that
I’m not a writer so just my opinion but I feel it’s a matter of if it ain’t broke don’t fix it but it’s hard to evolve characters in comedies like psych.
it's easier to write, and it often gets better fan reaction. look at friends. joey was a drooling moron by the end, but the jokes were easier to write because of it and the viewers ate it up. even if a show you created was a dream project eventually it just becomes work so they start just going through the motions and writing what comes easy.
No
Because the more things we see a character go through, the better an understanding of who and what the character is gets honed in on by both the audience and writers. Early seasons is like the first few years of meeting and getting to know someone, they are exploring who the character is. And as seasons get on, everyone has a clearer and clearer picture of who they are and what they will do in any given situation. Violating that inbuilt expectation means the writer has a poorer grasp of who the character is than the audience.
It's like a decades long friendship or marriage. After a while you start to know what they feel, what they value and how they act in any given situation. But if they suddenly don't act according to your expectations, then you will feel like you don't know them at all, that the entire friendship or marriage has been a facade, a lie.
I agree, but that doesn't mean I'm going to slog through it just because it started off with heart and soul. It's more of an insult to just start phoning it in after the initial success.
>that doesn't mean I'm going to slog through it
i didn't tell you to
That's true of most of the good USA network shows like Monk, Psych, Burn Notice, etc. They all kind of peter out near the end but the first few seasons you can watch over and over.
take me back, bros.
what a time to be alive....
>no crossover episode
they really dropped the ball
There was one in the finale (barely)
You know that's right.
pretty comfy show tbh
i should give it a rewatch
It still holds up
its a shit show and always reminds me of chuck, or my name is earl, or scrubs, for some reason, which are all much better shows
>chuck
lol anon that show is a guilty pleasure of mine but no chance it’s better than psych
are the movies worth my time?
I liked them
They’re good too
your time worthless
kino
>get into psyche for the first time a few months ago
>halfway through gets removed from Amazon prime video
>still hasn't been put on any other service
>can't find a magnet anywhere
suffering
>halfway through gets removed from amazon prime video
Happened to me too lol. I was on Season 7 I think.
Frick streaming services. I'm glad I torrent 99% of what I watch
its still on prime and peawiener in burgerland, at least according to justwatch
i also have the whole shebang on dvd,so it doesnt really matter for me personally
you might be moronic
>Psych
>Monk
>House
>Scrubs
>Lost
early/mid-2000's were peak broadcast TV and nobody can change my mind
I'm still mad at how they assassinated Juliet's character at the end by turning her suddenly moronic.
Torrents are alive and well
>started dating some girl for for 4 months last summer
>she recs psych
>I watch until S2 until she ends it
>Don't watch for a couple of months
>Pick it back up
>It's comfy and funny
>Waiting for my brain to forget the plots so I can rewatch it
