Any show that ends on a cliff hanger
In Colony they sent the main character into space to fight a galactic war against aliens, nuked his wife, and then didn't get renewed for another season so those were the last scenes
Honestly if they'd made that the ending, but did it in a way that made it clear it was the end, it would have been the highest of kino. But like
I liked that show. The societal degradation aspect was done very well (especially after seeing how it works in real life during covid). The network did them dirty, could've at least given them a chance to do a proper finale. Instead they cancelled the show a few days before the finale aired.
this anon said, it was cancelled when it was right on the doorstep so it just felt like getting blue-balled with this build up to the Finno-Korean Hyper-war and no payoff

Just watched this. How did they fuck it up? They had everything they needed and Seinfeld just decided to wax romantic in the last minute to try and “complete” the series?
it really doesn't have any significance at all except in a really terribly executed "joke" that the character tells, which the love interest takes interest in, then the writers realize is the only "moment" they can reference when trying to make a callback to the first encounter.
it's this weird phenomenon where the jokes that a character will tell are never funny, probably because the writers want to make the jokes the events of the script instead of any of the dialogue "in narrative" jokes actually having any effort.
the entire premise of the show was incredibly weak. hey kids sit down and let me tell you about the 46 women I fucked before I met your mother and killed her with HPV cancer.
also the dvd bonus alternate ending was how the show should have ended.
Jesus was that last episode a cluster fuck. Just random time-jump scenes of Robin walking in and out of scenes, terrible rushjob handling of stories that took nearly a decade to tell, discarding all good will and anticipation built by the show the entire time, only for it to lamely call back to the first episode in the last scene like it means something despite the decades of time elapsed. Why would that same blue horn even be there? Or even that restaurant? And the instant unspoken resolution? Fuck HIMYM. That last season sucked with the endless wedding weekend or whatever the fuck that was. Awful. Great show that hurt itself in confusion in the home stretch.
>Passive aggressive name calling
okay homosexual >It was comfy up to a point
So it was a shit show, not whatever "comfy" means to your internet meme culture addled brain.
A shit ending to a shit show, that's the topic.
>it really wasn't
Care to expand then homosexual? Easy to be a wordless cunt.

You can't even explain a show without devaluing it to comfy
I don't owe brainlets an explanation.

>I have no idea what I'm talking about, I just like being a contrarian dick on Cinemaphile because it provides me with the self-esteem I can't find in real life
Gotcha
It's fiction. It's artificial clockwork. Whether it resolved well or not is reflective of the writers' ability creating the artifice. You can do anything in fiction. Fucking up the conclusion is shameful because they wasted everyone's time who look forward to a satisfying ending. See: Game of Thrones.
Game of thrones
fpbp
Worst ending of any primetime show in the century so far
Nothing will ever top this. It's been 4 or 5 years now and I am still mad as fuck.

Can any HIMYM lorefag explain the significance of the blue trumpet?
Have you literally watch the first episode?
No.
Well do that pleb
nta but I wouldn't waste 20 minutes of my time on some shitty sitcom episode when some other anon can waste 20 seconds of theirs spoonfeeding me.
Fucking retard
Then why the fuck are you in this thread you retard? lmao you esl posters keep getting dumber. Terrible non American education system.
Take your meds

The entire point if its a reference to the first episode, are you fucking stupid or something?
did this really filter people that much?
Him being with Robin was the best period of the show anyway, I liked them together
WRONG, him being with Robin has nothing to do with the best period of the shpw
I enjoyed the cat funeral gag song
the entire premise of the show was incredibly weak. hey kids sit down and let me tell you about the 46 women I fucked before I met your mother and killed her with HPV cancer.

St. Elsewhere, and anything else that ends on an "it was all a dream/in someone's mind" bullshit.
Quantum Leap. They quickly had to come up with a series ending so they went with text on screen that said the main character died.
Didn't they spell his name wrong or something
Yep
That’s referring to Dr. Sam Becket who died in world war 2. Sam Beckett of quantum leap could have made it back for all we know
he didn't die, he just never leapt back to his original home.
duh ending ending ending
ending
ending
duh ending
I don't think the word "weak" properly represents the absolute clusterfuck that were the last 30 minutes of that show

When a show runs for that long, just give the audience what they expect imo.
One of the worst sitcoms to ever air had a shit ending?
I'm shocked
Do you think people get so autistic about endings are the same people that hopes the end of their life is as idealistic.
Sometimes things just end and you never get closure. That's life.
DID WE FUCKING WIN OR NOT AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
dexter
How this show even got an ending without getting cancelled outright is astounding
I have never seen a good episode of it and I've seen most of them.
