Nope. Couldn't stomach having to put up with the dragged out pacing of the anime. I put up with the series up until Dressrosa. Once that arc was wrapped up, I jumped ship. The series was getting worse and worse since the timeskip and it was just unbearable by then.
No, I stopped after Luffy took out Doflamingo. I really liked early One Piece and what the manga became later as it went was just not the same. Though I do get it. Things change and stakes have to be raised. I just didn't really jell with it anymore. I have heard that there have been some wild new events and arcs, but it's hard for me to want to go back in when I was so drained by the grind that was the post timeskip bits.

Well, big thing is it turns out luffy didn't eat the rubber fruit, he actually effectively ate the rubber-hose fruit. It is why things like gear 3 work.

Oh, so that's why he's using toon force stuff now? Even with out keeping up with the series I've seen that posted around a bit. That explains that then. Alright, you know that's actually kind of cool. I don't know if or when I'll ever get back into the series but I like that spin on things. I guess while I'm asking this stuff, has Kuro shown up yet? I always had a bit of a soft spot for him.
You got filtered by the Davey Back Fight, didn't you, Anon...?
What? No, it's been a long while but I remember it being dumb, but good dumb. Hell, I say stop after Alabasta but I also remember liking Skypiea. The arc that started to drag a bit on me was Water 7. It wasn't until after the timeskip that I started to get really put out by the manga.

Kuro? The finger swords guy from syrup village? No, he has not shown up again.
But speaking of old characters doing things, Crocodile, Mihawk, and Buggy have joined forces with Buggy being declared an emperor of the sea, because Crocodile and Mihawk think being the face is too much work.

Not that anon, but WTF didn't think Mihawk was much of a bad guy.

[S] Enter was the first one that took the comic from amusing to "oh shit there's story here." The lead up after that with [S] Jack: Ascend and [S] Rise Up were great too. It's been forever since I read it but [S] Descend made me decide I NEEDED to stick with this thing.
The trolls had some diamonds in there but we didn't realize at the time the tunnel was showing signs of structural degradation. But getting back to the kids produced a lot of diamonds.
I'm of the opinion that [S]Jade: Wake Up was the start of the decline. The last diamond we got was [S]Cascade and then it was dirt dirt dirt. We were all captive to sunk cost fallacy though.
Can we make this thread mainly about Homestuck now that this has been brought up?
Cause I can't make an actual Homestuck thread. Jannies will just delete it on sight for some reason.
Let's talk about this, what exactly defeated Lord English, because I am still fricking confused by that.
You're right to be confused because it didn't make sense, it was nothing. It was SUPPOSED to be some clever complex thing Hussie dreamed up - I was expecting at least the level of the end of Problem Sleuth. But no, Vriska threw some meat soldiers at him and suddenly there's a black hole? Bullshit, Hussie didn't know what he was going to do and checked out of the series before he figured it out.
The Simpsons fricking sucks, overrated as hell, but I actually went and found the only two decent episodes in the whole thing:
S02E14 Principal Charming
S15E18 Catch 'Em If You Can
Both of them are outside the supposed "golden age" lmao
Aside from hitting more heavy and consistent with the jokes, it's a tone and outlook that's more like seizing life by the horns. The characters are all actually getting up to things with their time before the plot kicks in and engaging in sharp banter. Most of The Simpsons takes this really sort of drab, defeatist view of society where it feels like there's nothing to look forward to in their world, and the characters are only there to experience misfortune and be mocked. Principal Charming is the only episode that made Patty and Selma actually seem like human beings, and it also has the best-constructed joke in the show, tying together two subplots. Catch 'Em If You Can has more of the Futurama-style humour where it's cynical and harsh without being bleak, and the characters all feel thick-skinned enough to take it.
>the best-constructed joke in the show, tying together two subplots
just remembered the one where the kids are on a sinking ship at the end saved by Homer flushing hundreds of springs down the toilet made me piss myself as a kid, but I'm not sure the rest of that episode was worth anything
I do find it interesting that this thread has in discussion two medias that probably have the only interesting multi-narrative and character story get settled in one arc.
[S] Cascade for Homestuck
Marineford for One Piece
one piece
No, One Piece is more like this.
Shit take, bet you are an anime only

So you haven't seen the events of whole cake island, wano, and egghead? Shit got CRAZY.

Anything after TS except for Egghead is genuine dogshit
OP peaked at Arlong.
You got filtered by the Davey Back Fight, didn't you, Anon...?
So fricking accurate
One Piece has been bad longer than it has been good. Basically just like the Simpsons.
Peaked in skypiea
Impel down was amazing too
I have watched until dressrosa but so far it hasn't come even close
Skypiea is dogshit

Just watched those to refresh and yeah Descend has some cool stuff. I totally forgot about the grand chessboard or whatever as an element.

The simpsons

True. People don't want to admit it, but Futurama skullfricks the Simpsons in every aspect.
Yeah Futurama has loads of bangers, How Hermes Requisitioned His Groove Back and Bend Her are my favourites.
Absolutely shit taste, anon.
Just awful
Interesting. What makes those two episodes stand out?

life
Angel Hare, most analog slop for that matter
For me it was svtfoe with the whole star cuck time, it seemed as if it was going to be gold, but then it turned into pure dirt
I'd day that what most often happens is that they'll find some nice diamonds at first, but as they keep digging and pushing nothing comes out.
I do find it interesting that this thread has in discussion two medias that probably have the only interesting multi-narrative and character story get settled in one arc.
[S] Cascade for Homestuck
Marineford for One Piece
Star Trek: Lower Decks
Golden Age comics.
