Netflix cracking down on password sharing is reasonable. Hear me out here: 10,000,000+ households are using and getting value out of a subscription service for free thats intended to be paid for.
Netflix has turned a blind eye to this for over a decade and been super chill, but given the current market conditions it needs to show increased growth and its fully reasonable for them to go after the lowest possible hanging fruit, which is freeloading existing users on other peoples accounts.
I get that it seems petty for a massive corporation to try and get existing subscribers to pay for additional households or to block out 3rd or 4th devices on an existing account, but this was inevitable. It costs billions and billions of dollars to produce content, purchase licensing rights and host/distribute the platform. Not to mention their 10k+ high paid silicon valley employees and offices.
Netflix isn't a monopoly. There are cheaper alternative streaming services and sources of entertainment (Youtube is free, so is Ad version Hulu..). Netflix for trying to recoup money from freeloading users/generous friends isn't 'evil capitalism' and people b***hing about it have just gotten so used to it that they forgot that they've been taking advantage.
Why don't they just learn how to pirate?
Why can you have multiple profiles then
What's the point if you're the only one allowed to use it
A family who live together, or a house with a bunch of housemates.
for different people who live in the same household.
more people would pay for it if there was worthwhile shit on there. the only netflix originals worth watching are the irishman, better call saul and mindhunter. all of these shows have been cancelled. everything else is something old they've bought the rights to. why should i feel bad for them when they've pissed away millions of shitty rick and morty knockoffs and those boring stock footage 'documentaries' they keep pumping out. i can't barely watch anything without it being an unwatchable blurry mess.
if i pay for 4 screens, i should be able to use 4 screens at once. that simple
How is that not password sharing
>Why can you have multiple profiles then
>What's the point if you're the only one allowed to use it
You're joking... right?
So each account is tuned to the shows they like idiot
What if you have multiple houses? Are you expected to have a different account for each one?
>t. apartment homosexual who visits his parents house on the weekends occasionally.
Because it was only to have one password and just switch when you want.
have a nice day homosexual.
I pirate all my content, so I don't care what they do.
this homosexual deadass copy and pasted some shit from reddit on Cinemaphile lmaooooo
>inb4 you must use reddit too
nah, i just goodlted the first line cause it sounded reddity as frick and i was right. lmfao we got a fricking redditor here no cap!
MURDERED
all my bait posts are copypasted from reddit
Guess that explains why a ton of boards are so shit now.
Nice spot. "Super chill" was the giveaway for me, such an homosexualy Reddit phrase
i just assume the b***hy long posts here are copied from reddit and then i ignore them.
This has been a common phenomenon recently. It started around the beginning of this year.
>simping for a billion dollar company
Most people are just going to not watch Netflix at all if they end password sharing
It’d be smarter to have a tier system with commercials
Commercials aren't the way to go. Especially on streaming services. I occasionally watch the likes of Pluto TV, and Freevee on Amazon and ads can be pretty intrusive. Especially with movies. With TV shows, they don't always line up with when commercials are meant to happen.
It'd just make people cancel their subscription rather than deal with it.
Zoomers don't watch shows. They put it on in the background while they browse on their phone. Commercials will not affect them either way.
I tried watching a TV show on my dad's paid Hulu a few weeks ago. Commercial came on between episodes, I honestly didn't know paid streaming services had ads now. Any time I see any ads now, I stop watching it and torrent it.
I used youtube today, without an adblocker for thr first time in 10 years, it was absolutely terrible, was looking for a video to change a part on a car, I just gave up after the first couple of attempts, Jesus christ, I don't know how people can put up with it.
whenever i see a commercial i mute it and look away. on my PC i have adblock 24/7, even on spotify which i don't pay for.
ublock origin is a godsend
And going the way of the dinosaur when Google releases Manifest v3 and Firefox cucks out with them.
>Netflix for trying to recoup money from freeloading users/generous friends isn't 'evil capitalism'
lol they'll kill their business model like says when they do. their desperate search to stop themhemmoraging money for many quarters now is their own fault for making their monetization like a tv version of gacha's free to play now/pay to win setup. best get your long puts in now gents
See, I used to have a Netflix account that I let my brother log into. Then we both had an account. Then only he had an account that he offered to let me log into, but I declined. Today, neither of us have a Netflix account.
They keep telling themselves, oh yeah it's the account sharing, it's that we haven't been charging enough, etc. instead of focusing on the 2 simple things they actually need to do that would make old customers come back, new customers give it a chance, and current customers content.
Getting money from 1/4 is still more than 0/4 - also these people shared their watching experience with each other which generated more paying customers and tied the existing accounts to not cancel the subscription.
moron move
you're a moron and the exact kind of person who should be running netflix, so it can burn to the ground
like trying to say that costco should bump the prices on their hotdogs. fricking stupid.
cringe cope seethe dilate not my problem ywnbaw kys
The moment any new Netflix show shows up it is available for free everywhere on the internet in the exact same quality.
How fricking moronic you have to be to pay for that?
I don't torrent anymore, sick of my ISP sending me letters threatening to end my service.
use nordvpn and use to promo code pewdiepie for 80% your first year of service
don't download just stream from 123movies etc
frick netflix
FRICK NETFLIX!
KYS SHILL!
Despite Netflix splitting up Stranger Things to prevent people from unsubscribing until their quarterly report was due, they still lost 1 million subs in that period.
It's fricking over, they have so little of value and so much shit like their Resident Evil show in the pipeline. Also they've spent insane money on movies which is a single evening of content, they are so insanely incompetent that you start to wonder if people at the top is secretly working for Amazon or Disney.
Netflix can frick off. I'm cancelling my subscription anyway. Too much cringe woke zoomer politics.
>Netflix cracking down on password sharing is reasonable
it would be.... except the CEO of netflix told us all to share our passwords.
Shill.
Im not reading all that shit.
Im not paying for something that is free.
Netflix should be paying me to watch some of the shit they put out.
If all streaming services shutdown tomorrow and all "content creator's" suddenly died then life would go on unabeted. I would find a new form of entertainment.
In conclusion, frick you I don't care, go back.
It's also sensible to allow ads in streaming
Ads give me the much needed time to think about what i'm thinking and relax from high stress shows like BCS and BB
i miss them, legacy tv did some things well
And don't forget guys, they will be putting ads in you paid streaming services. Ads in paid streaming services.
They're fricked. You have to be incredibly naive to believe the majority of their customers will understand and think it's fair. People are far too entitled these days.
How much did they pay you to post this here? Frick off
Corporation make thing
People get accustomed to thing
People feel entitled to thing
People feel angry when they take their entitled thing
Even when noone, ever, told them that their product consumption will be in status quo all their life
People need to learn that what they have is fleeting and stop acting like spoiled little brats
War should be mandatory every 20-30 years
Why don’t they just put a banner ad at the top of the home menu? Tens of millions of views per day guaranteed and you don’t have to be disruptive to viewers.
Along with beta Spotify the only reason I ever used Netflix was "it was more convenient than piracy". The cost was worth it.
What do they have now?
I only have Netflix because my father and his prostitute wife like to watch boomer television when they're going to bed. The Netflix catalog is such shit I've regularly been thinking of cancelling my subscription. If they make it so I can't let my father freeload off my Netflix, I am immediately canceling that shit.
Most of the stuff boomers like has been removed from Netflix
don't give a frick what they do i'm never paying for media and nothing hollyisraelite does will ever change that
ARE YOU READY KIDS?
They won't crack down on password sharing, they simply can't afford to alienate their whole audience when they need them to watch their shows. Most Netflix shows genuinely only make money on normies clicking on random shit and watching it because it's on their home page. Less people on Netflix = less money. Most people don't watch enough different things to warrant subscribing separately. They'd be moronic to believe that anyone would seriously pay separately when there is a million other streaming services, pirate websites and torrenting.
Netflix was only good in the first few years because they basically had majority of the licenses, I remember the feeling of knowing a movie or TV show would be on there, now I Google and it's all
>on Prime Video
>on Disney+
>on Apple TV
etc, what does Netflix really have that you can't get somewhere else? Even normies aren't too moronic to search "movie free online" to find a particular film.
>using your netflix in you're multiple houses as you travel
>money stolen
