> One Piece literally has a hero character who is trans and says gender doesn't matter >Netflix shoves gender/pronouns in viewer’s face
Seems like Netflix thinks gender matters a lot.
Thankfully, this shit will NEVER get to Ivankov. He’s too based for a western adaption
I don't know what the frick they are thinking. To pull off live action One Piece you'd need LOTR level dedication and budget and even then it would be hard. This is doomed from the start what the frick are they thinking. The only question really is "How bad CAN it be"
I feel sorry for the actor to forever be associated with that shit, cause they look genuinely excited about it, but even if the actors were top notch they wouldn't be able to save a poor quality production
Dunno who Klahadore is, Mihawk, Zeff, Morgan and Kaya look fine and Nojiko is typical Netflix casting. Goes to show that they actually wanted to turn Nami black but Oda probably had a say in who they should pick for the Straw Hats and the rest of the cast is probably whatever
Actually it is the truly most diverse and actually uses multiple nationalities for the Straw Hats like Oda intended.
It's maybe the first series so far that doesn't do the "Diversity = black" thing
>going merry has a satanic goat head
Sad day
I’ve seen people try to justify it as being ‘intimidating’ for pirates, but those people are fricking moronic. The dumb happy sheep head and the bright lion of the Sunny is symbolic of the optimism of Luffy and the general ‘smile through the hard times’ of the series
If Nojiko needs to be sacrificed for Netflix to get their BLACKED fix I think that's a sacrifice I'm willing to take. It's not like anyone particularly cares about Nojiko
I mean it's still unnecessary and dumb and of course people are going to complain turning a random side character black for absolutely no reason on the other hand One Piece doesn't have a lot of black people so might as well sacrifice unimportant side character for the black quota
> It's not like anyone particularly cares about Nojiko
Arlong Park is the first really great arc of the series, so there are tons of fans that hold those characters really close. Genzi was my fav of that arc.
oh dont worry, the rest of the cast will have to drastically adjust their acting style and theyll conform the character to work with her basic acting skill because making Black folk do anything outside of sounding like themselves is racist
Why do dishonest troony gay liberals deliberately misrepresent mockery as "anger" or "triggered" or even "meltdowns"?
The whole world is pointing their finger at you and laughing. You deploy a defense mechanism to label it as "fear" (why 'homophobia' became such a popular term) or "anger". Your weak 42% suicide mind can't handle the thought of being the target of derision, so you have to fortify yourself with delusions that you are hitting a soft spot, that you're triggering alt-right Nazis and causing them to rage at your influence on pop culture.
So take heart knowing that no one is having a meltdown over a darkie diversity hire for the latest Netflix failed adaptation. We're just having a chuckle
No, I'm having a meltdown because Netflix keeps using my skin color as a bargaining chip to get people to watch their shitty adaptations. >"Hey look, we made a white character black! We're with the times!!"
Frick right off with that shit.
And there's not even room to make for a racially themed storyline like in The Boys (where it at least parodies real life situations, but with superheroes). Nor does is it even make sense in a casting sense from manga to live action like Usopp. Its just another low effort diversity point, and I hate them for it.
I feel bad for black actors in the woke era. They only get cast by terrible writers and directors so the studio can use their blackness as a shield against criticism. That didn't used to happen.
Nah, the movies that came out a year apart. The second was Gantz: Perfect Answer or something like that. I enjoyed them at least, and the Ichi the Killer live action.
>pronouns
cope chuddy
One Piece literally has a hero character who is trans and says gender doesn't matter and has the ability to turn men into women and vice versa via HRT
But One piece is also fiction just like trannies
> One Piece literally has a hero character who is trans and says gender doesn't matter

>tfw thinking of the atrocious CGI that will be used for Arlong during Nami's arc
LOL It's going to look like She-Hulk.

She/him
Him/she
gay/shithead
every post in this thread will be frail white screeching
Including yours reeeeeee
Will the 11th Straw Hat be played by a biological male?
Will be played by a non binary dog of color
Why did Nami's hair turn white and why does she have horns now?
Did she eat a devil fruit?
yes she ate the sex sex fruit which made her super horny, hence why she has horns now
Dunno who Klahadore is, Mihawk, Zeff, Morgan and Kaya look fine and Nojiko is typical Netflix casting. Goes to show that they actually wanted to turn Nami black but Oda probably had a say in who they should pick for the Straw Hats and the rest of the cast is probably whatever
>Dunno who Klahadore is,
Captain Kuro.
Ah I see
Is that his Butler name in Japanese/English? I watched the German dub as kid and his name was Beauregard there
yes iirc thats his butler alias
Mihawk lowkey kinda bussin
(sneed/seed)
(chuck/frick)
First time i see Netflix casting a shitload of good looking people. I guess it was Oda request
this has to be the least diverse netflix cast of all time
Actually it is the truly most diverse and actually uses multiple nationalities for the Straw Hats like Oda intended.
It's maybe the first series so far that doesn't do the "Diversity = black" thing
That Usopp casting is perfect, god damn.
Yeah i really was thinking how the frick they are gonna find a black guy with a pointy nose and they did it
For reference this is what the author said would be the real world nationalities of the Straw Hats
>Naming Africa as a country
Hahahahahah
Yuck, luffy looks like some primate half-abbo
The rest actually look good, which makes it worse.
he looks disgusting in that picture, he looks fine normally
Does Luffy eat the poo poo no toilet fruit in this version instead?
I shouldnt have laughed. But i did.
The sets looks pretty good

Black girl is hot tbh
Frick the pain away
Frick the pain away
They couldn't help themselves for frick sake
What's the point of including pronouns if they whole cast is normal?
it's a subterfuge to make it common in the mind of the npc
I think Coby's actor is non-binary
To normalize it so non passing lazy troons don't feel singled out when they're the only ones that actually need it.
>Nojiko
:/
If Nojiko needs to be sacrificed for Netflix to get their BLACKED fix I think that's a sacrifice I'm willing to take. It's not like anyone particularly cares about Nojiko
suddenly there are dozens of nojiko fans
I mean it's still unnecessary and dumb and of course people are going to complain turning a random side character black for absolutely no reason on the other hand One Piece doesn't have a lot of black people so might as well sacrifice unimportant side character for the black quota
or just hang the people who impose the quota
this
Second this
> It's not like anyone particularly cares about Nojiko
Arlong Park is the first really great arc of the series, so there are tons of fans that hold those characters really close. Genzi was my fav of that arc.
>It's not like anyone particularly cares about Nojiko
You ignorant frick
They just couldn't help not adding a black person huh. usopp would have made sense. this doesnt.
oh dont worry, the rest of the cast will have to drastically adjust their acting style and theyll conform the character to work with her basic acting skill because making Black folk do anything outside of sounding like themselves is racist
You're all going to have a fricking meltdown because a minor character is black aren't you?
>*smacks lips* You gonna get mad at ANOTHER BLACK CHARACTER?
So, yes
Why do dishonest troony gay liberals deliberately misrepresent mockery as "anger" or "triggered" or even "meltdowns"?

Im not having a meltdown but Im certainly not going to stay quiet about the continued mocking and tokenism of blacks.
rope
Isn’t that just the girl who got fricked by her dad or is there more than one?
>Oh no there's a black in my children's pirate show
>I'm being genocided!
>oh no they're turning a white character into a black one
Fixed.
>Oh no!
No, I'm having a meltdown because Netflix keeps using my skin color as a bargaining chip to get people to watch their shitty adaptations.
>"Hey look, we made a white character black! We're with the times!!"
Frick right off with that shit.
Its like if they made Goku black to try to appeal to blacks. It'll be a slap in the face.
And there's not even room to make for a racially themed storyline like in The Boys (where it at least parodies real life situations, but with superheroes). Nor does is it even make sense in a casting sense from manga to live action like Usopp. Its just another low effort diversity point, and I hate them for it.

>pronouns
This identity politics shit needs to fricking die.
Name a single anime/manga/japanese media that's had a good live action adaption, especially in the west.
Unironically, Gantz.
>live action
Are you talking about the Gantz CGI movie?
Nah, the movies that came out a year apart. The second was Gantz: Perfect Answer or something like that. I enjoyed them at least, and the Ichi the Killer live action.
Needed sex scenes like the original.
This is going to be such a fricking mess
still not watching until they fix nami
